Our family absolutely loved staying here, our hosts were the best and no request was too hard. Dewa was fantastic in navigating the Bali traffic and making sure we arrived safely at our destinations and Dayu’s cooking was delicious, her pancakes were a real treat for the kids!! Would recommend this property for any family holidays, 5 stars from us!!

Fantastic break… didn’t want to leave

The villa itself is beautiful, clean and spacious. The beds and towels were lovely, the pool was beautiful. The two special helpers in the house, were so friendly and accomodating. They made it truly special, and the meals were superb.

This villa was fantastic. Diu+Dewar (the staff) were wonderful - such lovely people and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. We would recommend this villa for a relaxing,fully equipped holiday where all you have to do is bring your suitcase! Try the Rock Bar for an amazing view!

Villa Rama Rama provided a perfect place for our family holiday this year in Feb/March. We were there last year also and found it so great, that we were eager to return! Family Reunion and celebration

It was all we had hoped for. Family from three countries meeting for a week in Bali. We loved the spacious villa and pool area which was well euipped to manage a group of 8 adults and 4 children. Most special about our time there were the family who run the villa. We didnt want to cook and enjoyed the most delicious breakfasts and Balinese style dinners including mouth watering seafood BBQs. There is always a car and driver on hand for trips to the beach or shops at minimal costs. An all round relaxing and enjoyable trip for us.

Great family stay

What a beautiful spot for a family reunion. All fourteen of us enjoyed the pool and great view of ocean and kites from the raised gazebo and lounge chairs. Breezes are refreshing and while we appreciated air conditioning for sleeping, never felt a need for it during the day. The kitchen was well equipped and great for making breakfast and occasional lunch. There are numerous interior spaces hospitable to playing children or lazy adults. The owner was responsive to our inquiries and provided an informative letter with information about things to do. The staff is outstanding. Dayu is a marvelous cook and several nights we dined in on traditional Indonesian food or grilled fish. Dewa cheerfully and expertly drove us all over. Together they were a very helpful team who contributed to the enjoyment of the stay. I would gladly rent here again.

This property did really save our Bali vacation

The villa staff was so friendly and helpfult, that I really would come back just due to that reason. I do not give the property 5 stars because of two things: the staff English language skills and the fact that the property is some driving distance to places-of-interest. However those two minor details was almost wiped out completely. The view wax great The staff was out of this world helpful - even though communication was done by waving hands etc at times. The food cooked by the staff was greater than any of the restaurants we visited (don't bother restaurants). I recommend this to all visitors that like to have a relaxing visit at Bali. Bali have a perfect climate, however the country have a garbage problem. So just stay at the villa. Do some shopping (don't bother with the fakes - they are really bad quality at most places). And have good food and massage at the villa. The owner is also very nice doing business with!g We would go back some day. But a lot more places to visit before we do that. Thanks!

Hi Norway, I'm a little disappointed that we didn’t get the 5 star score of our previous renters, but understand that wasn’t necessarily down to the villa. Re. the language, they are learning all the time (and you are the first to mention that frustration). I'm glad you loved the villa, but just wish you had told us about not knowing where to go, or where to find great restaurants. There is a file at the house with our favorites in it. Otherwise I wish you would have emailed me to give some assistance. Saying that, everyone does comment on Diu's cooking and her food being 'out of this world'. Regarding places to visit, yes Ubud is an hour away and many places of interest are there. Other than that, some would same we are ideally situated close to Uluwatu (a must visit) and all of the best beaches in Bali. Were also close to Nusa Dua, 5 mins from the championship golf course, paint-balling, camel riding etc etc etc (we also include the 7 seater with driver free of charge to assist you (many villas charge us$50 per day)) For anyone reading this, and considering staying at Villa Rama Rama, please feel free to ask as many questions as you wish re. Thing’s to do etc. I spend half my time in Bali hence probably can really help make your dream holiday. I am also more than happy to do so. Take care Norway. We hope to see you again soon PT

