My Stay at the Shanty

Absolutely in love with this place!! Will be coming back at least once a year. Owner was so easy to get in touch with. Very secluded and peaceful. Great place to get away

Shanty 10/10

We loved the property. Secluded and absolutely everything we needed to relax for a couple of days. We will definitely go back.

Cute little place

We booked this place because of the location right on the river. We had 5 adults and our fur babies. It was a cute little cabin! It took us a little bit to figure out how to get the oven to work, but otherwise we had an awesome time.

Shanty on the Beach

We loved the shanty on the beach! It was peaceful, secluded and quiet. The rope swing was a favorite of our teenage boys. We rented kayaks from the property owners and that was great. We were picked up at the shanty and able to get off the river there too. We will definitely be back!

Stunning!

I LOVE rivers and this property is stunning! I loved every second of it and enjoyed playing in the river, watching it, listening to it.. everything! The cabin is very cute and hostesses are very accommodating!! Highly recommend.

Best little stretch of river front

This little cabin is on the best little beach. You can't beat the location. The rope swing was awesome. Our boys were swinging constantly. I would recommend bringing some blister tape, to wrap their hands and prevent blisters. My only real complaints would be that the cabin was in real need of a deep clean and the neighborhood dogs were a little concerning, but overall you can't beat the river. . .

Beautiful but…

The cabin was beautiful, the river was awesome and the view is amazing, however, the AC is 2 small window units that did NOT cool the cabin at all, the refrigerator does not work well, everything inside got hot, and the front door does not shut probably or lock. The neighbor hood dog kept pushing the door open and walking in. We ended up leaving at 1 am because it was too hot to sleep.

So sorry you had a bad experience. We took all your concerns to heart and added a window unit, tinted the large windows in the front facing the river, and fixed the front door. Keep in mind this is a vacation rental and without feedback we are unable to fix these issues.. You were our first guest that has had these issues.. The refrigerator was checked and was working fine.. thank you for your response and as my manager advised you, when you return you will get a 50% discount ..

We loved everything about the shanty! It was definitely a great place to hangout with the family and the best part was we were able to float right to where we stayed! The kids had a blast on the rope swing, swimming, and we caught lots of fish!! The location was perfect! As other commenters have stated the grill is a little iffy, and the cabin definitely could use some blackout curtains or blinds to help combat the really hot days as the Ac's definitely couldn't keep up! We used lots of fans and put blankets in windows to make it a little better! Other than that the stay was literally amazing! One of our best family vacations to date! We plan to be back!!!

Great shanty

Great little place to get away from the world!!! It’s not the ritz Carlton by any means but it is exactly what we wanted. The peace and quiet was incredible. Only suggestion I have is a little more lighting on the inside and out but that was easy to manage.

Peaceful Little Spot

Overall my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The location along the water was so peaceful and we loved that there were so many outdoor places to hangout. We also booked a kayaking trip through the owners. It was perfect! They picked us up from the cabin, drove us to the drop off point, and we paddled 6 miles back to it. The biggest downside to our stay was that the grill was not functioning. The bottom had rusted out and so it would not get hot enough to grill which threw off our meal plans. Only other issues were very limited pantry items, no ziplocks, tin foil, etc. and the outdoor furniture could do with some cleaning.

Great river view!

The shanti was a quaint cozy cabin! The sounds of the flowing river was very soothing! If your looking to get a way from it all this is the place. The owners were awesome and went above and beyond to help us out.
