Relax--Zen inspired getaway just steps from Lake James. This home has everything you need to unwind and enjoy all that Lake James has to offer. A peaceful courtyard welcomes you at the entrance. Once inside you will feel your cares begin to slip away....Glass doors surround the entire house, revealing lake and mountain views. The open floor plan is newly renovated with bamboo flooring, new kitchen and updated bathrooms. A large covered deck with dining table with seating for 6 overlooks the lake with views of Shortoff Mountain, Table Rock and Grandfather Mountain. The main floor has a large round dining table that seats eight and bar seating for five. The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you need, including a gas grill on the deck! Wood burning fireplace in great room for cozy fall evenings. The sleeping loft on the main level is accessible by ladder and has a full size bed, lamp, games and two fluffy, friendly stuffed animals to snuggle. Master bedroom on main level has lake and mountain views, king size bed and private bath with stone, tile and glass shower. The lower level has a foosball table and wet bar as well as a tv with dvd player, a large dvd collection full of family/kid friendly movies and Roku/YouTube TV for streaming shows. There are twin size bunk beds and a twin roll away in an alcove off the family room The bathroom on the lower level has been newly updated with granite countertop, tile, stone and glass shower. The bedroom on the lower level has a queen size bed and view of the lake.

Visiting in the summer? There are floating toys and life jackets for lake fun. For those who are adventurous, the top deck of the dock has a gate for jumping off into the clean and soothing waters of Lake James!

Visiting in fall or spring? This time of year is one of the best kept secrets around Lake James. Lake traffic is light and often warm enough for boating (especially canoeing or kayaking) and/or swimming. A great time for fishermen! Mountain biking trails are less than 3 miles away at Lake James State Park and hiking trails are too numerous to count-- hike to the top of Shortoff Mountain or into the Linville Gorge and surround yourself with the beauty that only Mother Nature can provide.

Visiting in winter? An especially peaceful time of year to gaze out the window at the (sometimes) snow topped mountains and peaceful lake. Enjoy the warmth and crackle of the fireplace after a day of hiking or snow tubing in Jonas Ridge. Ski resorts are 30-40 minutes away in Boone, NC. Check out charming nearby Morganton for shopping, micro-breweries and restaurants or Silver Fork Winery just a few miles down the road with live music on weekends..... the possibilities are endless!

best view on Lake James

The views from the deck and the covered dock are some of the best views anywhere on Lake James. You will not be disappointed. The house was super clean, the beds were comfortable, and Lauren was responsive and very helpful. The kayaks and stand up paddleboards were super fun. A wonderful experience!

Relaxing

We have enjoyed multiple vacation stays on Lake James over the years, and this location was icing on the cake. The views are breathtaking and the home had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the paddle boards which were used early mornings when things were peaceful and quiet. We will be back next year!

Fantastic stay

This property was better than advertised and we had a great stay. The owner obviously pays close attention to guest needs and has everything situated beautifully. From the kitchen to the Zen garden, kayaks, paddle boards and FANTASTIC boat dock with second story hang out area, our family was incredibly fortunate to have found this Lake James gem. Lauren is very responsive and we felt well taken care of. Will be back.

Spectacular view

The Pagoda house was beautiful and the view of the lake was spectacular. There were things to do for the children. An indoor fireplace and an outdoor fire pit came in handy. Lots of hiking trails within 30 minutes. The owner was very assessable and answered all of our questions. We would definitely stay again!

Nice little house on the main channel. Great porch, nice little kitchen and a very relaxing stay.

This is a 2 Bedroom, 2 amd a half bath house with enough bunks for 6 more kids. Only 4 adults were in my geoup and it was perfect for us. I brought my boat and the owners were very kind and accomodating to move their boat to make room for mine. Spent a few days relaxing, grilling out and exploring the lake. Lots of chop being on the main channel, but the views in that direction are excellent. I would definitely recommend the house and the owners and would consider this house again for a future trip.

Relaxing

The house was exactly as described. The location, the views, the amenities…couldn’t be better. We enjoyed being on lake time with nothing to do but float in the lake, kayak, paddle board or just read on the deck. The kitchen is lovely, well stocked and has new appliances. We cooked most meals in and ate on the balcony. The views are stunning. The lake was the perfect temp and not particularly busy. My only regret was we didn’t book for longer.

Too much contact with property owner

There seems to be a problem with permanent residents and renters. I was awakened by owner at 7:45 am asking me to verify the number of cars in the driveway.. he said that we were being watch by neighbors and reported we had too many vehicles. We never once blocked the adjoining driveway or had too many vehicles. The contract said 4 spaces for vehicles. We also had two visitors there checking on things. Hvac needed to come in and some family member stopped by another day to check owners boat at dock. We have stayed at this location at least 4 years and never had so much contact with owner. We have always left the property clean and as we found it. Sorry that owner felt he needed help us with our vacation!We are grandparents and responsible adults. I understand this is a new owner per neighbor that we met. Sorry to say we will not be back here..we have already rented for next year at different locacation.

more to do than you can imagine!

The house was exactly as presented on line. There are 2 guest rooms and 2 other spaces suited for kids. These are not enclosed so if sounds are an issue bring a white noise machine. The boathouse is a big draw. Just a few steps from the house. Kayaks are provided as are SUPs which is very nice but we rented a pontoon boat as well to see the whole lake. The boathouse gets rocked pretty good with heavy boat traffic on the lake so pick your times to swim with that in mind. The house is very well stocked with things you might need and the view from the back is spectacular! We would definitely go back.

This place is such a find! Very clean, well supplied, nice linens, comfortable beds, extremely well-maintained, and so many fun activities. We enjoyed paddle boarding lounging and jumping off the top dock, grilling on the oversized grill, hanging out by the firepit for cool nights, and enjoying the spectacular views of the mountains. Highly recommend.

Amazing view and beautiful house

From the time we walked in, we were amazed by the attention to detail and the amenities provided by the owners (shampoo, paper towels, etc) which you certainly don’t find at beach rentals. The lake is unbelievable and is much bigger that I originally thought. We rented a pontoon boat for a few days from the Marina, and that was the perfect way to explore Lake James. You see it from all angles and appreciate the grayish mountain view in contrast to the green of the trees and the blue of the water. This property was perfect for our 3 boys, who had their own hangout downstairs with the foosball table and plenty of movies. We had our level, and we ate on the deck every night. Highly recommended, for a couple looking to get away (the Pagoda is very Zen) or a family wanting to experience the lake. It’s perfect either way.