The Butterfly Villa

What an unbelievable experience from when Dewa came to pick us up from the airport to the end. The amenities are ridiculous.. from the housekeepers providing outstanding service from your cooking needs, cleanliness, hospitality, and experience to be in Jimbaran, Bali. Our stay was for 9 days and we came for my sisters wedding. We loved how many bedrooms were available for our family and friends to go in and out. The villa is all open space and lots of air that comes in especially when it’s humid. Dayu is an amazing head boss of the villa and whatever needs from cooking or self needs she is so happy to help! But make sure to take care of them as they do a lot for the guests and villa! The pool isn’t too deep and the beautiful butterfly tiles set the vibe! The hut outside is beautiful to cozy up but make sure to use big repellent. There is a massive massage room downstairs so make sure to get your massages in. Everything is impeccable and takes minutes to go grocery shopping and Dewa will take care of your guide needs! Thank you Villa Rama Rama! I’m coming back again!!

Fabulous stay! We’ll definitely return!

We had a phenomenal stay! The live-in villa staff, Dewa and Dayu, very quickly became family. They made our time in the villa spectacular. Every meal we had was better than the last and the talk of the evening. The views from the villa are unbeatable. The pool, sunbathing chairs, and cabana were amazing. The massage room and massage therapists who came to the villa made our evenings feel luxurious. We stayed in this villa our entire time in Bali and all of our tours left from there - even the ones to Mt. Batur and all over Ubud. There was some evening traffic to contend with, but we were always happy to be returning to the villa and are glad we did not decide to split our time between the villa and somewhere in Ubud. The entire villa was cleaned every day. Our laundry would be folded and ready for us each morning. The only minor inconvenience for our entire stay was that the water pressure and temperature mixing grew progressively worse as you went higher in the villa. The top floor water pressure was fine for the boys but wasn’t enough for the girls to wash their hair, and the water was either quite hot or cool. No problems on the first floor, and no real complaints about the second floor. Despite the minor shower inconveniences, we will definitely look to book here first when we next visit Bali. The morning we left for the airport, there were tears all around as we hugged Dayu goodbye and Dewa helped load up the vehicles ready to take us to the airport. See you again soon, Villa Rama-Rama!

Awesome HomeAway experience!

What a great vacation we had with our son and daughter in-law and 3 grands. The house had plenty of room for everyone! Our two favourite things about the house was the infinity pool and Daiu’s cooking. You must take advantage of her Indonesian cooking. She also makes an awesome western breakfast with some of the best pancakes I’ve tasted. We truly enjoyed our time at Villa RamaRama and could not have been happier with the whole experience. The owner(Peter) was easy to keep in Touch with and answered any and all questions in a very timely fashion. It was really nice having a driver, Dewa available if you wanted to go out and about. Since this is a review and I like to be completely honest there were a few things I would point out. There is only air conditioning in the bedrooms. So, if your not happy about being hot and sticky you may not like it. The pool came in handy to keep us cooled off most of the time so it was fine for us. One other thing, there is a house under construction right next door. They did not start working too early or work late so in terms of interrupting sleep that was not an issue. However, they are there working during the day. The other issue is unfortunately they are Interrupting some of the view. There is still plenty of beautiful views so I would not let that deter you from staying. I would recommend Villa RamaRama for anyone who needs plenty of space. The villa was great and the staff was even better. Thanks for an awesome Christmas 2019!

Dear Michael and Belinda, Thank you for your review. We’re glad you had a great vacation and an awesome Christmas 2019. I did want to reply with a couple of notes as although you still had a great time and recommend people to stay at our villa, some things you mention may be taken the wrong way by readers. With the hot and stickiness, I’m afraid you must have come at a freak week. Since we enjoy an elevated position on the hill, it's generally always a few degrees cooler than at sea level which along with the breezes we enjoy 95%+ of the time make it generally very comfortable (and often an absolute relief to return to after a hot day away from the villa). The design as you get in Bali (tropical villas) is indoor/outdoor living, hence windows are all sliding and we do have fans throughout. With the size of the villa it would be near impossible to air condition since you talking about over 100m2 common area on the first floor and 7m+ high ceilings on the 2nd floor. So generally it’s much more comfortable than at sea level and being on the hill with natural breezes, there are few (if any) mosquitoes you would get at lower altitudes. With regards the construction, they have built a villa and it is already close to construction completion (which will be finished in the next couple of months), however if you have your favourite music on the sound system or the portable speakers provided, again you can’t hear any construction noise. Villa Rama Rama is at the end of a private tarmacked road. With that, there is usually zero noise, hence you may have noticed the construction. Soon we will return to the 100% peace and quiet (but close enough to nearby action when renters want to join in). Also with a portion of the view being lost, I doubt you would have noticed if the villa being built was already complete, since we still have 90% of what we had. Thank you for still recommending our villa. All the reviews we have are pre renovation (with yourselves only the 2nd group to stay since completion) hence the villa is actually even better than it was. We also haven’t increased the price hence renters have an absolute gem and a bargain for their holiday. Two weeks of bliss

