Two families comfortably split the house for a baseball tournament. Can easily accommodate 3.Host had everything we needed to make the stay comfortable. Will be back in two years!
We stayed here with 4 adults and two children while my son played in a tournament at Allstar Village. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable. Making meals were somewhat challenging because the lack of utensils and the grill was a mess. Other than that everything was perfect.
We had the most amazing week at this house! Everything was gorgeous and clean and relaxing. It was so nice to be close to all star village, but not too close. We loved the peaceful setting of the lake and woods and would 100% recommend this home for families coming to town for baseball. We loved having the canoe to explore and the deck provided so many beautiful mornings to relax with a cup of coffee. The only thing I would suggest is that the home be stocked with essentials like spices, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, shampoo/conditioner etc. We loved our trip and have memories that will last a lifetime.
This was a perfect spot for parents of players at the local baseball tourneys. Plenty of space and only about 15 minutes from the facilities. Really beautiful home.
The house was amazing and had everything we needed. It was close and direct to All Star village. The owner was very responsive. I have already recommended the house to a few more people going to Cooperstown for baseball next summer
We had a great time at this house. Had everything we needed. Location perfect for Cooperstown dreams park and a nice get away from park when needed. Couches were super cozy. Kitchen great although we didn’t use a whole lot! Thanks again!!
We had an excellent stay! Everything felt so clean and updated, and the kitchen had all supplies to make home cooked meals. We didn’t get to spend as much time in the house as we would have liked thanks to the CASV schedule. But it always felt like a retreat going back each night but still close enough to the Village. Don’t hesitate to book!
We had a great time here! Our son was playing at Cooperstown and we didn’t want to stay right there. The pictures and descriptions are very accurate. It was nice to come back from long stretches at the fields to relax before going back. It has a lot of food, gas, coffee, bjs, Walmart like 20 mins away. The park is 15 mins away. I have a 7 and 9 year old. My 7 year old has some health challenges, the hike up from the water was a lot. It definitely isn’t a light walk up. We enjoyed the canoe! The boys were hoping to go swimming but it was very slippery looking on the rocks at the shore and there wasn’t a way to get up onto the dock. So if you are planning on swimming make sure you bring water shoes. We aren’t a family that closes our doors to sleep, but if you do bring a fan, the ductless split for air conditioning is in the downstairs hall and if you close the doors it will get a little stuffy. We didn’t have a problem(we enjoyed the AC), but just helping others to plan. We would absolutely rent again if we were to come back!!
The house itself was great in many ways. It was fully stocked with everything we needed which was great! And was also very clean! We were not there much to fully utilize the Viking range in the kitchen or grill out on the deck. My husband and son were able to get a little fishing in off the dock to help pass a little time away before heading to the ball fields.
A few cons of the home was that 3 rooms were in the basement. It was cold and damp. There were no dressers and only a few hangers. Some area rugs would be nice on the cold hard floors as well. We felt like we had to wear our shoes the entire time.
The major issue we had with the home was the grossly awful smell of the water. It was hard to brush our teeth and had to use bottle water to do so. The scent of rotten eggs just permeated the bathrooms during a shower as well.
For $500 per night we would suggest a water softener or treat the water/well to avoid such a distasteful odor.
Would we stay again? Probably not. Again, although the home was lovely with amenities, we weren’t aware that majority of the rooms were in a basement and the order of the water was unbearable.

We are very shocked and disappointed to get a review that is less than five stars which has never happened before. We work extremely hard to make sure that our guest are happy when they stay in our home.
What is most shocking is that prior to their stay we reached out to the guest and said “Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can do anything to make your stay better.” Twice during the stay we reached out and said "Please let us know if we can do anything to make your stay more enjoyable.”
The guests were provided with both my cell and my wife's cell phone number to contact us 24 hours a day if there was anything they needed. But unfortunately, we were not made aware of any issues.
Simply put, we can only fix issues that we know about.
To address their complaints;
1)The house has state of the art radiant heat in all of the floors. All the guest had to do was turn on the heat using the thermostat on the wall. The floors would’ve been toasty warm within 30 minutes.
2)The house has a water filtration system, and if we had only known about the smell, we could have with the push the button regenerated the water system, and it would’ve cleared the smell up instantaneously. We have never had this happen before, but could have been easily fixed with a push of a button.
