Swampy's Holiday House

Relax, unwind and take in the peace and tranquility of Kow Swamp, a unique inland freshwater lake. Swampy's Holiday house, which was built by Sir Reginald Ansett in the late 1950's, is situated on the waters edge. It affords spectacular views of Mount Hope, and the sunsets and prolific bird life are a painters delight. Whether you are a fisherman, bushwalker or simply a nature lover we are sure you will find the country surrounds idyllic.
Swampys is located 8 Kms from Gunbower which is 50 Kms from Echuca.
Inclusions

Facilities include a log fire, split system air conditioning / heating, fully equipped kitchen, barbeque and 8 seater spa. The main house has two king bedroooms with ensuites. Third bedroom is located at the back of the house and has two single beds with ensuite. All bedrooms have a television. All linen provided. Please note that is is a minimum two night stay. We are pet friendly but pets are not permitted in the house.

Our second stay and we had a lovely quiet time. The house was spotless and the accommodation was comfy. Loved the open fire, especially since the westerly wind was blowing onto the house, making it unpleasant to sit outside this time. Worth noting that Swampy's has very limited internet coverage so leave your work and other commitments at home!

Peaceful getaway

The perfect family getaway. It was so relaxing and we had perfect weather to match. The teenagers had fun feeding the Emus on the property.A visit to the local Gunbower hotel is a must too. Can’t fault our stay.

This was the second stay at swampys for us including my dog . It’s so peaceful, we did not want to leave . We got to hang out infront of the open fire , feed the emus and just chill

Country escape

We enjoyed the quiet, beautiful surroundings of Swampys. The house is comfortably appointed with plenty of room. We especially enjoyed the bird watching over the swamp and around the beautifully maintained garden. Easy access to lots more bird watching in this interesting and varied area.

We loved our romantic anniversary get away

This was by far my favourite place I've stayed. It was so relaxing enjoying the views and the outdoor jacuzzi. They have definitely put a lot of thought into making it very comfortable... The fire place was also devine. We enjoyed taking our two beautiful dogs who loved the property also, seeing them run around so happy was the best feeling. Will be back, and i cannot wait!!!

The fireplace at this house is amazing, which doesn’t have a photo in the listing, it’s a big open fireplace. Everything was great, beautiful location and peaceful the only disappointment was that the spa wasn’t working and we booked this house for the spa. Would definitely go back when the spa is working.

Perfect Serenity

Easter at Swampy’s was superb. We were blessed with perfect weather to enjoy this beautiful, serene place. It was so quiet you could hear the fish splashing in the lake and the swoosh of birds’ wings as they flew overhead. So many birds! The house was clean and well set up - a thoughtfully preserved throw back to the 50s. We all loved it.

Kow Swamp Getaway

We love coming to Swampy's because the house is so close to the water 's edge and Echuca and Cohuna not faraway for day trips. Unfortunately the men were only able to catch carp but better than nothing! The ladies were disappointed that the outdoor spa wasn't working as this was one of the main attractions for us. Hoping that if we go again it will be back working and we can enjoy it again.

Amazing spot

We had a wonderful relaxing 2 nights at Swampys. The spa was awesome, the birdlife was amazing and it was nice to just sit around the fire and watch the sun go down. We will definitely be back.
