Lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area with garden furniture. Private parking. No smoking. Please note: There are 2 steps and a ramp in the garden.. Situated on the outskirts of Scarborough this single-storey former field barn has been skilfully converted to a very good standard, retaining many original oak beams and trusses. Standing detached and totally secluded, it commands stunning far-reaching views to the sea and Scarborough Castle. This idyllic holiday location boasts excellent walking and cycling from the doorstep and is ideally placed to explore the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Heritage coastline. Shops and pub 1 mile.



There is a ramp into the property and 2 steps from the living area directly into the garden.

This was our third visit and the standard of accommodation is as high as ever. We felt safe and everything was sanitised. It was the perfect getaway. I haven’t given it a perfect score as we felt WiFi and a better tv service e.g. satellite would be our only suggestions for improvement at a time when going out at night isn’t always the best option. Last minute booking Ideally situated for an escape from it all with far reaching country views, coast and castle. Nicely appointed accommodation with all the mode cons for a self catering break away from it all. ( all games, videos and books) had been removed as had any non essential items. Security for our dog was a concern as the garden is not totally fenced off but with a little investment could easily be fixed. We paid well in access of the average price for the same period but I suspect this was due to the current pandemic. Would we revisit, no but we enjoyed the visit. Nice place to be for peace and quiet. Barn is luxury holiday stay but expensive. service for repairs quick and no trouble for caretaker at Scalby Lodge. Had a lovely view of Scarborough and coast. Very out of the way though

Unfortunately we felt that we were unable to award a ten for Blue Mountain Barn as one or two repairs need to made which is a shame, but for the amazing views and truly peaceful location we would not stay anywhere else. North Yorkshire is also a beautiful county to visit. At Blue Mountain Barn you are surrounded by the beautiful countryside and Scarborough is only a 10 minute drive away with it's beautiful beaches and family attractions and the resorts of Whitby, Filey and Bridlington can be reached within 30 mins. York is a must visit which is only about an hour away. There are also plenty of excellent places to eat and drink nearby.

Beautiful converted barn which has been done very tastefully. Great location providing solitutide and wonderful sea views, but only minutes from civilisation and all amenities. Extremely clean and well equipped just missing washing up liquid and kitchen roll. Very warm and cosy and the utility room was a really good drying room. Good quality fittings. The only downside was the mattresses were very hard and not comfortable for back sufferers and non back sufferers. Pillows small and not too comfortable and there are good quality cheap pillows available these days. We will go back. I’ll take my own pillows next time.
