About this property
Gorgeous Playa Grande House - 4 BR / 3.5 BR - Lush Nature, Amazing Views/Sunsets
Casa Linda is a beautiful home in Playa Grande, on the North Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The villa is a modern, fully furnished 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom home located in the gated community of Las Ventanas. Nestled in the quiet hills overlooking Las Baulas National Park, Casa Linda is surrounded by peaceful lush nature, and offers amazing ocean and sunset views.
The tropical hills around the house host an incredible variety of plants and animals. Colorful iguanas and birds are everywhere, and howler monkeys often make their way into the property's trees in the early morning and at dusk.
Casa Linda is built in a modern and wide open style, designed to take full advantage of the natural environment and gorgeous views. The living room, dining room, kitchen and master suite are located upstairs, while the other bedrooms and bathrooms are on the lower level.
The open gourmet kitchen comes fully stocked, and has granite counters and stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher and microwave. The living room has a large flat screen TV equipped with cable. You can relax in the serenity of the outside covered patio overlooking the infinity pool and lush gardens, in the company of tropical birds and howler monkeys.
While the house is an oasis of privacy and peace, it is an easy 10 minute walk to the restaurants and surf shops of Playa Grande. A little further south, on the other side of the estuary, lies the bustling town of Tamarindo, with an abundance of shopping, dining and partying possibilities.
Playa Grande is a part of Las Baulas National Park, a protected area in Costa Rica where the world’s largest leatherback turtles nest every year. The region is known for world class surfing, and some of the richest fauna and flora on the planet. The beautiful white sand beach stretches for miles, ideal for long sunset walks or early morning runs. Because of the proximity of the national park, Playa Grande is sparsely developed, making it extremely quiet, private and peaceful.
The location of the house is also perfect for tourism and adventure. The coast to the north and south is peppered with many beautiful beaches to visit, including the famous Playa Conchal, and the lovely Playa Flamingo, just a 15 minute drive away. The entire Nicoya Peninsula extends to the south, with its amazing nature, surfing spots, gorgeous white sand beaches and wildlife. In addition, the major volcano and cloud forest sites of Costa Rica are only a couple of hours inland of Playa Grande.
There are hundreds of available activities, including fishing, horseback riding, zip lining, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, diving, snorkeling, sunset sailing trips and more. The nearby population centers provide convenient access to shopping, restaurants, cafés and other services, and it's a quick 45 minute drive to Liberia international airport.

This was a wonderful property. Good location in a private setting with many beaches just a short drive away. This property had many amenities that we utilized. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay. The house is extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped. It’s located in a great neighborhood. There are houses nearby but not too close. We loved the feel of the house and the visits from the local monkeys. The beach and some fantastic local eateries are walking distance (less than a mile). It also serves as a great home base to explore what western Costa Rica has to offer !!
A beautiful villa with a sunset view. House was lovely and very clean. Multiple visits from a troop of squirrel monkeys and wide varieties of birds. Less then 10 minutes from Playa Grande a variety of excellent restaurants and don't miss the produce market 5 minutes away

great house and location
beautiful home in a great secure location. loved the fact that it was central to a multitude of great beaches and towns…pool was awesome with a great view of the sunset
house is big and spacious but could use a little TLC, some minor renovations…property manager wasnt always easy to reach. spoke to homeowner and once these minor issues are resolved, this home could be a five star!
Very nice, close to the beach, pretty bad road the last kilometer
Very nice property, however not a nice neighbor in front. The house was as shown on the pictures and very clean. The manager was super nice. There is no hot water on the downstairs bathrooms.

Beautiful contemporary home close to gorgeous beaches!
We are a family of 6 who spent 5 nights at Casa Linda. This is a sleek, contemporary home up in the hills above playa grande. Beautiful views from the refreshing pool. 10 minute drive to playa grande and 30 min to playa flamingo and tamarindo. My teenage kids loved the pool and boogie boarding at the beaches. The property manager, Audra, was very helpful in setting up scuba and snorkeling trips. Overall I highly recommend this home. FYI, you do need a competent vehicles to negotiate the road up to the house as it is a bit steep, but not treacherous. Thank you and Pura Vida!

Muchas gracias.
Good location, separated from other properties makes it a private place, the house is well equipped and very well maintained. The road to get there has a hill of about 50 meters in a really bad shape, but even automobiles were able to get there with some bumps.
Beware of any trash outside of the house during the night, because racoons will feast with it, leaving you a mess...
My overall impression of the property itself was great! We were 7 adults and 2 kids and there was plenty of room for everybody. The views were beautifyl as were the sunsets. It was clean, air conditioning worked, and all the necessary appliances were available.
We had a few issues early in our stay that were addressed with as much speed as possible by the property management company and others were not, but it did not affect our overall enjoyment of the property.
I think it is safe to say that we would all happily make a return visit to this part of Costa Rica. Playa Grande is an amazing spot for all, especially with kids who like to go to the beach!

