About this property
Come Experience Trout Lake! Perfection for Family Connection!
Enjoy a peaceful waterfront vacation in this classic Adirondack styled 3 bedroom cottage nestled in the pines in scenic Sayre Bay on pristine Trout Lake in Hermon, NY. Sayre Bay is located at the private, northern end of the lake, so while boaters and paddlers may pass by, they will need to turn around a short distance beyond the cottage. Sit at the water's edge and watch the loons and listen to their majestic calls. Enjoy sitting around the campfire at night, reconnecting with friends and family while roasting marshmallows.
Comfort is the feeling you will experience with the beautiful tongue and groove knotty pine in each of the rooms that are appointed nicely with cozy furnishings. The cooks will love the spacious kitchen complete with sitting area and breakfast bar. You have great views of the water or surrounding woods from every window. There is a fully appointed kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer with ice trays, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, popcorn popper, blender, pots, pans, dishes, complete utensils including vegetable peelers, wine opener, zester, garlic press, whisk, graters, measuring cups, can opener, etc.
All three bedrooms are on the second level. Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 each have Queen beds, while Bedroom 3 has two Twin beds. The bed linens (sheets, pillowcases, blankets) are provided at no charge.
The waterfront has a deck, dock, boat house, and raft, and comes with a runaround 6' motorboat with an 8 hp motor, one canoe and two kayaks. Trout Lake has 13 islands and is outstanding for paddling in the kayaks and canoe or using the runaround motorboat to fish and explore! Guests who want to bring a boat may make arrangements through us with the private boat launch on Trout Lake.
The swimming and fishing are excellent in the crystal-clear water! There is nothing better than swimming in a clean Adirondack-Region Lake and you can jump right in from the dock! Mike Catanzaro offers fishing charters for kids and their parents, so if anyone is interested, they can contact Mike at his camp land line (315-347-3035) or text/voice his cell (716) 857.0111. Fishing is excellent for all ages and the kids often out fish the adults, catching Largemouth Bass, Perch, Bullhead, Rock Bass and Sunfish. Rainbow and Lake Trout are stocked annually, plus there is an abundance of native Smallmouth Bass.
When it is time to come in, you can play cards or board games, read a good book, surf the Web, or watch Dish TV. There are countless places to visit nearby which are perfect for hiking, biking, rafting, antiquing, sightseeing, etc. Day trip options include: The Wild Center in Tupper Lake (1hr.), Lake Placid and the High Peaks Adirondack Region for shopping, dining and hiking (90 mins.), the 1000 Island Region of the St. Lawrence River (1hr.), the Canadian National Capital, Ottawa (1hr. 45min.), 4 golf courses within a 30 min. drive, and the Mohawk Casino & Resort (1hr. 15 min.)
Need a break from preparing dinner? The nearby restaurants are the Last Lap (16 min.), Pour Ole Satch's Co. (20 min.), and American House (16 min.).
This Trout Lake property has something to offer everyone whether you are looking for a slower pace of life or to experience new adventures. There are no schedules to adhere to at the cottage and you can unplug if you choose! Spend time exploring the natural beauty of Trout Lake and the surrounding area! It's truly a place to refresh and rejuvenate! Come to beautiful Trout Lake and create memories that will last a lifetime!