Our family enjoyed every moment. The grandchildren were very well catered for and we would have had no problem with leaving them with Dayu, the children absolutely loved her as she did them. Dewa took us wherever we wanted and his knowledge of the restaurants and places to visit were second to none. The dance group, fishing, massages, elephants, temples, beach, monkeys, bird park, chocolate cake, zoo, cooking with the children and pancakes. Just can't thank Dayu and Dewa enough for taking care of our family. Two weeks of bliss.

Amazing house for a large group

Absolutely perfect! Without sounding like everyone else beforehand, this is truly a magnificent place. Peter was super helpful and quick to reply, the house itself is just as described (spacious, clean, very comfortable, amazing pool) but the real highlight indeed are Dewa and Diu, who are on site and are just the friendliest. Always smiling, nothing is too hard and very good at maintaining this beautiful house. Dewa gave us tips to local places and was always on time to pick us up as requested. Diu is the most amazing cook (just have the BBQ that everyone describes - we didn't end up eating out), and helped organise massages on site. This was an amazing stay for us! Dewa is a great driver, but if you have a large group and need to get a taxi/Grab, sometimes the local drivers needed a bit of help as the villa is on a quiet street (ask Dewa/Diu to help with ordering ahead of time/giving directions). Absolutely recommend this place!

The stand out being the staff at the house, the food alone is worth staying and the ability to have a driver when and wherever you need is brilliant! I would more than happily stay here again.

Beautiful Home on a Hill

Beautiful home perched on a hill with amazing views; a perfect place for some rest and relaxation. The staff is amazing and as sweet as they come!!! Having a knowledge driver to show us around relieved the stress of having to figure it out on our own and having home cooked meals after weeks of traveling made it hard to leave. Peter is responsive, kind and accommodating. Highly recommended! We hope to visit again someday.

Glorious Views in Peaceful setting

The Villa was exactly as described. Glorious views all over Bali, lovely quiet setting and plenty of room to move. The pool area was the place my friends and I used the most as the pool was fantastic and plenty of sun spot and shade spots to while away the day. The villa is quite seclude, which we loved, however the use of car and Dewa as a driver enabled us to get out and about when we wanted. We ate at the Villa lots as the food was amazing, Dui even got a cooking lesson which was fantastic. Villa was clean and well presented with plenty of room for the 5 ladies who were staying. The option of in-house massage, pedicure etc was a real bonus and we were daily customers. Diu and Dewa made us feel like part of their family and we loved staying at the Villa. Would recommend staying, especially if you enjoy the quietness and the panoramic views. Lovely cool breezes and drinks by the pool were a daily ritual. Would love to return.

Incredible Villa & Amazing Hospitality

We have just returned from a trip of a lifetime, largely thanks to the accommodations and staff of this villa. The house, pool, lounges, etc. leave nothing to be desired but as most reviews mention, it’s Diu and Dewa that make this the best choice on the island. We met far away family here and the care, cooking, laundry, advice, driving and all around attention to detail provided by Diu and Dewa allowed us to truly enjoy our quality time with our children and far away family. We didn’t worry about a thing as she handled all meals in house if we were staying in (ribs, prawns, snapper, fried rice, satay, breakfast - all to die for) and if going out Dewa provided excellent recommendations and let us know what was and wasn’t possible in the timeframes we had. The house was perfect for us, allowing us to spread out and have all the bathrooms needed to get ready all at the same time. The beds were very comfortable and the living spaces were great for multiple activities at one time. And then there are the views. From the pool, the upper floor, the master balcony...they are just amazing. The pool is deep throughout and was hands down the the kids favorite thing. They enjoyed being able to jump in from any side and not worry but if have non-swimmers be sure to bring a puddle-jumper as there is no shallow end. Peter was extremely responsive and helpful (take his advice on Sundara - AMAZING!). He truly has a gem of a setup here and he and his staff are excellent hosts. If you are like me and are debating between resort and villa and then which villa, do yourself a favor and just book this one. You won’t regret it!

wonderful vacation home

Our family loved this beautiful vacation home. It is roomy, luxurious, with a great outdoor view, wonderful pool. The staff are incredible with delicious meals and ready to take you wherever you need and can give some excellent suggestions of places to visit. On-site massages are an extra delight. A great way to visit Bali. The owner is very accessible and helpful.

