Situated within a few minutes’ walk of the city centre with its magnificent cathedral, this delightful cottage, all on ground floor level, has a blend of attractive features including oak floors and granite worktops, and is complemented with stylish contemporary furnishings, creating very comfortable accommodation for relaxing after a day spent exploring the many attractions in the area. Ripon is a historic market town and is host to various cultural events throughout the year, there is a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs, golf course, race course and the attractive spa gardens.

A short walk takes you to the picturesque canal basin where there is an array of colourful canal barges. The area is steeped in history with numerous abbeys and National Trust properties in the immediate area. The cottage is well placed for walking and touring the Yorkshire Dales, whilst the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, the spa town of Harrogate, the city of York and the North York Moors are just a short drive away.

The Old Joiners Shop is probably one of the best if not the best self catering establishments I have stayed at. Situated in a quiet location with its own dedicated parking space it is only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Ripon and is in easy driving distance to the eastern part of the Yorkshire Dales. It is very clean, well equipped and maintained. As a bonus the friendly, helpful owners live next door should you require any assistance. Highly recommended. This is an amazing little cottage in a quite but convenient location, within minutes walk of the centre of Ripon. Really well designed and equipped with some very high tech stuff. Photos do not do it justice! The only small thing is that the wet room only has an overhead shower, rather than a hand held shower head, which may not suit families with small children. It is in a great location, a short walk from the centre of Ripon and there were many attractions in driving distance. We had a very pleasant week in this cottage, and settled in right from the start. All appliances, equipment etc was of the highest quality as was the cottage itself. Everywhere felt nice and clean too - no gritty, dusty bits. Quite a novelty for us to stay in such a modern place! We liked it very much and can heartily recommend it. The photos really don't do it justice.

Fantastic love this cottage!! Second visit, feels like a home from home!! Clean, comfortable and well equipped!! Nothing too much trouble for the owners, if you have a problem as well!! Brilliant base with which to explore wonderful Yorkshire!! Cannot recommend highly enough Joiners Cottage!!
