Location & amenities great - but cleaniness & maintenance issues let this lovely place down.
Family 3 day getaway. The house and location were great. Plenty of room for all of us and bedrooms were cozy. Unfortunately there were issues around cleanliness & maintenance that let this property down. Under the main lounge was covered in a very thick layer of crumbs & dust (including a mouldy piece of half eated donut). Which was found whilst looking for one of my grandchild's toys. The main lounge itself & it's many scatter cushions were al a bit grubby & need a wash (making it uncomfortable to sit on). Kitchen fridge door seals are all in need of replacement, making it difficult to close the doors properly. There was a cochroach infestation in the downstairs area, crawling over the pool table and beds durtge night. The lights downstairs kept shorting out & there are loose (not working PowerPoint's in the main bedroom). So there are definitely some electrical issues going on! Lastly, there is a very musty smell in the house, but once ALL windows were opened to air it out, it did dissipate a little. I believe these issues should be addressed. Quite disappointed really. Shore-Thing definitely need to lift their game.

Wonderful time
We were 3 families with children ages ranging from 11months,-5 years. Our kids had an amazing time without resorting to technology. The river was at our fingertips - high tide we swam and paddle boarded and low tide we walked across to the beach and swam and played in the rock pools. Walking distance as well to the club and take away. The house had everything we needed..was clean and well stocked The Owners were helpful especially when we had a few requests around our youngest guest. Would recommend with or without kids. Amazing house

I grew up in Berry on the NSW South Coast and had many memorable family holidays at Currarong. We bought a house ourselves in Currarong in 2000 and so my children have also grown up having family holidays in Currarong. I now live in Sydney and our favourite holiday destination is Shore Thing

Why they chose this property

I'd holidayed in Currarong since I was a child and I wanted my children to have the same experience. We bought a small house across the road from this one in 2000 and we had some wonderful holidays there. This house came up for sale and we thought that it would be fantastic to be on the water and have a house with more space.
It needed a major renovation, we were able to keep the original look at the front of the house and extend the back to make the most of the incredible views.

What makes this property unique

As soon as I walked into this house I was captivated by the uninterrupted views out to the lagoon. When we renovated we maintained this vista, so when you open the front door, the view is there