Amazing villa for families on beautiful Bali

We have just had the most amazing holiday at villa Rama Rama with three generations of our family meeting halfway(ish) between the UK and New Zealand. We were 11 people in total with four children - three 3 year olds and one 6yrs and grandparents - and the space inside and out was just fantastic for all. The pool is great with nice relaxing outside space and the views are amazing from high up on the hill overlooking the sea and it is less humid being higher up. The bedrooms are very comfortable with air conditioning and with two rooms on each floor it works out brilliantly for the different generations to have their own space and bathrooms! But probably the best thing about the villa is the wonderful Dewa and dayu - a couple who look after you while you stay. Dewa picked us up from the airport and basically drove us wherever we wanted to go during our stay, we just paid for the petrol. He had excellent suggestions for day trips and waits for you during a visit to be there when you are ready to come back to the villa. The wonderful Dayu prepared our meals whenever we wanted to eat and we just paid for the food shopping which she also does and then provides the receipts. Dayu is the most amazing cook and everything she prepared for us was delicious, especially the BBQ ribs and fish and fish curries she made. She would also cook pasta or other meals for the children earlier if asked. She also did the washing up and also washed and ironed our laundry which weren't expecting. This made it a perfect restful holiday not having to shop, cook and do any washing. There is also a spa room downstairs and beauticians come in to give a massage or other treatments when we booked, often at short notice. Finally, the owner Peter was very helpful and responsive in advance and during the trip with any questions about the villa or our trip. I thoroughly recommend this villa which is just perfect for a family holiday in a wonderful villa and we were so looked after by Dewa and dayu - we wanted to take them home with us but Peter told us not to steal them!

Great group family holiday

We booked this villa on recommendation from other friends and we are so glad we did. We had 3 families, 6 adults and 5 children. We were greeted by Dawa (our driver) at the airport and everything from our arrival was smooth sailing. Dewa's wife Diu had arranged for beers to be chilled in the fridge, the filtered water was all bottled and plumbed directly into the fridge. We utilised all 6 bedrooms which were all cleaned daily, washing and ironing (including underwear!) were laid out on the bed for us every day. We had most of our meals in the villa and Diu cooked separate meals for the children, the seafood and curry banquet was amazing, Diu can cook anything you require. Breakfast was always ready and waiting when we woke. Dewa drove us out to Seminyak and Kuta (a bit of a drive to be honest) and waited patiently for us to return, even in the evening. Diu is so experienced with kids and would happily feed, bath and put the kids to bed, and watch them at night when we all the adults ventured out for dinner. There is a spa room in which massage therapist come when you request, at $15 AUD this was amazing. The pool is huge and we spent hours with the kids swimming around, there is two pool fences which put my mind at ease, however be mindful there is quite a big drop over the edge at one side of the pool, it would be hard to fall over as there is quite a bit of space between the pool and the drop, unless someone was being careless or kids were playing over that side unsupervised. There are gates at the top and bottom of the stairs, however they are quite steep and I probably wouldn't recommend families with kids under 2 stay on the top floor. Overall it was a brilliant stay and we are going back for two weeks in March, some people may be put off by the location as it is quite a drive into Seminyak and Kuta, however this suited us as the views from the villa were amazing and we enjoyed the laid back feel up in the hills, and it was not an issue for Dewa to drive us anywhere we wanted.

