We loved our wee break here even if we did have the worst weather ever.
We loved our wee break here even if we did have the worst weather ever. The cottage is lovely and bright, clean and modern and there’s everything you need for cooking etc. Bath and showers were lovely and powerful. Stars of the show are the little chickens who just wander around all the local farmland and in the garden all day. Watching the bird table was fun especially the woodpecker and at night there’s a little hedgehog that visits the garden too. Bird and hedgehog food are supplied so you can feed them which is cute and David the owner couldn’t have been nicer. The welcome pack is fab as well. Just watch your dogs with the chickens we only let ours off the lead in the garden when they were in their coop for the night or when we could see they were nowhere near as ours liked to try and catch them 🤦ðŸ»â€â™€ï¸ Just a lovely relaxing wee place to stay
Bird watchers paradise, 14 different types of bird in one morning. The cottage was perfect, the hosts where friendly and informative. The user manual was extremely comprehensive. There was every thing you need in the form of utensils. With comfy beds.
Well positioned for everything we wanted to do. Dumfries House is a joy to visit, the Isle of Arran, beautiful, don’t bother taking a car over just use the buses to get right around the island.
So many superlatives to use about our week and not one miserable person, everyone very helpful and friendly.
The Cart Shed is a really lovely place to stay with beautiful surroundings. It had everything we needed. The owners were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We had a comfortable and relaxing stay. It was amazing to sit on the sofa looking out into the garden watching the woodpeckers, squirrels and chickens coming and going. Our elderly dog had a lovely time and wasn’t bothered about the chickens but a more lively dog might be difficult to manage as the garden isn’t fully enclosed. We loved it and would definitely like to return.

Plenty firewood for log burner.
Nice welcome pack.
Lovely views from large windows.
We thought that a handrail in the shower over the bath would have been a good idea.

Lovely cottage, clean and well kept.
Lovely cottage, clean and well kept.
A little overlooked, no full length mirror and no wardrobes, just a couple of small hanging rails.
A bit over priced but a light packing family would love it.

Excellent base for visiting friends and family.
Excellent base for visiting friends and family. We were not expecting such a great welcome pack!
Best welcome pack by far. The place was clean and most things we required were there. we did not expect the wildlife in the garden on the first morning. We thought the owners were slowly releasing the animals/birds for us to enjoy. First we heard the woodpecker and then the lovely birds on the bird feeder, then a squirrel and then the hens came round and then there were ducks. (they seem to love the feeders). I didn't realise how peaceful it was watching birds in the garden. It was lovely the daffodils were out in the garden. The kids enjoyed playing with their dogs. Our dog loved watching out of the windows. despite the 8 hour journey time I usually don't sleep well anywhere for the first few nights. But we all slept amazingly well. The cart shed has been thought out really well with solar powered and spring water. The kids tried out the jacuzzi bath a few times loved it!!!
Alex was very helpful in suggesting places for dogs and kids to visit.
Dumfries grounds, Culzean country park, Ayr beach.
All great!!!