Our family trip from jan 14 to the 21st!
We visited Costa Rica for 2 weeks and stayed in Casa Linda for 1 week. The owner of the property Karim is very nice and attentive. When we had questions he replied quickly witch we really appreciated. The house was big enough to fit all of our group (3 kids and 5 adults). The cleanliness of the property is max a 3 stars. I'm not the perfect housekeeper myself but let's say the housework seems to be made fast and superficially. We stored all of the food in the fridge because they we lots of ants in the kitchen area. All of the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the remote location and the privacy of the property. The pool is nice and has a beautiful view. The cleaning team was supposed to come every 2 days for the pool, but the came only once. After 2 days, the pool pump started less working and the water became less clear. The should really come each 2 days because the pump will not last long without the proper maintenance. The paper towels and toilet paper is supposed to be included, but when I wrote to say we were out, no one answered me or came to the house. Pura Vida!

Beautiful getaway
We spent an amazing week at Casa Linda. We loved waking early to hear the birds every morning and enjoyed the spectacular views. The developing neighborhood is gated and felt very safe. The house is modern, quiet, and private but just a quick drive down the hill to amazing beach, restaurants, and surf shops. We loved feeling part of the local culture. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, although could have been a little cleaner. There is easy grocery shopping very close. We enjoyed being able to spread out in the house or enjoy family time in the common area playing cards, listening to music, or sitting outside playing cards. Meditating in the morning became one of my favorite activities at the house! I highly recommend Casa Linda for a relaxing family getaway!

Nice, quiet, well maintained property
The property was very peaceful and well maintained. Great views for watching sunrise and sunset. The pool was nice and relaxing. The cleaning crew could do a better job of dusting and sweeping but overall clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful House Indeed
Casa Linda definitely lives up to its name. The view is beautiful and the location is secluded and peaceful. If you are looking for a quiet place for a vacation that is not to far from the "action" of Tamarindo, Casa Linda is a great choice. It is located in Playa Grande which has the added bonus of some of the best surfing in the area and does not have the crowds of it's much better known neighbor. Playa is centrally located in the region and is a great jumping off point for exploring the beaches from Playa Danta in the north down to Playa Avellanas in the south. All of which are a reasonable driving distance away. Should you need assistance with anything during your stay, Chad and Audra, the property managers from First Choice Realty, are very quick to respond to any inquiries and help in any manner they can. Highly recommended!

Very enjoyable stay in Playa Grande
We spent 3 weeks this summer at Casa Linda, and loved every minute of it. The house is brand new (built in 2015) and very nice looking and comfortable, and the views are amazing! The pool was really nice to have for a refreshing swim in the afternoon/evening...
We enjoyed the quietness of the area, and the fact that we were surrounded by birds and howler monkeys. The kids had lots of fun digging through the entire hillside around the house and looking for insects, lizards, iguanas, and all sort of other animals. Of course we also went to the beach almost every day, and did a lot of tourism as well.
The beach at Playa Grande is very nice, long stretches of white sand with good waves. The kids learnt to surf at the nearby surfing school (Playa Grande Surf Camp or something like that), and then we rented surf boards a few times and they did a lot of "learning by practice".
We went to Tamarindo a lot, for shopping, dining, etc. It's an easy 15-20 minute drive, or you can go across the little estuary if you're going during the day.
We got to visit a number of tourist sites. Costa Rica is not a very big country, and the house is close a lot of nice hiking areas, zip lining rides, etc. We went to Monteverde, Rincon de la Vieja, San Jose, and even Manuel Antonio. We also went on a 3 day tour of the Nicoya Peninsula (the owner recommended it to me), which was a lot of fun (and interesting driving!)
We really liked our stay in Costa Rica, and Casa Linda was the perfect place for us.

About the host
Your host
We are a multi-cultural family of five, and we love to travel. We have visited amazing places on all five continents, but Costa Rica remains our top choice when we're looking to relax and enjoy life.
Why they chose this property
Costa Rica is an amazing country with so much to offer! The people here are kind and welcoming, the fauna and flora are incredibly rich, and there are so many things to see and to do!
The location of Casa Linda makes it perfect for vacations and relaxation all year round. It's a beautiful house on a hill overlooking forests and ocean views - with breathtaking sunsets. The white sand beaches of Playa Grande are only 15 minutes away on foot, and Tamarindo - with all its restaurants and activities - is a 20 minute drive.
What makes this property unique
it's simply the perfect combination for a vacation house..
- It's private and quiet, surrounded by wildlife and beautiful nature. Hours can go by with no other sounds than monkey howls and bird songs. The weather is consistently tropical (25-30 Celsius / 80-90 F), tempered by a refreshing ocean breeze.
- It has gorgeous views of the ocean and the mountains. Every sunset is breathtaking. Every single one.
- It's within a 15 minute walk of several beautiful, peaceful white sand beaches, perfect for surfing or boogie boarding, or just swimming and lying lazily in the sun :)
- It's close to population centers (e.g. Tamarindo) with convenient access to restaurants, shopping, etc.
- Dozens of activities are within an hour or two (or less): volcano parks, cloud forests, waterfalls, hiking trails, zip lining, etc.
