Two miles further up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony, depart regularly from its harbour. The picture perfect village of Bamburgh, snuggled in the shadow of its majestic castle is a further 3 miles north. Just 7 miles inland from Bramble Cottage is the bustling market town of Alnwick, with its own dramatic castle (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Academy). Visitors can enjoy a trip to Alnwick Garden, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden including the Grand Cascade waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. The cottage was ideally located and offered a safe secure garden for our dogs.
The cottage was ideally located and offered a safe secure garden for our dogs. We had everything that we needed and was deceptively spacious. I would highly recommend this cottage and would have no hesitation in returning.
High spec of equipment in the house, the owners really thought of everything .. good location. Plenty of room .. we were blessed with super weather but there was plenty of books and games in the house as well. Good restaurant within very short walking distance.. loads of lovely walks in and around the cottage. Lots of benches to just sit and soak up the views. Perfect!

Loved the cottage, it was so close to the sea and you can walk to Dunstanburgh Castle ruins.
Loved the cottage, it was so close to the sea and you can walk to Dunstanburgh Castle ruins. The Jolly Fisherman does lovely food. It lacks a easy to access small grocery shop and there is no phone signal at all in the village.

Another great holiday in Craster.
Another great holiday in Craster.
Bramble Cottage in an ideal location for fresh air and peaceful recuperation.
Cottage was great, everything we wanted.
Only slight issue is that the private drive for parking was to tight for the larger car.

Our second year staying in the lovely Bramble Cottage.
Our second year staying in the lovely Bramble Cottage. Our home from home. Craster is idyllic and Bramble Cottage is just a stone's through from the beautiful harbour and close to the village Pub The Jolly Fisherman and the Craster Kipper smoke house. The cottage has everything you could need and feels welcoming and homely. The garden is beautifully kept and due to the great weather, well used this year. We were not sure what to expect in the present testing COVID 19 circumstances. Although a few of the thoughtful accessories that the owners had previously provided like cushions, games, books and dvds and hairdryer were understandably missing this time, everything was expertly clean and we felt very confident every care had been taken to make our stay comfortable and safe. We will definitely be back again.
