We had a lovely time staying in the cottage and enjoyed exploring the local area. It was our 1st trip to the lake district and we would definitely return to the area, it's such a beautiful place.
The cottage was just perfect for me and my dog as a base in the eastern Lakes. The views of Blencathra from the sitting room & garden were magnificent. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and we thorough enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.
This was our first stay in a cottage in troutbeck but will definitely be back .there is everything u need from oven , vac , washer , bed was comfortable and bathroom was beautiful. Great outdoor space which was secure , great for our two dogs to play safely. And the stunning mountains were a plus , pub just under 2 mile and a farm shop a few mile away .
Great cottage fantastic view Great to chill out in also nice and clean bed comfy shower perfect would recommend to family and friends will return again thankyou for a great stay
We loved this property. It was perfect for us plus our small dog. The outside space was lovely with it's enclosed garden and small wood beside. Views over to Blencathra were stunning and offered us an ideal spot to just chill out especially after some walking in the hills.Difficult to tear yourself away but will definitely return.
Lovely little cosy cottage, nice and quiet. Surrounded by trees and lovely views. Clean and tidy. A very small detail, but we could have done with a few more glassware. Only one small glass for drinking spirits or water.
Lovely cottage! Had most all amenities one could want. Absolutely breathtaking views! I know it's a pet property but only complaint would be the very wet dog smell. We don't have a dog. I think updated rugs in the cottage might make a huge difference. Was fortunate to see a red squirrel. Would not hesitate to come back.
We had a lovely 4 night stay, cottage is in a lovely spot, very quiet but within easy reach of places to visit etc. Has everything needed for a ‘home from home’ stay :-)
Small but perfectly formed. Lovely location and space of stay will likely book again. Only gripe was the mattress was not particularly brilliant but otherwise the cottage was perfect for us. I’d recommend to couples or small families anytime.
Ideal cottage for 2. Very warm (we had a winter break) and cosy. Red squirrels in the copse next door and a fabulous view of Blencathra. Dog friendly with a fully enclosed garden. We will be back.

Breathtaking views
The location was stunning. The property was adequate but needs a little TLC. extractor in kitchen not connected to anything Patio door curtains filthy Squashed flies on glass inside property problems with access door lock, shower door leaks, sofa wobbles and a huge bug bear….. no wardrobe
Stayed for a long weekend; perfect location and great amenities. We were luckily enough to see a red squirrel! The crows were a little annoying but very little you can do about that, they must have been nesting so we had our very own personal early alarm call! Would reccommend the cottage and would definitely go back if visiting the region again. Only thing to mention would be the mould that was starting to develop on the bathroom ceiling.
We have just spent 3 nights here. Stunning location with beautiful views and good access to the lakes. Property cosy and warm. Very peaceful. Encolsed garden a bonus for the dog.
Property had all the facilities needed.
Ideal getaway for a couple seeking a peaceful break.
Lovely well equipped little cottage with a perfect fenced in garden and amazing views!
Lots to do in local area with good amenities and friendly locals
