Beware of this property

When I checked in, I was stunned to learn it was a tiny 1 bedroom property, on VRBO it was said to be 2 bedroom. In the bedroom, you had to inch along the bed with your back scraping the wall. There were no instructions on how to use the washer, so not usable. It was incredibly hot, so I handwashed my clothes. There was a long period, when I checked in, in which I was pressured to decide if I was going to stay there or go to my friends in Arco Felice. I decided to stay for a few days. I discovered that the walls contained ants and they attack even a drop of overlooked food. I got ant spray the next day and used it every. I also used it for the termites that pushed through the wall in a swarm. Gennaro or someone parched the hole the next, but that night, several hit me as I was at the table. When I would pull back the cover over the sheets, there were be 2 or 3 termites. They pushed through the tile next to the bed. I coated them with the ant spray or stomped the ones that survived the spray. Gennaro was mad that I refused to buy him a new cover for the single bed, used as a chair. My small, white Pomeranian. had peed on the bottom of it that touched the floor. He did that the first day we were there. I said he could just wash it, but he was insisted that no one would wash it....I checked with the laundry I used several times and they would have done it, but I assumed he would just use his washer, but he refused. I would have done it, but as I stated before, no directions. Of course, my asthma was terrible the whole stay, from the termites, even if I used my inhaler. The termites were next to the bed. It got to be that I delayed going to bed until I could make sure I would fall asleep immediately. Gennaro did act as a conduit to messages with relatives, until I got a telephone that worked in Italy (it was $35 for 250 minutes and a phone AND a passport and stub from flight). Gennaro said dogs were not allowed in the apartment, but the VRBO site said "pets welcomed". I mentioned in e-mails that Jimbeau was coming with me. Gennero said it was a good idea not to come with guests, as it was a small site. I was going to have friends come for a visit in the non-existant second bedroom. When I returned, Gennaro e-mailed my daughter and indicated I broke a lamp. I was in the apartment when the 2 cleaners had cleaned the room and didn't mention it. I would never suggest this is a property in which to consider staying.
Response from VrboOwner on 25 March 2020
I state that Mrs. Virginia is 90 years old and arrived alone in Naples, alone with her dog, without a telephone, without any means of communication. Virginia had to meet Ilaria, a friend of hers from Pozzuoli in the 1970s, but she didn't speak Italian, and Ilaria didn't speak English, so I talked to him as she didn't have the slightest contact. I took a day off at work to accompany Mrs. Virginia to meet with this Signora Ilaria. All free, all this just for pleasure and never asking for anything. The following days I am always treated as a telephone switchboard, hundreds of calls always at my expense. Virginia says she's booked on VRBO, but I've never posted my home on this portal, but on Homeaway. The bedroom is one and is written, the house is 30 square meters and is written, so no surprise. The washing machine is a normal washing machine and I don't think there was a need for instructions. Almost at the end of the stay he found some ant, she talked to me about termites and then I got alarmed by immediately calling a technician who deals with this kind of problem, I paid him the extra because he was busy. We immediately rushed to the apartment but they were ants, simple ants, and this does not surprise me if in summer you can find some, defeated with a simple spray. The most serious thing was at check out, when I realized that the dog had pee on all the covers of the double bed, on the sheets, on the covers, on the duvets, on the bedspreads, poop on the floor and even a towel used as a dog’s bed. I explained everything to Virginia and her daughters in the USA by email with photos, but they never answered me again. The laundries do not wash sheets or clothes dirty with urine and faeces, and certainly I do not wash them in the apartment even though I think it is difficult to remove these large spots and whiten everything as before. Unfortunately these things I had to throw away and I bought everything new to ensure as always the maximum cleanliness for my guests when they check in especially the essentials, towels and sheets. Furthermore, when we did the cleaning we noticed that a lamp was broken and Virginia didn't even tell me. I had a great deal of damage as communicated also to homeaway, but Virginia and daughters didn’t care about anything. I hope that such guests will never happen to me again, it was really hell. Thanks to God it is all gone, we are here more and more available for our guests, always more welcoming. Peace and Love.
