Bathroom: Bath, Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Electric storage heaters, underfloor heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for multi-fuel stove included. Cot available.. Enclosed garden with garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. Bike store. Visit England 3 Star.. 3 Townhead Cottages sits in a most enviable position on the fringes of Grasmere village, directly beneath Helm Crag and Steel Fell therefore enjoying wonderful, uninterrupted views. The cottage is on a small working farm and offers guests the opportunity of sampling life in typical, rural Lakeland. Grasmere village is a short stroll away and offers a good selection of interesting tea shops and galleries as well as a co-op store and an excellent bakery for everyday provisions.
Built in the 19th Century, the cottage is delightfully presented with original flagged floors, oak beams and original gas lights, now converted to electric and these features have been combined with pretty decor and hand picked accessories, depicting the famous writers this fantastic location inspired. The property features a bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, newly fitted in 2023.

Beautifully located,well equipped and cosy cottage. Let down by hot water system. Cottage sleeps 4 yet only enough hot water for one bath. Booster stays on for 10 minutes rather than the hour stated. Cylinder far too small.
Log burning stove but no carbon monoxide detector fitted.

As a family of four with two young children, we had a great week at 3 Townhead Cottage.
As a family of four with two young children, we had a great week at 3 Townhead Cottage. The location, approx 1.5 miles from Grasmere suited us perfectly. Fells are on your doorstep, there is a back garden and the kids enjoyed seeing the farm animals. The town is easily accessible but we felt we were sufficiently far away from the daily bustle. The small kitchen was sufficient for us as we weren’t planning any lavish meals and the Nespresso machine a welcome accessory. We were happy with our choice of this authentic feeling Cumbrian cottage.

Location is wonderful, surrounded by fells enabling easy access to many footpaths.
Location is wonderful, surrounded by fells enabling easy access to many footpaths. Bus stop nearby. 20 minute walk to Grasmere on quiet lanes. 10 minutes to travellers’ rest pub - food excellent. Farm next door sells eggs. Towels were provided. Will definitely go again.
