Lovely cottage close to essential amenities, most within walking distance.
Lovely cottage close to essential amenities, most within walking distance. Cottage has many dog walking tracks leading from the house. The property is dog friendly with easy wash floors for those foot and paw prints after woodland walking. There is an enclosed area directly at the back door which is dog safe, although some small and teacup size dogs could get through the wooden slatted gates, and a handy external hosepipe. On arrival, there was a fabulous lemon drizzle cake and a bottle of wine awaiting us, but I would have willingly paid extra to find a pint of milk in the fridge, rather than having to go out again after a long tiring drive. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens up a private drive. The owners kindly contacted us before we arrived, as they live in the house within the same grounds, which was a nice touch. We would highly recommend. A great base, close to Chester, and we used the train to visit Liverpool from the station in Buckley.
Cosy cottage, perfect for families, has everything you need for a perfect stay.
Arrived to a delicious homemade lemon drizzle and bottle of wine. The cottage is so cosy, comfortable and has everything you need to ensure you have a great holiday. The location is ideal for families with Chester Zoo and Aquarium so close. We will definitely book the cottage when we next visit family in Chester

Woodhouse cottage was perfect for us visiting relatives nearby.
Woodhouse cottage was perfect for us visiting relatives nearby. The cottage is in a great location with woods behind for walking our very energetic dog! Also ideal for visiting Chester and the coast - we went to Llandudno which is only 40 mins away. It is a very well equipped and cosy cottage- a real home from home atmosphere & a lot bigger than we expected. Owners were very friendly and helpful too.

We had a lovely time at the cottage and we loved the beautiful garden which was also enjoyed by our two collies. The heritage cottage is located at the end of a private road with accessible woods behind, ideal for dogs. An additional bonus is a large enclosed field just outside the garden which is used by local dog walkers also and is fully enclosed. The owner offers use of the whole garden in front and behind the cottage which is a very good size but not enclosed albeit the road is a fair way down the private track. The house and garden is much bigger than the photos shown which don’t do the property justice. In addition there is an enclosed area behind the house which has a table and chairs to sit out in the sun or cook on the Barbecue. It would be nice if this enclosed area extended to include part of the rear lawn for those with dogs. The property has an oil fired cooker but also a halogen hob in the kitchen and microwave, grill and electric combo. The property has wood burner in the bedroom but is fully central heated. Decorated to a high standard this is a comfortable house with good facilities. We met Richard the owner who is very nice and friendly. Located in Dobs Hill there is not much around other than a service station and convenience store at the end of the road but being relatively close to a major road it’s a good location to explore the area with a car and Chester is not far away. The Red Lion pub is a short distance away and serves good food. Overall we would recommend this house as one of the best places we have stayed. Note owner bakes a really good lemon drizzle cake !

The cottage was lovely and much bigger than expected!!! I didn't take my dogs, but can confirm there is a garden and an enclosed area which is important for any dog owner. We were greeted with a lovely Lemon Drizzle Cake and a bottle of white wine. The only issue we faced was the postcode on the Cottages confirmation email did not take you to the cottage! This needs up dating. Overall brilliant stay and would stay again

Comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage.
Comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage. Beautiful garden with a woodland walk starting from garden which was great for dog walking. Ideally located for trips into north wales and Cheshire although the not much to the village itself. However the cottage is set well back from the road and has a nice rural feel. Overall an excellent holiday cottage and would recommend it

The photographs don't do it justice. The house is beautiful and the wildlife in the garden is amazing. The cottage was spotless. A lemon drizzle cake and a bottle of wine was much appreciated on arrive.
Dr. Lucas and Mrs Lucas keep their distance even though their cottage was adjacent to ours.

The cottage was perfect for a short break.
The cottage was perfect for a short break. Richard and Chris were welcoming and helpful. The equiping and decor was thoughtful and the bedrooms excellent.
The location was good for touring into North Wales, Chester and not too distant from mid Wales.
In good weather the well attended garden around the cottage would be enjoyable and good for children.
