We had a fabulous, quiet and relaxing stay at Y Ddwern.
We had a fabulous, quiet and relaxing stay at Y Ddwern. It was quaint, away from it all and in a perfect location if you want peace and quiet like we did. The cottage had everything we needed and the cake on arrival was delicious and a lovely surprise. The hot tub was so welcome and the views were incredible with the sheep often coming up to say hi. It was just as lovely to relax there during the day and at night under the stars, weather permitting. Our young son loved the area, seeing the birds and the animals and he really enjoyed the open space and it was great to have an enclosed garden for our dog to wander around too. Mr and Mrs Evans were lovely, they left us alone but were there if we needed them. We spent lots of time out exploring from local walks, world heritage sites, castles, halls and gardens, to Aberswyth on the coast, to rivers, dams and waterfalls. We live to explore and were prepared to drive out to locations but there are lots of walks around the farm too if you don't want to go too far.We would highly recommend a stay here and will definitely be returning another time.
Lovely property, hosts very friendly, every thing we needed was there
Very easy to rent, easy to find, lovely hosts and a great location and property. Would highly recommend this property to family and friends

A really lovely cottage on a working farm.
A really lovely cottage on a working farm. For us, everything was pretty much ideal; the family who run the farm are really welcoming and the cottage itself is great. We had everything we needed to have a peaceful get away and a central location for exploring this part of Wales.
Be aware that the cottage is a mile or so away from the town, so a car is pretty much essential.
Due to Covid, some pubs were not offering a full menu and some were closed on some evenings, so ensure you call these before booking. However cooking facilities in the cottage were great so if you need to cook, you can!

Fantastic tranquil break.
Fantastic tranquil break. This beautiful cottage is the place to go to get away from everything. The owners are extremely accommodating, the view magnificent and plenty of local walks. Recommend to anyone who wants to hide away!

We were very happy here for the 7 days with our two children. It’s a lovely peaceful place with amazing views of the valley. It’s a great place to stay with kids - very relaxed. The property adjoins another so it’s not entirely private, and the garden is shared but we had it to ourselves that week and it was perfect. Our hosts were very welcoming and kind. Overall a brilliant family break!

Excellent all round accommodation with some beautiful views across the valley into the far distance.
Excellent all round accommodation with some beautiful views across the valley into the far distance. Found several very nice dog friendly eating places and enjoyed the narrow gauge railway nearby and the annual local model railway exhibition. The typically changeable Welsh weather did not cause us any undue inconvenience and we even managed a trip to the very nice seaside town of Barmouth for the day. The location (on a working farm) was extremely interesting. The farm is definitely one to short list if you like isolation, privacy, real darkness at night and watching the abundance of wildlife.

Had a fantastic weeks break at a lovely cottage.
Had a fantastic weeks break at a lovely cottage. Lovely big garden with fantastic views made it a great place to linger and chill out. You’ll need a car to enjoy the surrounding area which includes Welshpool with Powis castle and the steam railway. A little further afield are the pretty towns of Oswestry and Montgomery and even further afield we had a lovely day out at the little seaside town of Barmouth. All in all a lovely cottage to use as a base for exploring as well as a place to just relax.
