Stylish, well-equipped, warm and comfortable with a green air-conditioning unit, this lodge, one of a pair, has its own private hot tub and enclosed garden, a swing chair on the veranda; a perfect spot for chilling and watching the countryside views. Situated on a family farm, 4 miles from the market town of Rhayader, Ash Lodge is in the beautiful countryside; there are farm walks and nature trails from the door. Easy road access with the spectacular Elan Valley, 5 miles, for walking, cycling, fishing, bird watching and pony trekking. Dark sky experience with stargazing and photography available (bookable in advance with the owner directly). Red kite feeding station, Welsh Crystal Factory, cycle hire, indoor pool and play barn all within 4 miles. Visit museums and art galleries or the coastal nature reserve of Ynyslas Sands and the dolphins of Cardigan Bay. Decorations and tree are provided for Christmas bookings. Shops and pub 4 miles.

We loved our stay.

We loved our stay. The only thing we would change with the lodge is the bed. Wasn’t the most comfortable but everything else was fine. Not sure why we were met at the lodge when there was a key lock box for us to access and on all literature provided, we had been advised that it was contactless due to COVID. Felt a little rushed on departure as the owner was there before the checkout time, waiting for us to leave. We did thoroughly enjoy our stay though. Thank you! Me and a group of girls stayed here for my birthday and it was just what we needed.

Me and a group of girls stayed here for my birthday and it was just what we needed. Admittedly got a noise complaint on the Friday (oops, you don't realise how much Voices travel sorry again ) but other than that it was a lovely stay and had absolutely everything we needed. Not much about the area but some beautiful walks locally, plus total peace and tranquility while in the hot tub. I'd definitely recommend and will hopefully be back in the near future. A very nicely located lodge with hot tub.

A very nicely located lodge with hot tub. The lodge itself is very spacious and in a clean condition. It is in need of a little modernisation which would be expected of such a popular holiday destination and the many guests it caters for. The hot tub is fantastic and is maintained daily by the owners, Stephen & Kerena are such charming and welcoming hosts who continually strive to make each stay a memorable experience & our 2nd time there was no exception. The local area is surrounded by farmland and is so so quiet, if peace and quiet is what you're after this is the place for that. There's no shops or pubs within 4 or 5 miles but Rhayader is a charming little town with coffee shops, a CO-OP, restaurants and gift shops and you can peacefully while away an hour there. There are some local town walks and trails situated in Rhayader and near Lon Lodge itself if that's your thing. Wildlife comes in abundance here. This is really a great place to spend a few days unwinding from your everyday life and is family friendly to its core. It's rare to find somewhere that you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend but you have that here. I for one will return time and time again because it is that special.
