Vacation cabin nestled in the trees on the banks of the Kootenai River with dock and float to tie your boat up. Come catch a trophy Rainbow Trout! This is a great summer retreat and playground. Cabin has one double bed, kitchen area microwave, and linens for bed and bathroom. There is a fire pit with wood to burn (campfire in the evening), picnic table, and gas barbecue for cooking. RV site available with cabin for extra fee if used with cabin. Cabin is closed October 15 to April 1.

We LOVED this beautiful cabin, footsteps from the Kootenai river! Watching the eagles in the morning, deer &#x1f98c;, wild turkeys, and more! There's a fire ring for some lovely evenings star gazing as well, a propane BBQ grill, and almost everything you'll need (The hostess literally had items there we'd forgotten to pack!) It's quiet, relaxing, and ... yes there's a train across the river, but it's dull rumble was not a bother at all. No blasting horns, bells, or whistles to be heard. We didn't even pay any attention at all after the first evening. It's truly a place we'd like to return to and cute cute cute!!!

This was our second time staying here. We love the quiet setting, the ability to unplug, and the chance to bring our dog. It’s simple, no frills, but perfect for what we needed.

A beautiful and peaceful spot to disconnect for a few days. The inside of the cabin is a bit more updated than the photos which was a nice suprise. We had a great time hanging out and fishing on the dock with our dog

A cute, private little cabin on the river with room for our dog to play. The check-in process was easy, the host was polite and the cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our weekend stay and would recommend this place to others.

The over all experience was okay just not what we pictured or understood it to be. The railroad was loud and disruptive to the otherwise peaceful setting, we were not able to get their internet or phone service until out on hwy 2 and it was spotty at best. All said we ended up staying 2 of the 4 days and emailed the owners but got no reply. Never did see or hear from the owners. If you want remote, off grid, rustic one room accommodations on a beautiful river with what looks like good fishing, like cargo trains, this may work for you. Bed was comfortable, chairs were comfortable, bathroom was adequate. Kitchen well stocked with all the essentials.Just disappointed it was not what we thought it was by the description.

We would have given a 5 but the type of online communication we received was unprofessional and uninformative. We also received online communication after our trip indicating that we had broken the dvd player, which we tried once, only to discover it wouldn't open. We used our own instead. Other than that we loved our stay at the cabin. Pictures don't do it justice! The scenic river and wildlife just outside the door are incredible! They also have full hook-ups for an RV. There are multiple trains that pass throughout the day and night. We loved it. There are many beautiful waterfalls, rivers and lakes that are swimmable and fishable in the region. Unfortunately, the locals warned us that Kootenai river is not safe for swimming or rafting because of undercurrents. They also said that the Kootenai is not good for fishing and agree. We kayaked and caught fish at Alvord, and Bull Lake. Kootenai Bridge and waterfall and the Yaak Falls are a must see. There is a swimming hole and places to fish at Yaak Falls campground. Glacier National Park was a 2 1/2 hour drive where we rafted the Flathead river. That's where you will get Huckleberry pie and other products. The people we met around Troy were nice. There is no cell service or wifi unless you go down to the end of the street for 2 bars or into the towns. In person, Signa and Cindy were nice. I wouldn't return to this property, but I would to this area.

This is my favorite get away! No phone service, no internet and completely peaceful. I love camp fires and Signe supplied all the wood I needed and her hospitality is wonderful. We, my dog and I, ended up staying 7 days and I never want too go home. Troy is fantastic, no construction everywhere, no traffic and very friendly people where ever you go!

Getting away from it all

Everything about the stay was wonderful. It's a very private area with lots of room in the front yard to play with our dog. The back gave a wonderful view of the river. We loved counting thr train cars that went by across the river. The location was close to many hikes that we enjoyed.

It is very small. Three night minimum stay but fridge is to small to hold food for that many days if you are cooking. Bring your own lawn chairs for none are provided. Fire pit outside but no wood (care taker brought some our last night there). Super peaceful even with the trains going by all night. Bring a canoe or paddle board and enjoy the beautiful water

Where the eagles fly

We rented this cabin for a birthday getaway, and could not have been happier. There is simply not a better place to stay. Beautiful location, quiet neighborhood, great fishing, eagles flying over the river just yards from the dock. It is a little slice of heaven with trains, that you hardly notice. Thank you the great time. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely property on the river, my dog JoJo and I loved the peace and solitude. Signe was wonderful and so helpful. Unlimited firewood, clean, tidy space with everything you need. I'll be back!
