About this property
Large Holiday Home | 5 bedrooms | Heated Pool | Gym | Games room | No pets
This lovely property is waiting to welcome you for your festive break.
La Petite Maison is a lovely, cosy home in a quiet, rural setting. Furnished with modern fixtures and fittings set in approx an acre of land.
Surrounded by farm land, fields and woods, it is a peaceful spot to enjoy the countryside while still being able to explore some great french villages and towns.
Open the front door to the large entrance hall; with a garden to the rear with its raised stone patio area and brick built bbq set into lush greenery.
All 5 of the bedrooms in this property have a generously sized bed, TV/dvd player with freeview and satellite with English and French television/radio channels.
Each bedroom has ensuite facilities and the master suites have their own large bathroom with walk-in shower, separate soaker tub, handbasin and separate WC. Guests are provided with complimentary bathroom toiletries. The rooms have hospitality trays with tea/coffee making facilities. We also provide a cot in the main bedroom for use by our younger guest, with a highchair in the dining area.
There is an additional WC on the ground floor and second floor landing.
The salon is spacious and airy with a sofa, large sofabed and a wood burner. The dining room is cosy and welcoming with room for all guests to sit together and enjoy home cooked meals.
The fully fitted kitchen has a great breakfast bar around with gorgeous, comfy bar stools, ideal for enjoying your delicious French breakfast.
La Petite Maison has a utility room in the basement with washing machine and tumble drier as well as clothes airers (so you don't have to take home any dirty laundry!) There is an iron and ironing board on site.
A lot of the comments I get from guests usually start with "WoW! The photos don't do it justice".
Complimentary WIFI is provided throughout (please note that due to our rural location, the signal may sometimes be intermittent).
For guests with an electric vehicle, an EV charger is situated in the courtyard.
There are two other properties on the site; Le Moulin, a larger property that sleeps 15 and Le Petit Gite which sleeps 4-5.
The fully equipped Leisure Complex is located across the courtyard, fronted by a patio area with seating. This is shared facility. It is available for the use of all guests; children should be supervised at all times and especially when in the pool area. There is a heated pool, changing rooms and lockers, along with showers and two WCs and handwash basin.
The gym is equipped with a smith rack with weights, treadmill, stationary bike, cross trainer, rowing machine as well as reebok step and exercise mat.
Leading upstairs to the games room with table tennis table, snooker table, pool table.
The property benefits from being located in a large courtyard with secure entry via private gates.
The large main garden benefits from a raised deck with a barbecue and seating area next to a boules court.
The patio area at the front of the property is furnished with tables and chairs. We also provide a charcoal barbecue for guest use (seasonal).
On confirmation of your reservation, all guests are provided with a detailed Welcome Pack with information about the accommodation and an itinerary of places to visit and activities.
All bookings include bedding, complimentary bathroom toiletries, kitchen utensils and linens and car parking.
We have a Nespresso machine for guests (we provide a few pods to start you off) along with a tea pot and cafetière.
We also supply our guests with a complimentary Welcome Basket of items.
Note:
* For the benefit of all our guests, we operate a no smoking policy on the site
* For the benefit of all our guests, we are a pet free site. There will be a charge of 250€ levied for any unauthorised animal in the property/on the site.

About the host
Hosted by DORN KIPPING
Hello, I'm Dorn and I live in Buckinghamshire, UK with my husband and children. My hobbies include fitness, cookery and eating!
We enjoy our leisure time and have loved holidaying in France for the last 20+ years.
Le Moulin de la Quentiniere has been a labour of love for us and we are still as passionate about it now as when we first saw it, perhaps more so actually :o)
We continually strive to ensure that it is bringing as much joy to our guests as it does to us.

Why they chose this property
I am sometimes asked "why Desertines? What made you buy this property?"
It was a week day late night 'surfing the internet' session when I came across the for sale details of Le Moulin de la Quentiniere. My husband and I decided to come over and take a look that weekend and, impulsively, bought it on the spot!
When we first saw it, we fell in love with the beautiful buildings, the tranquility of the area and the quiet, rural location.
Many, many months of hard graft, lots of broken finger nails (you feel my pain, don't you girls?) as well as the fun of decorating each bedroom, choosing paint and furniture, going on mega shopping sprees for crockery, cutlery, etc and Le Moulin de la Quentniere is now almost the vision we envisaged so long ago.
Le Moulin de la Quentiniere has the ideal picturesque setting with the local village only a 15 minute walk down the road and the nearest town around a 15 minute drive away.
Although you do need a car to get around, it means you have more opportunities to explore and go further afield with Le Moulin de la Quentiniere as a welcome base to return to.
We have dedicated a lot of time and energy enhancing the beauty and attraction of both of our houses at Le Moulin de la Quentiniere; adding the leisure complex and re-seeding the garden so that we have both an indoor and an outdoor area where we can play as well as adding the patio area so that we can enjoy both staying in or going out and about. We built a raised deck with a fully equipped barbecue and seating area along with a pétanque terrain. (This was officially opened by our Mayor in August 2019, it was so exciting for us).
At Le Moulin de la Quentiniere, we are easily accessible by car via the ferry at Ouistreham or St Malo, or the Eurotunnel then driving down from Calais, or coming in via the airports at Rennes or Dinard.
I love coming over to spend time here, welcoming guests and seeing their pleasure at being in such a lovely place.

What makes this property unique
Le Moulin de la Quentiniere benefits from its quiet, rural setting. Surrounded by farm land, fields and woods, it is a lovely peaceful spot to enjoy the tranquility of escaping from the hustle and bustle of city life.
As well as being able to spend time relaxing and enjoying Le Moulin de la Quentiniere and the surroundings, for those with more active pursuits in mind we have the Leisure Complex - complete with pool, gymnasium, games room - or you can take the time to explore the area (we have some leaflets and maps on site and there are maps to loan are available at the local tourist information centre in town).
There are an abundance of places to go - we can provide you with some suggestions for local attractions including gardens, historical sights, bars, restaurants; outdoor markets, medieval towns, bowling alleys, go-karting centres, outdoor high wire, swin golf, nearby horse-riding, boating lakes, kayaking, amusement parks, fishing lakes, tennis centres, or just walking, so much to do....
Once you've exhausted yourself, come back to Le Moulin de la Quentiniere and have a wonderful meal in the fantastic kitchen - we can arrange for your own cook to come and prepare you a meal - or try some of the local 'plat du jour' at the many restaurants (I am partial to the delicious croissants from the local boulangerie and you MUST try the café gourmand - 3/4 mini versions of some of the most delicious french desserts, oh my, they are soooo good!!)
