Great Tahoe stay

This house was located close to the lake, restaurants, and grocery stores. We came to ski and it was a short 15 minute drive to palisades. The house is great! We loved watching sunset from the hot tub. The rooms are spacious. Bathrooms are great. We really enjoyed our cabin trip here.

comfy vacation house

House looked exactly as described in the website. Very comfy, cozy, and equipped with everything. The jacuzzi tub was a plus. There are a lot of stores, coffee shops close by. The only minor thing was the washer/dryer taking a long time and restarting in the middle of a cycle. Overall, our experience was excellent!

Great house and location

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, you can go out on the deck for a view of Lake Tahoe and see mountains in the distance. Large home with plenty of room for extended family. Check in was easy and efficient. Close to town yet far enough away to feel like you are away from it all.

Tahoe summer 2023!

We had a wonderful week stay at the lake house. The home was clean and we had plenty of space for our group of 10. Living there for a week was easy. The kitchen had everything we needed. Wish it had beach access as it was a busy 4th of July week but we still had a great time exploring. We even saw a bear!! Made our trip.

Perfect home for our family!

My family of 8 (7 adults and 1 child) stayed at this lovely property while vacationing in Tahoe. I can't say enough about how it exceeded our expectations. The views from the kitchen, den, and deck were beautiful, the kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfy, it was very clean and newly updated, etc!! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful but also close to everything! Joanne was quick to reply to any questions I had. Loved our stay at this beautiful home.

The house has all the amenities that you would need for your stay including all the kitchen necessities, outdoor grill, wi-fi, tv’s, comfy beds, fans, bathroom areas, clean hot tub, washer/dryer, deck with table, plenty of driveway parking, and many more amenities. The communication with Joanne was fantastic. We will definitely come back.

Thanksgiving Holiday

The home is lovely and clean as presented. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms clean and updated and kitchen was great for a large family. We did encounter great difficulty getting to the property after a recent snow storm as home is located at the top of a steep hill. First attempt was a fail with at least 6 cars actively stuck and digging out. 4 wheel drive was not enough, so recommend using chains as well. Local sheriff came to rescue and helped us gain access but said main roads prioritize before side streets, which is understandable but would have been nice to know in advance. Also somewhat impossible to park in driveway when snowy, steep slope to home. There is plenty of room to park up on top but you do need to haul bags down a snowy driveway and the snowplow tends to plow you in but there was a shovel to dig out! All in all we had a wonderful white Thanksgiving in a beautiful location in a beautiful home. Thank You Joanne.

8 adults and 3 children in our group and we fit like a glove. We loved the house.

Our stay over the Thanksgiving holiday required space for four small families (our children and their families) and a place to cook turkey and all the fixings. This house was perfect for us. The kitchen, family room, fireplace and entertainment areas were a great place for gathering for all of us and the four bedrooms gave everyone the chance to have private time. The kitchen had everything we needed for our big meal together and was big enough for several of us to be cooking different parts of the meal. The living room was spacious and comfortable for board games. Our small grandkids loved having the balcony as a secure area to play in the snow (about 18 inches fell during our stay) as well as a great view of the valley and lake. Most of us spent some time in the hot tub over the four days and loved it - including during some heavy snowfall! Because of the timing of some families arriving early and others leaving after church, the owner allowed us a little flexibility in our arrival and departure times. Thank you very much!!! In fact, every time I emailed her with a question I received a very quick answer. It was a pleasure dealing with her. With four couples, we wanted to have at least a Queen sized bed or larger in each of the four bedrooms and this was the only house I found that fit that bill. A beautiful and comfortable house with everything we wanted. We highly recommend it.

Stressful…

We rented this property because our best friend was getting married in Sept 2021 and wanted the wedding party close to where she was staying. As her wedding date approached, the Caldor fires caused her to have to cancel her wedding. I reached out to the owner to try to cancel, but she would not let us out of the reservation, even though there was a natural disaster. She told me it wasn’t that bad in Tahoe and that I could still go up there, but I wasn’t going to expose my 2 month old and 4 year old to the horrific air quality. We rescheduled the vacation for Memorial Day 2022, but the owner asked me to pay more because of the “high season”. We invited our family and closest friends to go with us. The home was very clean, but very dated. The downstairs looked like it had been recently renovated, but the upstairs bathrooms and bedrooms were very old. Upon check out, I received a message that we would have to pay more because one of the children traveling with us had an accident. She has recently passed out at school from being dehydrated and had to go to the ER, so her parents pushed water on her, especially since we were in the mountains and she peed the bed (she’s 5). The owner also said we broke the coffee machine, which we used every morning, even the morning we left, so there was no way we broke it. Overall, the property was clean, but very stressful renting experience from the beginning. I would not recommend renting this property, especially if you are traveling with children.

