You can tell the host is proud of this property as it was well maintained, and very clean just dated. We are a family that does cook when we stay away, so It had ok cooking facilities, the stove was a bit old, but we managed. The location of the property it great, close to local shops and eateries, and close to the beach. It was a great house to stay within our budget.
It worked well for four septuagenarians playing a week of golf. The common areas suited us well. We would suggest that the owners put out some cockroach traps as there were a lot of them there. Also, the vacuum cleaner was not working.
Mel Vedere holiday home was an absolute pleasure to stay in for our 3 nights whilst attending a Surf Boat Carnival. It was very comfortable and homely. Location was perfect as we were able to walk to our beach event, and the multiple places to eat was amazing. Do yourself a favour and stay at Mel Vedere as you won't be disappointed for your $$$$$$.

Hi Greg, we are sorry to hear about the issues you have mentioned. Cleanliness and maintenance are top priorities for us. As noted on the property listing, the BBQ is an open fire bbq which unfortunately is exposed to weather. For this reason we provide bbq plate liners for guests, located in the kitchen drawer. Please know that we have addressed the other issues you highlighted and it's unfortunate that you did not contact us sooner as we could have had them addressed for you on the spot.

Hi Tony, thanks for your review. Sorry to hear that the lawns were not mowed during your stay. We have a gardener who mows the lawns each month, unfortunately around the period you stayed we had back to back bookings and during the week that the gardener was suppose to attend the guest staying in the house asked that the lawns not be done as she had twin babies. With respect to 3rd bedroom with no privacy I assume you are referring to the room with the twin beds. We have always listed the property as a 2/3 bedroom home ( open room off the loungeroom) for this reason but we do regret if this was misunderstood. Kind Regards, Maria
Was a great location, was clean and tidy, fitted our 6 adults well.
Unfortunately someone had stayed before us so bins were very full, but we could leave our rubbish bags near the bin. We needed to bring our own sheets and towels etc as well as clean up before we left, as there is a list of things to do on departure.
Which was fine as we left it in better condition than we walked in. With 6 people for 3 nights 2 toilet rolls did not go far, so we had to buy that aswell.
We need

HOLIDAY HOUSE
We found the house to need a good clean the light in hall wasn't working the toaster wasn't working properly smoke came out of it. The shower was slippery and dangerous. To pay 300 a night and be told all around the house in each room to clean it before leaving is ridiculous. It was a 3-bedroom house with one room locked and 2 single beds in the lounge which made it hard for the kids to go to sleep if the adults wanted stay up and talk. Needs up dating. Beds where ok but the bedroom near back door needs a blind as sun was in the room early each morning. Would I recommend it no.And it needs the flick man as there was cockroaches!

Hi Angela, Sorry to hear that your experience was not what you had hoped for. We truely wish you would have called so we could have made good your concerns. There was a spare toaster in the kitchen cupboard which you may have missed, also spare light globes in the laundry in case a globe ever goes out, not that we would expect you to change a globe, but we could have arranged it for you.
We do apologise if the cleaning was not up to scratch. We have been using the same cleaner for over two years and found her to be very meticulous, so it's a concern to hear this. But now that we have your feedback we will definitely keep an eye on this.
Thank you also for your feedback about the bathroom tiles. Although we have never had any concerns in the past, we will have this looked into, along with your suggestion for a blind in the back bedroom.
It’s a shame that the layout of the house did not suit your needs. We have always been as transparent as possible with the property description & photos . There are photos of the room you mentioned on our listing and the description states ‘Bedroom 3 - Open room off lounge room with 2 single beds’. The last thing we want is a disappoint guests by misleading them, hence why we also highlighted a number of times that guests need to bring their own linen. I can understand your disappointment if these were overlooked.
In your review you mentioned paying $300 a night which is a concern as the records from VRBO /Stayz shows the rate for 6 people as $210pn. If you have been overcharged I would strongly suggest you contact them or if you like let me know I can ask them to look into this for you. I hope this helps.
Once again, I am sorry that the property did not meet your expectations and thank you for your feedback which we will be sure to take on board.
A perfectly functional and clean cottage, handy walk to village with restaurants and supermarket. The property description recommended the 2 single beds were best suited for children, and we can confirm this is so, unless you are short adult. But we were desperate for accommodation for an event, so we took it anyway. No real complaints - except for a shortage of power points in every room except the kitchen, and absence of wi-fi, so if you take a power board and can hot-spot off your phone, you should be fine, because you're on holiday and should be out and about, not on devices, right? Good spaces for storing outdoor equipment in the backyard, and one off road car space behind gates. A bit of passing foot traffic and road traffic noise in front bedroom. But nothing that really disturbed.
Everything about this apartment is of a very high standard & luxury. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as did our friends, in a beautiful part of the world. Eleven out of 10.
This house is lovely. Everything was very clean - I appreciated having soap in the bathroom and kitchen. All the necessities were there. The appliances all worked well. The location was great - 10 minute walk down to the beach
Overall the property is good for the price. Experience would greatly improve if there was air conditioning. Also the locks on the security doors be functional and all amenities be checked that they are fully working. Otherwise in a nice location.
