About this property

Home away from home / Luxury in the Heart of Houston 8 mins to Med center/ NRG

We are centrally located with quick access to areas such as downtown, the medical center, and the museum district. Generally, you can expect to spend less than 15 minutes driving to the Houston Zoo, Hermann Park, Galleria, NRG Stadium, Toyota Center, and BBVA Compass Stadium.

This is a Duplex and the owners live on the upper level with a separate door entrance.
Larch house rental is on the ground level with three bedrooms fully furnished and with 2 bathrooms and with its own separate front entrance.

There are cameras on our property they are only exterior security cameras. They are for general property security.
These cameras cannot view any part of the interior of the guest duplex. Cameras are placed at the side of the house, viewing the front door only, and at the back, viewing the guest door only for the guest's added security.

If you should choose to dine out for lunch or dinner, we have an assortment of restaurants, cafes, bars, and pubs close by to fit any occasion We are happy to help with suggestions & directions.

ABOUT

The master suite has its own bathroom with the two other bedrooms sharing a bathroom. Both bathrooms include all the basic essentials. Enjoy extra comfort during your stay with our super soft and eco-friendly bamboo sheets, pillows, and a fluffy comforter included in every bedroom along with TV and cable access to over 200+ channels.

A complimentary breakfast on weekends can be provided courtesy of the hosts.
The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking desires.

For families traveling with small children, we can provide a portable crib and high chair if needed. Please let us know when booking.

ACCESS

Guests will have full access to the entire downstairs which is completely secluded from upstairs with separate entrances and the ability to park for free along the street outside the house.

We're centrally located in the exclusive neighborhood, Bellaire. There is easy and fast access to 610, Hwy 59, and all major freeways, areas, and attractions in Houston. Bellaire is very quiet, low-traffic, and family-friendly. Enjoy the walking/biking path with tree-lined streets, beautiful homes, and access to parks /pools and The Nature Center. Although we live in the 3rd largest city in America, Bellaire is a small city inside the central loop of Houston with its own police, fire, and municipal services that pride themselves on their quality of service and prompt response time.

GETTING AROUND

If you are planning to drive, you can expect to spend less than 15 minutes reaching most major attractions and other areas of Houston. At peak traffic times please ask us for the less traveled and fastest route to your destination. If you will be needing to take public transportation, there is a bus stop conveniently located less than a block away. Guests also frequently use Uber.

We were welcomed with unexpected cheese and fruit. Also pastries and fruit the next morning. 4 year old granddaughter enjoyed playing with the games that were available. The microwave died unexpectedly, and they provided a new one within 10 minutes, which was unbelievable.

The house is well-laid out for family gathering around the dining room table or in the living room, kitchen is well-stocked and host's food and drink offerings were much appreciated, beds are great, and host responded immediately and was very accommodating.

Great location, clean, and comfortable

We had a great stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. It is close to lots of parks (Evelyn’s Park is a half mile away and totally amazing!), restaurants, and grocery stores. It was an easy commute to the Zoo, Hermann Park, and the medical center. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

Larch House weekend

We had an excellent and relaxing stay at Larch House. Patsy and Felix were great hosts who promptly responded to any issue. The welcome fruit tart and weekend breakfasts were much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our second stay at Larch House and won’t be our last. The house itself is in the perfect location. It is welcoming and the Rhymes are just lovely hosts. Breakfast every morning was a welcomed treat!! You will not be disappointed if you book a stay here!

Medical visits and beach trip

We stay at this home twice each year to facilitate my visiting specialist physicians in the Medical Center area. The hosts live above the rental and are quite personable and responsive. The location is great, the beds wonderful, and the entire experience is worth every penny. Highly recommend.

Wonderful house and hosts

Our family stayed here for Thanksgiving. We were happy to have found such a beautiful, warm, and comfortable place to be together. We so appreciated the wonderful fruit tart, breakfast, and other thoughtful items. By far the best stocked home I have stayed in with plenty of dishes to prepare and serve a Thanksgiving meal. The tea lovers in our group were excited to find a large selection of high quality teas. Thank you, Patsy and Felix, for being such gracious hosts.

A-PLUS EXPERIENCE

Patsy and Felix bring their home away from home to a whole new level. These two generous, kind and thoughtful hosts offer an absolutely lovely home conveniently located in the heart of Bellaire. A beautiful courtyard offers a great retreat. The Kitchen larder is well-stocked and Patsy is a caterer par excellance. These two hosts go over and above when it comes to ensuring a terrific stay. This 3-bedroom has a beautiful layout for privacy with large bedrooms and a generous living area with room for entertaining. We heartily recommend Larch Lane for a short or long stay.

I’m almost nervous to write a review as we loved this hidden treasure so much, and we don’t want the word to get out about how great it was. We arrived late and were greeted by our lovely host Patsy. There was wine and a freshly baked peach cobbler waiting for us. The 3 bedroom 2 bathroom layout was perfect for our family of 4. The house was spotless and the kitchen was stocked with essentials. We weren’t expecting a continental breakfast in the morning, but there it was! We’ve been to many VRBOs and we travel to Houston often. This is one that we will be coming back to. Thank you Patsy and Felix for a wonderful experience.

Wonderful private B&B in the heart of Houston

The Larch House was a wonderful place to get away and was conveniently located in the Bellaire area of Houston. This area is 5 minutes from the Galleria and the Museum District which is what we came to visit on our trip. The house was beautifully furnished, well maintained and inviting. Patsy went so far as to decorate for the Easter holiday, as well! Nice touch! The beds were incredibly comfortable (what wonderful sheets!) and spacious. The living room and kitchen area were perfect for our family of five to hang out, play games, and enjoy the incredible breakfasts provided fresh each morning. The owners were extremely polite, friendly and made it clear that they were there to help us if we needed anything. In fact, they asked one of my daughters how I liked my tea so that they could make sure to have it ready to my liking when I came out in the morning. They were wonderful! I couldn't recommend this place enough to others!