Out of this world family holiday

We’ve just returned from a fantastic holiday in Bali (late August) where one of the highlights was our stay at Villa Rama Rama. The location is perfect – being at the top of the hill ensures a pleasant breeze and views from the infinity pool and balconies that simply take your breath away at all times of the day. The villa is very spacious and it met every need our family had … a spa area for relaxing, a cinema style projector where we could watch the latest movies, lots of space for playing games both indoors and outdoors, and large bedrooms so everyone could have their private space. We were also indulged by the kindness and hospitality of Dewa and Dayu, who always had great suggestions for anything we needed, cooked wonderful meals for the family (accommodating different allergies and tastes) and allowed us to totally relax and concentrate solely on enjoying ourselves. A special thanks also goes to Peter for sharing his family’s wonderful villa with us … we’ll be back.

Paradise above it all in Bali-This is THE place!

Our family of five and 4 adult friends from the US & Australia all had the pleasure of staying in this magical villa above it all in Bali! It was truly paradise and the ultimate place to relax away from the busyness of the city below. Nestled on the top of a large hill, with views of the water surround you, and there is a wonderful constant breeze which was a welcome delight from the heat below. We were greeted with a huge smile from Dewa (pronounced Day-Wah) our driver and resident caretaker of the property upon arriving at the airport. I have never met a more skilled driver in my life. (The streets of Bali are hectic to say the least and we always felt safe with Dewa behind the wheel.) He took us all over Bali to beaches near and far as we had surfers in our group; as well as Ubud, Canggu to Tanah Lot & countless other places always with a smile. Once you are at the Villa you will be greeted by Dewa's lovely wife Daiu (pronounced Die-you) She will greet you in the mornings with coffee and make you breakfast or any meal, you just have to pay for the groceries and tip her & Dewa for their incredible service!! She made our group the most magnificent BBQ feast of a whole Snapper fresh off the fishing boat, Shrimp, Ribs, Chicken & Beef satay, rice, potato salad, green salad and fresh vegetables. It was ALL AMAZING. The Villa itself is beautiful in lush, serene surroundings that are well maintained. The place is huge with lots of room to spread out for larges groups, the bedrooms all had very comfortable beds and plenty of air-conditioning. Wifi was also very good for those who can't seem to shut down.The pool is lovely and the Pagoda is heaven to just read, relax or take a nap.There is an onsite massage room below the pool which Diu can arrange massages for you. We took advantage of this almost every day. She can also arrangements for facials, manicures & pedicures which we had done as well. Dewa & Daiu are SO kind and such generous people, we wanted to take them home with us! They made our trip the most memorable and we are truly grateful to know them. Don't look any further, this is THE place to stay!!!

Ive lived in SE Asia now for 22 years, and although from an investment background, have worked in holiday properties the last 10 years, so know a thing or two about holiday villa's. I have have two lovely (most of the time ;) boys aged 14 and 17.

Why they chose this property

Being on the hill is breathtaking. Its peaceful, and you have the cool breezes that make it very comfortable and with very few if any mosquitoes. (the south also has notably less rain than the rest of Bali hence you can enjoy sunshine and see rain and dark clouds over the rest of Bali).

The villa is huge, so plenty of space. Having a spa there is awesome. Its an amazing villa to chill/relax at (and you have the driver when you want to go out). It's also worth noting that you're surrounded by the best beaches in Bali, all within easy reach, but also close to Jimbaran, so ideally located to adventure to the North of the island.

The villa is also ideal for multiple families or generations, as there is so much space (you can have privacy when you need it) and facilities on site. For smaller children, its very child friendly and we have all the facilities you could need. It's also great with the table tennis and pool tables for family fun.

The staff are amazing and have been with us since the villa since built and cover all needs including cleaning, laundry, baby sitting, driving, and they are truly amazing cooks.

The villa is such a great environment, when we've had friends stay, often the most difficult thing is getting them to get them out of the villa. Please do take a look at the reviews, or contact us if you have any questions.

Newly refurbished. Excellent views. Cool breezes. Great sound system. Comfy beds. Pool table. Table Tennis. Jacuzzi. Massive flat screen TV in the lounge and in bedrooms. The best Bale Gazebo in Bali ;)

The staff are amazing and honestly cook (and were foodie's) some of the best food we've ever tasted.

They're also amazing with Children, hence you can be 100% confident of their safety and happiness if you need some time away from the kids.

Also having the spa with its two beds is fantastic. 1.5hrs massage is less than US$10 - affordable enough to enjoy every day :)
