About this property
Family sized Holiday Home - 5 big bedrooms | heated pool | games room | no pets
Book this lovely holiday home for your 2025 home away from home :)
Le Moulin is a large, picturesque house set in approx an acre of land. It benefits from its quiet, rural setting, surrounded by farm land, fields and woods.
Le Moulin has a fantastic amount of living space with each of the 5 spacious bedroom suites measuring 400 sq ft!! (Imagine the average hotel suite and double it!) A lot of the comments I get from guests usually start with "the photos don't do it justice".
Each of the suites is furnished with a contemporary kingsize 'zip and link' bed (which means we are able to offer either a kingsize bed or separate single beds in each room).
The suite is completed with a cosy sitting room with double sofa bed, flatscreen TV with both freeview and satellite with access to both English, French and foreign language television and radio channels, and a DVD player .
The lounge area has a hospitality tray with complimentary tea and coffee making facilities.
Each suite is complemented by a large bathroom with deep soaker tub, separate shower unit, handwash basins. There is under floor heating throughout. Complimentary bathroom toiletries are provided.
The ground floor TV room has a 50-inch flatscreen and DVD player. There are two armchairs and occasional table tucked away next to two large sofas.
We can provide a cot and highchair for our younger guest.
Complimentary WIFI is provided throughout (please note that due to our rural location, the signal can sometimes be intermittent).
The ground floor has a fully fitted kitchen - hob and oven, Rayburn, full-size microwave, tall fridge. All crockery and cutlery is provided for our guests - cookware and ovenware, kitchen utensils and linen, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine (we provide a few pods but please feel free to bring extra pods with you) and cafétieres, chopping boards, toaster.
The kitchen sits next to a large dining area. There are three 8-seater tables with dining chairs and a highchair for a younger guest. A wine cooler is available for you to keep those lovely bottles chilled for cosy evenings in.
The first floor houses a grand salon for receptions, conferences and group meetings. At the end of the salon is a private games room with table tennis table, pool table and table football. There are two bucket chairs and a table with reading lamp.
There are two other properties on the site: La Petite Maison, which sleeps 10-12, and Le Petit Gite, which sleeps 4-5.
The fully equipped Leisure Complex is located across the courtyard, fronted by a picturesque patio area with seating.
The Leisure Complex is available for the use of all guests - children should be supervised at all times and especially when in the pool area. There is a 13m indoor pool, changing rooms and lockers, along with showers, WCs and handwash basin.
The gym is equipped with a Smith rack with weights, treadmill, stationary bike and rowing machine as well as a reebok step, Swiss ball and exercise mat. Leading upstairs to the games room with table tennis table, snooker table, pool table.
There are irons, ironing boards and hair dryers in the property.
Le Moulin benefits from being located at the end of a large courtyard with secure entry via private gates.
The large main garden is lawned and has a decked barbecue area and boules court.
There is a patio area in front of the property with tables and chairs. We also provide each property with a portable charcoal barbecue (seasonal).
On confirmation of your reservation, all guests are provided with a detailed Welcome Pack with information about their accommodation, a selection of local restaurants, places to visit and activities.
All bookings include bedding, kitchen utensils, linens, free WIFI and car parking.
We also supply our guests with a complimentary Welcome Basket with a selection of items from the following: bottled water, milk, butter, cheese, crackers, tea and coffee, sugar, juice, cooking oil, salt and pepper, herbs.
Note:
- For the benefit of all of our guests, we operate a No Smoking policy in all areas on the site.
- For the benefit of all of our guests, we are a Pet Free site. There will be a charge of 250€ levied for any unauthorised animal in the property/on the site.

About the host
Hosted by DORN KIPPING

Hello, I'm Dorn and I live in Buckinghamshire, UK with my husband and children. My hobbies include fitness, cookery and eating!
We enjoy our leisure time and have loved holidaying in France for the last 20+ years.
Le Moulin de la Quentiniere has been a labour of love for us and we are still as passionate about it now as when we first saw it, perhaps more so actually :o)
We continually strive to ensure that it is bringing as much joy to our guests as it does to us.

Why they chose this property
I am sometimes asked "why Desertines? What made you buy this property?"
It was a week day late night 'surfing the internet' session when I came across the for sale details of Le Moulin de la Quentiniere. My husband and I decided to come over and take a look that weekend and, impulsively, bought it on the spot!
When we first saw it, we fell in love with the beautiful buildings, the tranquility of the area and the quiet, rural location.
Many, many months of hard graft, lots of broken finger nails (you feel my pain, don't you girls?) as well as the fun of decorating each bedroom, choosing paint and furniture, going on mega shopping sprees for crockery, cutlery, etc and Le Moulin de la Quentniere is now almost the vision we envisaged so long ago.
Le Moulin de la Quentiniere has the ideal picturesque setting with the local village only a 15 minute walk down the road and the nearest town around a 15 minute drive away.
Although you do need a car to get around, it means you have more opportunities to explore and go further afield with Le Moulin de la Quentiniere as a welcome base to return to.
We have dedicated a lot of time and energy enhancing the beauty and attraction of both of our houses at Le Moulin de la Quentiniere; adding the leisure complex and re-seeding the garden so that we have both an indoor and an outdoor area where we can play as well as adding the patio area so that we can enjoy both staying in or going out and about. We built a raised deck with a fully equipped barbecue and seating area along with a pétanque terrain. (This was officially opened by our Mayor in August 2019, it was so exciting for us).
At Le Moulin de la Quentiniere, we are easily accessible by car via the ferry at Ouistreham or St Malo, or the Eurotunnel then driving down from Calais, or coming in via the airports at Rennes or Dinard.
I love coming over to spend time here, welcoming guests and seeing their pleasure at being in such a lovely place.

What makes this property unique
Le Moulin de la Quentinière is a unique property in our area of Désertines; a beautifully restored flour mill which gives modern living accommodation in a lovely rural setting. The property is spacious enough to enjoy both time together as a group and to be able to have time on your own. We have ensured that there is plenty to do with the onsite leisure complex with pool, gym and games room, as well as providing patio furniture and a bbq for alfresco fun.