3)The house is three stories. The first floor has double doors that walk out at ground level as well as 4’ x 6’ windows with panoramic views of the lake. These are not damp basement bedrooms.
It’s just unfortunate that this party would leave a negative review after the fact but did not give us the opportunity to improve their saty. Once again, we will always strive to make every guess stay in our house a great experience.
Wonderful lake front cabin close to All Star Village. Our family really enjoyed our stay. The home is open, bright and has a very cool rustic feel. Kitchen was awesome and open to the main living area. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, especially the upstairs loft bedroom! Would definitely recommend this home. The only suggestion I would have for the owners is to trim the trees to allow for a more amazing view of the lake through the huge windows and from the deck
The property is updated and clean!! Just about 20 min from ASV (which is typical for any house rental) and a gem. Honestly, many other properties are old but this is a rare find. Property manager Issy was outstanding with communication and her responses to our needs. At one point during our stay, we realized we didn’t have a spatula for flipping eggs, so Issy left two on our front porch the same day. We have done many rentals in our past and realize this is rare! Loved the house - just wish we had more free time to fully enjoy it! Thank you for all you did!!
We just stayed at the house while our son played in the All Star Village tournament. House was recently built and well equipped. Great place to stay for a relaxing family trip and the drive to All Star Village is very easy.
The owner, Issy, responded to any questions I had very quickly and was pleasant to deal with.
Only recommendation if staying at the house would be to bring your own bath towels with you. Towels provided at the house are very small and thin. Perhaps an easy upgrade for the owners moving forward.
If you're reading this review, hurry up and book this property now! You won't be disappointed. The only thing not perfectly captured in the owners' description is just how unique this house is and how stunning the grounds are. The drive up Bob Wilson Road alone is picturesque and then upon arrival, you'll love the view and walk down to the serene lake. Morning coffee and evening cocktails on the large deck overlooking the lake were amazing. The house is warm, inviting, modern and comfortable. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and the kitchen/dining area/great room are perfect for family game nights and gathering for meals. The owner was wonderful to work with and if you're coming for baseball, it's an easy 18-20 minute drive over to CASV. Truly, we cannot say enough good things about Timber Lodge.
Great house for a family that is on a baseball adventure! In the secluded woods area but not far from anything! Clean, new design and perfect for the family!!!
The house was great! Tucked away in the woods and steps from a lake, was nice to be away from the hustle of Cooperstown. Easy drive to the Dreams Park. We had a great time!
This property was fantastic for our stay during our All Star Village baseball tournament week. Check-in/Check-out was super easy. The home was beautifully appointed and fit two families (4 adults + 3 kids) perfectly. The house is about 15 minutes from ASV so convenient from that perspective. The location is just as advertised, right on Goodyear Lake with a small dock and canoe for visitor use. We loved the place and hope to book again when we visit ASV with our younger son in 2024! Thanks to the Issy and Jamie for their hospitality.
My wife and two kids enjoyed our stay here with my sister and her husband. The owner checked in with us during our stay and made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. From coffee on the dock to fishing and swimming with our girls, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this one of a kind home.

This house was built by the owners- a career builder/designer and a local teacher. This house is the result of years of experience building custom homes; specializing in historic timber frames.
Why they chose this property
-One of the reasons we chose to build on this site is because it is very close to the water - and we've also dreamed of owning a waterfront property. -Goodyear Lake appealed to us because it's picturesque 344 acre lake, not extremely active (there is no public launch) and is very quiet and relaxing. -We choose the Cooperstown area-not only because of its location to the baseball hall of fame, but also because of the many other features, it has to offer. Within a short distance, there are several shops, restaurants, parks, and hiking/outdoor recreation facilities.
What makes this property unique
-431 feet of picturesque waterfront includes a generous area for outdoor seating and grill Swimming and fishing available from the dock -Canoe available for use -Newly built- the fall of 2019 -The home is built from a hand-hewed timber-framed barn. Original barn built in the 1790’s by English settlers in the Catskill Mountains (Gilboa, NY) -Features exposed timbers in all rooms All furniture is custom crafted (beds, end-tables, kitchen cabinets, butcher-block island, vanities, light fixtures etc.)
