Great cottage in a lovely location.
Great cottage in a lovely location. Owner was very helpful and we had everything we needed. The views from the windows are outstanding and the gardens are beautiful even in winter. The town is a reasonable walk away and there are several good shops. It is a great location to explore Dumphries and Galloway and we plan to return.

Absolutely beautiful, well kept and appointed accommodation nestled in a stunning location.
Absolutely beautiful, well kept and appointed accommodation nestled in a stunning location. Very spacious, comfortable, exceptionally clean and lovingly decorated to create a cosy and welcoming home away from home. Gordon and Georgina are lovely and helpful owners and there to help if required. Waterwheel and all of Maidenholme is a credit to Gordon in the high standard and quality of restoration he has undertaken over the years. A labour of love and dedication which is evident as you stroll around the delightful gardens and appreciate all the work he has completed. We highly recommend treating yourself to a relaxing holiday at this wonderful location. Much appreciation - Lyn and Rowan

Not so much a cottage as a flat - but a well-thought-out design and a high standard of workmanship.
Not so much a cottage as a flat - but a well-thought-out design and a high standard of workmanship. Not too far from the town on foot and with a great forest walk on the doorstep. A surprisingly good bus service to interesting towns, abbey ruins and the coast. And in front of the big windows an ever-flowing stream, in full spate the week we were there but still hosting a dipper. A splendid quiet retreat.

Really lovely accommodation - a flat as part of a restored mill building, where you cross the mill race to get to your front door and have the most fantastic view of the river at the back. The garden is lovely and runs along the river.
