About this property

A lovely and relaxing place to stay whilst enjoying your holiday

Pinecroft has an eclectic style of contemporary and traditional to create a relaxing environment for all to enjoy after a day on the fells or just staying in and reading a good book. Owner enjoys collecting original art with many paintings to enjoy. Accommodation consists of large open plan kitchen / diner, large living room, 2 double and one single bedroom, master bedroom has a small ensuite with shower and the main bathroom has a lovely steel bath and large 'walk in' shower. A regular comment from many guests is that Pinecroft feels like a home. Outside a long driveway provides for ample parking and in Nov 2025 a new Electric Vehicle charger has been installed. There are mature gardens all around with large patio areas. There is a purpose built BBQ area and also a bike shelter with secure anchor points. There are a few water features including a lovely fish pond (parents see below). Views from the patio and the dining room are wonderful as you look west over Keswick to towards Grisedale Pike where the sun sets. In November 2023 we created a large level patio area that extends from the driveway up to and around the property, this is a major improvement with beautiful new slip resistant paving making the access step free (see photo's) and much easier for those with mobility concerns. plus plenty and a variety of seating areas to enjoy.

Reviews..... Please note that over the last 18 months PC has been in the hands of a local letting agency therefore Vrbo reviews are prior to this time however guests can be assured that recent reviews have all been highly complimentary.

Just about 100 meters away is a bus stop where you can catch a bus to take you into town or the walk along the old railway line (now a footpath) is about a 20 minute walk. Abit further down and around the corner there is another bus stop for those travelling to the South Lakes, Ambleside etc.

CHILD SAFETY - For the reassurance of parents, the large pond is less than 3 feet at its deepest, it is raised above ground level and has shrubs etc all around making it difficult for anyone to enter the water which is also very clear. Some large fish call it home. Other water feature / pond is also raised and less deep. Nobody or animal should enter the water at any time. Thankyou for your care and consideration.

Perfect place to stay in the Lakes

Lovely bungalow which gives a home from home feeling, the owner Roger met us at the property when we arrived and was very informative. Ideal for visiting different places in the area and also lovely walks straight from the door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it as a place to stay.

Great location

Clean, quiet location in Keswick. Nicely furnished. Easy access to walking in the Lake District and a 20-25 minute walk from town center, which is a great option when the roads are choked with traffic.

Lovely comfortable bungalow in really good location. Loved that we could walk to Keswick along the disused railway track. Easy to get around by car or bus from the house.

Lovely stay!

We had a great week at Roger's bungelow. Very comfy in beautiful surroundings. Would have been tricky for a disabled person which we thought we needed but actually didn't. Would thoroughly recommend the property, thanks Roger.

Great Place to Stay

Pinecroft was perfect for our time in Keswick, for exploring the lakes and fells around Derwent Water and the Buttermere Valley. A quiet location within a 15-20 minute walk of the town centre, Pinecroft was clean, spacious and well equipped, and it has great views across the fells north and west of Keswick.

Wonderful stay at Pinecroft

We absolutely loved staying at Roger’s home in Keswick! The three of us had plenty of room, all of the amenities we needed, and a beautiful garden courtyard to spend time together. It is a nice walk on a footpath to town, and a short distance to the Castlerigg Stone Circle. Roger was very helpful and gave us great recommendations for our stay in this gorgeous area. We hope to get back there again!

Well appointed rental property

My two sons and I had a very enjoyable stay at Pinecroft. It is very well appointed and equipped rental property in a nice neighbourhood within easy reach of Keswick town centre with it's many restaurants and pubs. Plenty to see and do in the area. Hopefully, we will return soon.

Excellent location for Lakes. Very comfortable beds and lounge and spacious. However the Garden is not pet friendly or child friendly as it is not enclosed and there are several un fenced ponds, perhaps a warning could be posted on property information.

About the host

Hosted by Roger Scoon

Host profile image
Born in Keswick many years ago, returning home in the early nineties after serving in the British Army, I am now retired after 23 years owning a local business offering mid to high end furnishings from curtains to fitted kitchens. Great pride is taken as year on year I improve Pinecroft to ensure my guests are pleased with their choice. Try to keep it relaxed and meet guests on arrival if I can.

Why they chose this property

If relaxation is high on your list of priorities then Pinecroft is for you. Spacious living accomodation on one level plus lots of out door space and parking make Pinecroft a nice place to be whatever the weather. A 20 minute walk along the old railway line / footpath will take you into town or jump on a bus at the nearby bus stops, Penrith - Keswick and Keswick to Ambleside. No need to drive yet far enough away from the hussle of a busy town if you want to chill.

What makes this property unique

Pinecroft is deceptive as it is tucked away in its own gardens. It has been designed deliberately for relaxation with quality fittings throughout. The large walk in shower is lovely and refreshing and the steel bath allows for a long soak if you prefer. The bath even acts as a speaker for your music (ask owner). Original paintings on every wall to be admired. Outside there are different patio areas to sit and enjoy the sunshine. BBQ area is quite unique, In Nov 2025 a new dedicated EV charging facility has been added.
