Riverside is set in the peaceful village of Kilmelford, this detached holiday home is in an ideal location for exploring the west coast of Scotland. The village boasts a pub, café, shop and post office. Kilmelford Yacht Haven allows guests the opportunity to bring their own boats and yachts and kayaks. Nearby Oban offers a more extensive range of services with good shopping, a leisure centre, cinema and a selection of good seafood restaurants. From Oban catch a ferry to the Inner Hebrides, including Mull, Iona and Staffa, or head south to Kennacraig for a ferry to Islay and Gigha. The area is steeped in history, and rich in archaeological and historical remains. Kilmartin Glen has at least 350 ancient monuments, of which 150 are prehistoric. Explore the Crinan Canal, Knapdale National Scenic Area, or head to the Kintyre Peninsula with white sandy beaches and a rugged coastline. The area has an abundance of wildlife with porpoise, dolphins, minke whales and basking sharks often seen. Bird watching highlights include sea eagles, golden eagles and puffins, while otters, seals, and deer can also be spotted. Close by there are plenty of walks and outdoor activities with horse riding, fishing, cycling, golf and a variety of watersports available.
