Located only 16 miles from the Border Counties, it is an ideal base for families, friends and couples from which to explore the Northumberland National Park, Kielder Water and Forest, observatory and the Borders.

Outdoor pursuits are popular in the area and it is a favourite location for wildlife enthusiasts, walkers and adventure seekers. The village of Bellingham is nearby and offers a further choice of pubs, cafés and other local amenities. In addition, the Roman town of Corbridge is a pleasant 30-minute drive away. Hexham Abbey and Rothbury are also easily accessible, with plenty of pubs, shops and visitor attractions. Northumberland has many other fine attractions to offer including Alnwick, with its famous castle and water gardens, the Northumberland Heritage Coast, castles and beaches, which all make a fine day out.
