About this property
Blelham Tarn (Rustic yet modern cabin in tranquil woodland with own EV charger)
Private, rustic and tranquil this alpine style lodge is accommodation aimed at the more discerning guest who seeks a quiet romantic hideaway or an old school family retreat.
Far from the madding crowd yet only minutes from either Ambleside or Grasmere this lodge is hidden within a tranquil and mature woodland setting. Our efficient insulation, double-glazing and electric heating ensures that the lodge is warm and cosy while crystal clear spring water, full of minerals and as soft as silk, is drawn directly from our local borehole and piped straight to your tap for washing and drinking. Enjoy great access to both birds and wildlife, including frequent visits from roe deer or occasionally a red squirrel or two. Whether you are a walker or a gamer you will feel closer to nature while at the same time enjoying modern conveniences and tech.
The lodge is non-smoking throughout. There are 4 bedspaces - One double and two single beds. Bed liens are provided for everyone and beds will be made up ready for your arrival. Towels and tea-towels are provided, so you need only bring your toothbrush.
You will have sole use of the lodge, the deck and the grounds for the complete duration of your stay. Additionally you will have shared use of the pool hall with its facilities between the hours of 9:30 and 19:00 daily, the pool hall closes on 15th November until 1st March and once every 3 months, during the afternoon on a Saturday for shareholders meetings.
There is a private 7Kw EV charger which is provided for guests. Payment is made on an overnight pay-as-you-charge basis through a coin slot meter.

About the host
Hosted by Andy & Maggie

Maggie and I have been renting our private holiday home to discerning guests for quite some time now and we have met and been reviewed by some lovely people along the way. We both retired from our full time employment in 2019 and took the opportunity to relocate to the beautiful Isle of Man; but we still visit The Lakes every 6 weeks or so. In the meantime our trusted housekeeper ensures that our guests are very well catered for.
Why they chose this property
Commercial parks are great but they're not everybody's cup of tea. For those who want mature and tranquil woodland surroundings and to be close to wildlife then our privately owned lodge is ideal. There's no central clubhouse, no sky sports and definitely no bar-room bingo. If you want that then nearby Parkdean Resorts can be found easily on Google.
What makes this property unique
Bird life is in abundance. Red squirrels can often be seen scurrying from branch to branch and deer sometimes visit our garden looking for any carrots or parsnips that guest may leave out.
