Welcome to the Brackens.......

The Brackens is a fully modernised, detached two storey accommodation within a wonderful country side setting and views of rolling fields from two south facing, two tiered decked veranda's.

During the Summer enjoy south facing gardens, lovely lush gardens and various seating area's that can facilitate families, groups or a romantic getaway for two. Complimented by our traditional Hot Tub with fresh water that can be used throughout the day and night complimented by a recently added roof.

A log burner ensures a cosy and luxurious stay during the winter months for those looking for a winter break with a traditional hot tub and breath taking views lit up in the evening for the ultimate - tranquil experience. We have also recently added a dishwasher and washing machine for those wishing for a longer stay.

Access also to our summer house set in the gardens for those looking for a relaxing area or for families wanting to enjoy some extra indoor space.

Two bedrooms (one upstairs / one down) are complimented by a wooden, fresh water hot tub and over one acre of gardens. Wildlife in abundance with neighbouring Delamere Forest one mile away and Manley Mere Lake and water sports 1.2miles. Fishing, walking within the area with a local train station and a wonderful local pub.

The Annexe and garden is set within a acre of grounds can be used to relax in one of the many area's connected to annexe or around the garden. Our hot tub feature is a traditional log burner set up that uses fresh water and accommodate up to four people.

You will have exclusive use of the gardens and full privacy throughout your stay.

The Brackens is for those looking for a tranquil, quiet stay to enjoy the luxurious hot tub and rural surroundings.

We will endeavor to provide anything on request that may be required during your stay. The property is based in Manley which is ten minutes from Chester / Frodsham by car and a one mile from a train station that is a main line to cities in the region. Please note owner is based on site.

We will offer further discounts for stays seven nights or longer.

We offer a tranquil retreat and although we want you to enjoy your stay and relax we are not a venue that can accommodate bookings with a 'party' agenda. Bookings for all adult parties (x4) are on request. (Please ensure you are comfortable the property will serve your needs prior to booking)

For security and safety purposes we do have CCTV on our property.
Each camera will be pointed out to our guests on arrival but all cover property entrances. A copy of each camera will also be in your arrival pack.

Lovely place with great surroundings

Paul was very helpful and always on the other end of the phone if needed. A beautiful place for a nice quiet getaway and there is plenty to do just a short drive away, would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to relax. 10/10

Lovely quiet location, beautiful gardens. Our son loved the tree ladders! Beautiful views from the decked areas and of course the hot tub topped it all off. Great communication from the owner paul. We'll definitely be back for another chilled weekend.

Beautiful gardens

Peace and quiet and very lovely gardens. Lots of interesting places in easy reach - Chester, Delamere Forest, Cheshire Oaks Shopping Mall - but we liked doing nothing in the garden best.

Very bad owner

The owner is very rude, there camera pointing onto the hot tub, which is very unsettling, aswell as another 2 camera on garden. And he doesn't leave that much wood to heat up hot tub!! I stayed me and my 2 kids, and got shouted at because I had my music on at 11pm. He threatened to kick me out or call police if I don't turn music off. Not a nice person and very rude, always interrupting, when I spoken. Good luck to whoever stays here and I'd advise strongly for no single women to go.

A quiet and peaceful place, Worth a visit. My sister is sleeping so well and peacefully for the first time in a year. 😂 The house is clean and equipped with everything you need. The owner is very helpful and friendly. Thank you for everything and we will definitely come back there more than once 😁☺️

Brilliant short break

Lovely accommodation. Clean, tidy and in beautiful surroundings. Host Paul was welcoming and helpful but not overbearing and easy to contact. Upstairs room with balcony was extremely comfortable and a lovely sun trap. Little bedroom downstairs was a great bonus. Hot tub was clean,and we thoroughly enjoyed using it. Kitchen was well equipped and whole annex was modern and had everything you could need. Outside areas were well kept and lovely decking to eat on . Would love to return.

Relaxing and Peaceful

A great location to de-stress and unwind and although the weather was mix of sunshine and showers, the covered area overlooking the garden meant that we could still sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. We had planned on visiting both Manchester and Chester by train however with train times at just once per hour, we skipped Manchester this time and used the Park & Ride from Chester Zoo to Chester. We also visited Lady Lever art gallery at Port Sunlight and ended up spending several hours in the village once parked up (free parking) As with any holiday, there are always elements that aren't the same as 'home'... Such as the one bathroom which is off the upstairs bedroom meaning our 17 year old had to come into our room at night by phone torchlight... Not what we're used to but it was fine but be aware if you have a guest staying in the bed downstairs off the lounge that may need the bathroom a few times in the night... A lovely week away though and one tip I would share is to set your phone sat nav from inside the property and look there if you need to head out left or right from the drive. We got a bit lost looking for Tescos on the first evening and my sat nav lost it's signal completely so keeping a good old fashioned map in your car too would be a good idea - We used ours a few times :)

Wonderful Week

We had an amazing week the house is beautiful and set in a lovely location. Highlights are the deck in the tree canopy and the hot tub. Totally rural location but very close to so many fun things to do. Chester zoo, blue planet, Cheshire oaks, Chester to name a few. Paul was a great host very helpful when we needed help but left us to it the rest of the week. We will definitely return.

Wonderful cottage with a lovely host

We were here for a short break. Beautiful location. Lots of space for our little one to run around. We loved the wood-burner hot-tub as well. And the host was so nice. Communication was excellent and all the instructions were very clear.

Amazing!

My wife and I wanted to get away for our wedding anniversary. We found this place and couldn’t be happier! The annex itself is very clean and comfortable with everything you need, the gardens are beautiful, the owner set up the hot tub for us when we wanted it, we had privacy in a beautiful setting, we absolutely loved our stay. Highly recommend this place

Arrived at 1.30pm. Allowed in early. Place was brilliant. Cosy but not cramped. Used hot tub on the night after a trashing afternoon in Chester, it was fabulous. Kitchen had everything you needed beds were comfy. Would i recommend 🤔 Absolutely 💯 %

Weekend away

Clean and totally private annexe which was very comfortable and had everything you could want from a mini break. Peaceful, beautiful views, but also not too far from amenities and a great base to explore Chester. Use of hot tub made it all the more special!

Great stay definitely be back

The host Paul was very helpful and made finding the place really easy. Having him close by and only a text away was so helpful. The place was so clean not even a spec of dust and the welcome cookies where a massive hit with the kids. Super comfy beds nice and clean Paul has thought of everything there was games and books and lots to do in the garden for the kids my daughter especially loved the archaey. Lots to do on the doorstep and really close to Chester zoo. Yet also very tranquil and peaceful area.paul was always on hand to help with lighting the hot tub and il definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay.
