About this property
Les gites Perard sleeps 8. Family-friendly and pets welcome. Pool
Perard is on the outskirts of La Salle a small hamlet 6 kms from the medieval town of Caylus. It is in a quiet and peaceful setting surrounded by farmland, ideally situated to visit the Gaillac and Cahors wine regions and within easy distance of Albi, Cahors, Montauban, Toulouse, the Lot valley and the Aveyron gorges. Horse riding, tennis, cycling, fishing and canoeing are available nearby, and there are a number of colourful markets and restaurants in the area.
The Offering: Converted from an old barn, the Grand Gite are two gîtes that are interconnected with a door and have 2 double rooms and 2 twin rooms. Open plan downstairs with 2 sitting / dining / kitchen areas and 2 bathrooms upstairs. The kitchens are fully equipped with gas cooker and induction hob, fridges freezer and automatic washing machines, dish washers, microwaves, coffee machines, toasters. Outside a patio and barbecues, and the garden overlooks superb views. The terraced pool (10 x 5 m) fully alarmed .
Location: The farmhouse is located in the Tarn-et-Garonne and this region offers a great diversity of landscapes (forests, meadows, farmed hillsides, deep valleys etc....) together with a great historical richness - castles of the middle ages, churches or simple stone farmhouses with their 'pigeonniers' (dove cote's) are very typical of this region. The Gorges of Aveyron and the picturesque town of St. Antonin Noble Val are only 10 minutes drive away. Don't forget to visit the Ingres museum in Montauban or the Lenoir museum in Montricoux. A little further, you will enjoy visits to Albi with its famous cathedral and Toulouse-Lautrec museum, Cordes sur Ciel, St Cirq la Poppie are very beautiful middle age villages, or the city of Toulouse, which is only 80 km away. There is a market almost everyday of the week in different villages Amenities: Caylus (3km) has all the amenities - doctors, dentist, pharmacy, bank, newsagent (Dutch and English papers available here) bakers, butchers, greengrocers, bars and a very good restaurant. There are also some larger supermarkets in Caussade, Villefranche de Rouergue and Montauban. A wide variety of sports are available in the area as well as many good restaurants where you will enjoy the pleasures of French cooking. Don't hesitate to ask for a restaurant recommendation for a nice meal.

About the host
Hosted by Farzana Tubby
We came to France to seek a slower pace of life. I live at Pérard with my 2 little dogs and 1 cat. Love gardening. My property now has a well tamed wild garden with flowers everywhere. I love going back to the UK at least once a year but love it more coming back to my little tranquil paradise.
Why they chose this property
I came on holiday to this property 25 years ago and rented the Gîtes. Immediately fell in love with the house. During that stay we asked if they wanted to sell and we waited 8 years to purchase it.
What makes this property unique
Rural setting with peace and quite. Away from it all. Unspoilt views and magnificent sunsets. No light pollution at night so a beautiful sky full of stars.
