There are also two EV 22KW charge points located in the local car park just a short walk from the cottage, making it convenient for electric vehicle users. A new sauna and steam room facility is now available on the sea front – a relaxing treat after a day exploring (charges apply).
The area is rich in natural beauty and outdoor activities. Fishing, golf, horse riding and dry skiing are all under a mile away, while the spectacular coastal path offers delightful year-round walking in both directions. This stretch of the Cardigan Heritage Coast is a haven for wildlife – keep an eye out for seals, dolphins, red kites and buzzards. Nature-spotting boat trips run regularly from nearby New Quay, where you’ll also find sandy beaches, gift shops, cafés and some of the best surfing in the British Isles.
There are numerous activities that can be undertaken directly from Dol Llan. Kayaks can be hired from the seafront to paddle around the sheltered bays, and children will love exploring the rock pools and crabbing from the harbour wall. The surrounding countryside is perfect for cycling, with scenic routes and quiet backroads ideal for all levels.
The Cardi Bus – a local shuttle service – runs every 30 minutes throughout the summer, linking the free-of-charge top car park with the beach, making access easy for all. A short drive opens up even more to discover, including the colourful town of Aberaeron with its Georgian architecture and harbour, and the National Trust estate at Llanerchaeron.
