About this property
Banksia Condominium #2
This apartment offers everything you require for a delightful holiday experience, whether it be a short stay for a weekend of high quality golf/wine tasting/bush walking, or an extended beach and active holiday destination for the whole family. Its location - midway between bustling Rosebud and the charming village of Flinders - makes is ideally suited for one or two couples wishing to enjoy the many attractions of the Mornington Peninsula such as bathing at the Peninsula Hot Springs, shopping in Sorrento and winery visits in Red Hill.
The unit is located right on the RACV Cape Schanck Resort golf course, backing on to the 18th fairway. (Go to "satellite" view and zoom in to see its exact position.)
As this is an RACV resort, very attractive green fee discounts are available for RACV members, so be sure to bring your membership card with you. The RACV Clubhouse is a leisurely 5 minute stroll away if you feel like a coffee and cake and/or a restaurant meal.
Just 3km away, and adjoining the RACV Resort is the National Golf Club, a complex which comprises three world class championship 18 hole courses. Within easy driving distance of your holiday location are the following golf courses: Moonah Links, Rosebud Country Club, Flinders Golf Club, Eagle Ridge, The Dunes and St. Andrews, Gunnamatta. If you tire of these courses, you can travel a little further (15 – 20 minutes) to Sorrento or Portsea.
Features of the Banksia apartment
This is a luxury, split level apartment designed by the renowned architect Daryl Jackson in the early 90’s.
The upper level features a fully appointed kitchen, lounge, separate dining room and balcony, all with bush and ocean views. The lower level has a Queen sized bedroom with ensuite, a second bedroom with two single beds (can be made up as a king sized bed) and a laundry/toilet/bathroom. The apartment sleeps four and suits particularly well a family with two children or two couples.
Each area of the apartment has independent electric heating and ceiling fans while the living areas on the upper level are serviced by a cosy wood heater, ceiling fan and a split system heater/air-conditioner. The kitchen is fully appointed with electric oven, microwave and hotplates and a full range of saucepans, serving platters and other sundry cooking utensils. A Webber barbecue is available for use on the upper deck.
The tariff includes towels and bed linen. Onsite parking for two cars is available.
Attractions of the local area
Although golf is the first thing that comes to mind at Cape Schanck, the Mornington Peninsula offers a wide range of tourist and recreational activities.
The charming township of Flinders, 10 minutes away, boasts restaurants, coffee shops, a hotel, bakery plus antique stores and galleries, Red Hill is a picturesque 15 minute drive away and Rosebud less than 10 minute distance away.
In the surrounding area are several acclaimed wineries, many with fine dining and bistro facilities, along with tasting and cellar door sales. For the more energetic, there is access to horse riding facilities, bay beaches, surfing and an extensive variety of bushwalking tracks. In addition, the towns of Balnarring and Red Hill run country markets on a monthly basis as well as the excellent local Boneo market (5 minutes away). Another popular attraction is the Peninsula Hot Springs located conveniently in Rye but booking in advance is highly recommended.
And for something quite different for the younger family members, Dromana has a "Trebble Screen" Drive-in and a visit could be made to the Ashcombe or Enchanted Mazes.
So remember, Cape Schanck is NOT just about the golf, it offers something for everyone in the family, and Banksia is the perfect base for your Mornington Peninsula holiday. A folder of attractions, restaurants, maps and directions is provided in the apartment.
Please be advised this apartment is not suitable for pets.
