A splendid property, perfect for a romantic break, situated in the seaside resort of Bridlington Old Town.. Ground Floor:
Living room: 32" Smart TV, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, DVD Player
Kitchen/dining room: Electric Oven, Electric Hob, Microwave, Fridge
Bedroom: Double (4ft 6in) Bed
Shower Room: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Private courtyard with sitting-out area and furniture. Shared garden. Parking for 1 car. Welcome pack. No smoking. Please note: No children.. Bridlington Old Town is a little gem tucked away in a quiet corner of the traditional seaside resort. Most people are unaware that this part of Bridlington exists as it’s away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront, yet within easy distance of all the amenities.
The Old Town has two festivals throughout the year, the summer and the winter festivals, and both give visitors the opportunity to explore the Old Town. The summer festival provides a wealth of concerts, exhibitions and events, whilst the Christmas festival provides a wonderful Dickensian feel to the Old Town, with lots of stalls, artists, performers and musicians. The Old Town also boasts some of the best restaurants in Bridlington.
Garden Cottage overlooks the village green and the Bayle Museum, a museum dedicated to the history of Bridlington and well worth a visit during your stay. The Old Town has retained most of its historical buildings, including the Priory Church, which is just at the other side of the green. Here you can try your hand at bell ringing or attend one of many musical events held throughout the year.
Just up the road you’ll find Sewerby Hall, a beautiful Georgian house set in stunning gardens, with a zoo and woodland walks. Sewerby is not the only stately home to visit, as Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall are just a short drive away. Bridlington is a traditional seaside resort with a large working harbour, long sandy beach and an award winning promenade. For evening entertainment the Spa Theatre has international acts, and you are assured a great evening out.
Garden Cottage is a great base to discover the east coast, as you are not far from Scarborough, Flamborough Head and Filey, and don’t forget the RSPB nature reserve at Bempton Cliffs, where you will see puffins and gannets in their natural habitat.
The medieval city of York is an hour away, where the York Minster stands proud overlooking the city. You can walk on top of the city walls, or take a leisurely river cruise or open top bus to see the sights. There is plenty to do in York, with an abundance of museums, the Railway Museum being one of the most popular.
The cottage is a quiet little retreat, ideal for couples wanting that break away with good restaurants, bars and entertainment all within walking distance. Beach 1½ miles. Shop 400 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
