Fantastic 3 bedroom house right next to Tawas State Park. Perfect for a long weekend with family. Sand bar at Tawas State Park is perfect for a 2.5 year old.
House was very clean and well stocked. Beds were comfortable and couch was newer. Location is fantasic, right by State Park, beautiful beach! Lovely deck on the back of house, will definitely rent again!
Great place! The house was clean, grill was clean, you could walk to the beach, state park! We rented kayaks from the place at Jerry’s marina and town wasn’t that far away! Also had a gas fire pit that was nice!
Cottage is comfortable. Only real lake access is at the adjacent State Park beaches, or the city beaches. We chose to drive to the city beach...very clean and well maintained.
As mentioned by others, there is a strange smell in the cottage, so doors and windows open as much as possible.
Great location loved the 1960's grandma's house vibe. Everything was very clean and organized. Easy check in/out with chocolates waiting on the kitchen table. The kitchen was well equipped and enjoyed stargazing and watching the wildlife from the back deck. Being from Florida, didn't know that squirrels in the Midwest are black, chipmunks were adorable, and deer were in the back yard. We have friends that work at the marina across the street, so the location was perfect. Would definitely stay here again!

Older home must drive 2 beaches and tow
Does not come up on map quest , owner randomly showed up 2 of the 4 days and the beach is a drive not within walking distance. That being said older home with all amenities basic and 7 minutes from downtown tawas

Good space
The house had plenty of room. However, there was a distinct smell (thought to be cat) that was noticed by several people. Also there was no water access as indicated in the listing.

Sherry, We're glad that you enjoyed the house overall. We have relayed your feedback to the homeowner, and they would like to clarify that their property is pet-free, so they are unsure as to what your group smelled. We wish you would have reached out to the guest contact out during residence, as once given a chance, the local agents are there to ensure our tenants’ stay is enjoyable and issue free. We are confident this was an isolated incident, as evidenced by reviews both before and after your stay. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, and we are confident that this owner will continue to provide five-star experiences!

We had fun! Tawas has lots of fun stores and restaurants! The house is old and orderly but not clean. The furniture is old and needs cleaning or replacing along with the carpeting. Saving grace was that the mattresses were new! There is beach access or "water" access but no beach. It would have been nice to have access to beach chairs in this rental for the state park. There was definitely a "smell" to the house. Dishwasher did not work. Old and real clean would be ok...but not as is. We wouldn't stay again.

Hi Laura, thanks for letting us know about your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they would like to share the following: "We want to express our gratitude for bringing the issue with the dishwasher to our attention. We have taken swift action to address this concern by replacing it with a brand new unit, which seems to have been the source of the mentioned "smell."" However, we also want to emphasize that your observations about cleanliness are significant to us. It appears that your feedback varies from the reviews provided by other guests, as our property consistently receives high ratings for "cleanliness." We value your feedback and remain dedicated to upholding the high standards we are known for."
This house was clean and in a great location. Check-in was easy.
The home has a ramp upfront and out on the back deck which was not needed for us, but is great for those that have mobility issues.
The home is located right outside of the Tawas State Park. Which makes it walking distance to a decent beach and to the lighthouse. It's a short drive to town for your groceries or anything downtown you might want to do.
We used the kitchen each night and day we were there so the modern dishwasher was nice. It was really quiet when running. The only issues we had in the kitchen was the stove. I'm not use to electric so it took some tries getting use to it as it's is a glass top digital touch stove. The over was fine.
The water pressure in the bathrooms for showering is really good. There is only outlets in 1 of the 2 bathrooms, so watch for that if you are drying or curling your hair.
The deck out back was really nice and relaxing for morning coffee and dinner bbqs. It's much larger than the pictures show it to be. There was also a gas fire pit on the deck that isn't pictured or listed, and a nice addition if you want to have smores or just enjoy a fire without smoke.
It felt like I was going to grandmas house. It was clean, and has a 60-70's vibe throughout the home. I would upgrade the older living room furniture if it were my rental because it sits very low to the ground and was difficult to get up from once you were sat down. I would stay here again.
We didn't spend much time at the house, but it was perfect for what we needed. Close to the point for a morning run. It had everything we needed but a hair dryer. I contacted the owner and had a hair dryer within the hour! It is an older house, but no complaints.

Memorial weekend reunion
This was a great option for our up north family reunion. House was very clean and one of the few rentals in the area with two bathrooms. Comfortable beds and huge deck in back. Would definitely rent again.
We rented this cottage for a girls getaway. Clean, plenty of room,. Close to beaches and shopping.
Private beach about 6 houses away or beach in the state park about a mile away. Will definitely go back. Thank you for the hospitality!
The house has 3 ample bedrooms, a dinning room, living room and kitchen with washer and dryer. The property sits at the entrance to the Michigan State Park providing walking access to the beach, playground and trails.
The house has a propane grill and tools ready to use and the interior is well appointed for any stay. Very pleased with the manager and overall a great place to visit and soak up some much needed relaxation.
About as close to Tawas Point State Park as you can get, within walking distance to the campground and beaches. We stayed for Independence Day and watched fireworks mosquito-free through the picture window.