Slopes to Shore was perfect for our family of nine and we enjoyed a wonderful Tahoe summer vacation! The house was clean, spacious, and fully equipped to meet our needs in the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry, and game room. It was even well equipped for our grandchildren, ages 3 and 21 months, with a nice Pack & Play, high chair, baby gates, and dinnerware. The amenities were above and beyond! The location is perfect as it is minutes from Tahoe City, which we loved! We enjoyed many of the local restaurants and shops. It is also very close to Kings Beach, Incline Village where we rented e-bikes and biked to Sand Harbor, and Emerald Bay, as well as many hiking trails. There was a little heat wave that hit during our stay and being from the mid-west we anticipated the stay would be uncomfortable without A/C. No problem! Ample fans were available and Joanne reached out to us immediately and shared how to draw the cool mountain air in at night and keep the house cool during the day. We were totally comfortable! Joanne was the perfect hostess...always prompt and on top of providing us with information! Tahoe is not just for winter! Our family highly recommends a summer trip to this beautiful area and to stay at Slopes to Shore. You will not be disappointed!

We’re longtime Northern California locals who absolutely love everything this region has to offer! We’ve owned our Tahoe home for over 10 years and take great pride in creating a memorable and comfortable stay for both nearby guests and travelers from around the world. We’re always dreaming up new ways to enhance the experience and help our guests make lasting memories in the mountains.

Why they chose this property

Our home sits on a spacious lot bordered by a Nature Conservancy on one side and a greenbelt on the other, offering a serene and secluded setting. Located in Tahoe’s beautiful West Shore, you’ll enjoy stunning views and easy access to some of the region’s top destinations—Truckee, Squaw Valley, and Emerald Bay all just minutes away.
We are in close proximity to ten national forest areas, perfect for hiking, mountain biking, or cross-country skiing. Plus, the home is just a short walk from fantastic photo spots and fun sledding hills. We especially love hiking to Eagle Rock or exploring the nearby trail system.

We highly recommend dining at Jake’s on the Lake—famous for its breathtaking views and exquisite cuisine. Our favorite adult summertime treat is a Chambers Punch at Chambers Landing, just down the road. Just a short drive to the North Shore, don’t miss Gar Woods, an iconic spot known for its lively atmosphere and refreshing wet woodies.

Some local favorites are a short drive away. For groceries and fresh eats, check out New Moon Natural foods and café, Tahoe House Bakery, or the Farmers Market (Thurs).

Just down the street are several dining gems: the cozy Fire Sign Cafe and the iconic Sunnyside restaurant. Sunnyside is beloved for its expansive deck and panoramic lake views—an unbeatable spot to have brunch. Fire Sign Cafe, with its charming classic Tahoe style, offers delicious meals, generous portions, and the good iced tea.

Also nearby, be sure to check out Bridgetender for some delicious American bar food, The Dam Cafe for excellent coffee, pastries, and breakfast burritos, and West Shore Market for awesome sandwiches to fuel your day.

This neighborhood truly offers the perfect blend of outdoor adventure, local flavor, and peaceful retreat.

What makes this property unique

What makes our property stand out is its spacious, beautifully updated interiors designed for comfort and connection. The large bedrooms, modern kitchen, and great room with expansive windows create a bright, welcoming space for family and friends to gather.

Step out onto the upstairs deck with cozy seating and a gas BBQ, perfect for enjoying peaceful lake views and the serene atmosphere. After a day of adventure, unwind in the private hot tub or enjoy friendly competition in the brand-new, fully equipped game room.

All bathrooms have been thoughtfully renovated for style and comfort. Conveniently located just one mile from Tahoe City’s restaurants and shopping, the home is close to skiing, hiking, and beaches — making it an ideal base for year-round Tahoe adventures.