Lovely home but not for late sleepers

The home is lovely, clean, and well stocked in a neighborhood convenient to NRG and the medical center. It was very convenient for our visit to the rodeo. A Lyft to NRG was only $13. Spacious and clean bedrooms. Nicely stocked kitchen with a few food items left for us, which was great. We had a problem with noise, however. The owners have several active dogs (and maybe a small child?) and live above the unit. We were all awakened each day starting about 6:00 am with noisy footsteps above as the floors were very creaky on the second floor. Running footsteps, dog scrabbles, rhythmic thumping above (thought it was a hammer then guessed wagging tail on a hardwood floor), bouncing ball, lots of walking back and forth. We were getting in or sitting up late talking each night and hoped to sleep well past 6 or 7 am to start our vacation days. We spent 3 weekday nights there and it happened every morning. This put a real damper on our stay. Otherwise, would have been a great experience.

Great location. Nice House but Owners actually live upstairs.

Let me begin by saying Patsy and Felix were two of the nicest, VRBO owners that I’ve met. Upon arrival, I called and she came downstairs, greeted the 4 of us and showed us around. A cheese/fruit tray was laid out for our arrival. The fridge was stocked with 4 individual yogurts, cream cheese, container of orange juice, two half gallons of milk and grapefruit juice. We didn’t have to find the store until the next day as we had fruits and juices. For breakfast the next morning we had a tray of fruit accompanied by pigs in a blanket. The second morning, we had bagels with cream cheese and a tray of fruit accompanied by an entire peach cobbler. The remaining 4 mornings, breakfast was on us. The location is great as the house is located less than a 10 minute drive from the Galleria. HEB and Walgreens are less than 5 minutes away. My convention was located at the George Brown Convention Center which was a 20 minute drive without traffic and a 40 minute drive with traffic. Eateries are in abundant supply near Larch House. One street behind the house is a restaurant called Luigi’s. One night I ordered pizza and wings while the next night we ordered a variety of their pasta dishes with salads. While you spend a little more for their food, they deliver and the taste is amazing. We also ate at Boudroeux’s Cajun Restaurant which was 5 minutes from Larch House. Another night we ate at Goode Seafood which was less than 10 minutes away. Parking at Larch House is on the street parking. During the day I had no problem parking in front of the house. However, two nights that I came in after 8:00 pm, there was a truck parked there so I had to find another spot. We stayed for 6 nights so we had to wash towels as there were no extras in the linen closet. Washing wasn’t a problem as the house comes equipped with a washer/dryer and tide pods. However, I would’ve rather not had to wash towels as we were only provided one face towel, one drying off towel and one hand towel. In the future, I think extra towels should be in the towel/linen closet as that’s a necessary staple, or in the alternative let the renter know to bring extra towels. If you rent Larch House, please understand that Felix and Patsy live directly above you upstairs. Thus, there is an 11:00 pm quiet time rule. The owners were my alarm clock every morning because by 6:30 am, you will hear walking, movement and the pitter patter of 3 puppies feet. Don’t be surprised if you hear some barking as well.

Patsy is a wonderful and considerate host. She created a warm and welcoming environment. Upon arrival, we found soft music playing, a bottle of wine, a beautifully arranged tray with a variety of cheese, crackers, bread, nuts and grapes. Beds were comfortable and the linens were soft. The kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed our stay very much!!

Perfect weekend!

My husband and I stayed at Larch House last weekend for a wedding and it was absolutely perfect! We really appreciated the cracker, cheese and fruit tray upon our arrival, and the well-stocked fridge with essentials like yogurt, milk, OJ, butter, chocolates. The next morning the owner delivered delicious pastries and fresh strawberries. Very quiet and safe location, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, good internet. We look forward to staying here again the next time we're in Houston!

Houston Medical Center and Galleria Area Stay

We have to visit the Medical Center and Galleria area at least twice a year. You cannot get better and more convenient accommodation than this location. Highly recommend. The owners live above and are always very helpful.

Perfect for our stay

I traveled with my family of 4, including 2 teens. The 3 bedroom layout was perfect for us. The master bed was at the front of the house, while the other two bedrooms were in the back. My teenagers appreciated this. Patsy was beyond welcoming and fabulous with communication. We were welcomed with flowers and fresh baked goodies awaiting our arrival, which was so incredibly appreciated. Even more incredible was the breakfast tray so graciously delivered the next morning. We've stayed in 20+ VRBOs and never have we found them as well stocked as this one. The owners really go above and beyond.

Great location to stay in Houston

This is a spacious, three bedroom home with all the amenities right in the heart of Houston. The owners live above the property and incredibly responsive and helpful. This is the only place we consider staying when needing to come to Houston, particularly for visits to the Texas Medical Center.

This has created an awareness and appreciation for many cultures. I own an Event Management company here in Houston and I am a certified NVQ service trainer.
(National Vocational Qualifications is the food service training standard of England) I have trained service staff for hotels, country clubs, and restaurants in the art of good service.

We love older homes and chose Larch House for its charm, location, and inviting floorplan. We remodeled and furnished the entire home. From the luxurious bamboo bed linens to the features of the gourmet kitchen, everything is designed to help you enjoy your stay.

What makes this property unique

We love entertaining guests. Patsy was raised in England. She grew up in the hotel and restaurant industry. It instilled in her the instinct to treat our guests as if they were staying in the finest hotel. The owners, Patsy and Felix, live on the property in the upstairs Duplex which is a completely separate from the downstairs unit is separated by an outside Door / Staircase & walls dividing the two properties ..
