Very nice stay for a long weekend, Anna was really friendly and courteous, the cottage was very clean, well presented and we were reminded about little items, such as towels the day before arrival. The area is beautiful and ideally situated for hikers, but also a great base for sightseeing castles and landmarks.

We all had a wonderful time Hendy is a real beautiful old cottage with the the quirky little things you expect in a farmhouse. Breathtaking views across the countryside and of the mountains around.Very close to many places. Would recommend to anyone who wants to visit beautiful wales.
We stayed at Hendy for five days in April - you are close to the farmhouse but Hendy has it's own gate and garden so you will have your own space, the owners were very friendly and helpful when we saw them and we had no issues finding the property.
There is a long unpaved drive up to the cottage but we had no problem with this.
Hendy is a very quirky and sweet house, the fireplace in the living room is very impressive and the stairs winding up are lovely. Some furniture is a little old/tired and the shower upstairs doesn't work so I used the annexe shower instead which was much better.
The kitchen was well equipped with crockery and cookwear although no essentials provided food-wise so make sure you bring milk etc. It's roughly a 20 minute drive to the nearest big supermarket in Caernarvon and there is a well stocked shop in on the main street in Waunfawr. We did not realise until we arrived that electricity is paid for separately, I feel like this should be more clearly stated in the listing so we could budget for that too. We ended up paying £60+ in electricity for our stay which isn't extortionate but in my opinion should be factored in to the price of the stay.
The cottage was very well placed for walks straight from your door, numerous footpaths go straight from the garden gate so we walked all around that area but hadn't had time to go to half the places we wanted to by time we left! We would love to come back to Hendy again to explore more.
Absolutely amazing place to stay, very quiet, lovely walking literally on your doorstep, and very close to Snowdon. Cottage really nice and secluded with garden surrounded by safe wall and gate. Highly recommended especially if you have dog's!
Lonely cottage nice and quiet very close to railway
