Nestled in the heart of Carroll Valley, this charming 3-bedroom cabin offers the perfect escape for your next vacation. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a cozy and inviting atmosphere, complete with a crackling fireplace to keep you warm on chilly evenings. Gather your loved ones in the fully stocked kitchen, where you can whip up delicious meals using the provided appliances and utensils. Enjoy your culinary creations at the spacious dining table.

There is so much to do! Interested in golf? There are several courses within a 10 to 15 minute drive. Hiking? Only 10 minutes to the trailhead for the Appalachian Trail. Not to mention the many state parks and state forests. And who can forget Catoctin National Park located right outside Thurmont, MD only 20 minutes away.

There are two community pools located close by. One in Emmitsburg, MD and the other at Caledonia State Park, about 25 minutes away on Route 30.

When you're not exploring the nearby attractions, such as the Gettysburg National Military Park and the Gettysburg Battlefield Museum, just a short drive away, relax on our front porch or back screen porch with your favorite beverage!

Beautiful cabin on a nice, shady private lot. There are 3 big comfy bedrooms and a nice bonus loft space that my older children loved.If you have kids though there isn't much to do at the cabin. My kids are outdoorsy but the yard was small and the cabin is in a neighborhood. The roads are less traveled so they went for a walk on the roads. There is a nice big playground less than a 10 minute drive away. The cabin was well stocked, clean and the size does justify the cost. I like hot, hot showers though and was a little disappointed by my shower. Overall we enjoyed our stay however and are always grateful to anyone offering a better stay than a hotel!

Thank you. I always recommend that you reach out to me for ideas about activities as there is so much to do and see around the cabin within 20 to 30 minutes. Yes, the cabin is in a quiet neighborhood, and there is a playground 5 minutes away at the foot of Liberty Ski Resort. Near Thurmont there is a nice waterfall hike at the Catoctin National Park, as well as hikes and a pool at the Caledonia State Park. There is always Gettysburg National Park, and we do have a booklet at the cabin developed by the Boy Scouts with a hike that takes you monument by monument through parts of this Park. A fascinating hike. Overall, we are glad that you found the cabin to fit your needs.

Everything was good. Lots of rules for cleaning the dishes and taking out the trash. Very spacious and much nicer than the pictures showed. Driveway is a little steep and gets slick with some snow. Would stay again!

We built our cabin in 2016 on land that had been in our family for over 60 years. Native to the DC area, our family decided to build a property close by that allows us to enjoy all that the area has to offer. Avid kayakers, we have explored the area and discovered many gems on which to paddle! We love to hike, bike and ski when we are staying on Raven Trail. We would love to share our adventures with you so please contact us if you too are kayakers, bikers, skiers or hikers!

Why they chose this property

The land on which we built was originally purchased by my husband's father in the 1960's as a place to go during the Cold War! After being so long in the family, we decided to build a cabin so that we have a place to go to relax and rejuvenate. All the cabin artwork was created by my husband's brother who suddenly passed away in 2013. We wanted to provide a home for his artwork. Our cabin is actually built in his honor and memory. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoy the area.
