About this property

Rustic 4-bedroom cabin, on lake with WiFi, near Adirondacks A Place to Remember!

The main structure of this unique cabin was once a 100 year old barn. The recently lumber was brought to this 3 1/2 acre, pristine piece of land and converted into a rustic cabin on the edge of a 10 acre lake. The 8 inch hand-hewn beams support an upstairs loft on each side of the great room below. (4 bedrooms) The original plank cherry floor supports it all.
Sliding glass doors and banks of windows invite you into the outdoors. The absence of close neighbors brings a sense of wonder, joy, and peace. It's yours alone.
Setting on the screened in front porch in the morning reveals a multitude of sparkling diamonds as the sun shines on the surface of the lake. The afternoon sun sends shafts of light through the green of the trees and shows off the beauty of the woods.
A private driveway of .4 miles takes you down a one lane road that a visitor once described as "driving into a Currier and Ives painting." When you see the wooden rail fence on the left, the woods open up to reveal the cabin.
When I first saw this place, 20+ years ago, I fell in love with the peace and beauty of both water and woods. I had a sense, right from the beginning that this place was for me, but not just for me. I was to share it with others. So there you have it, that's how your invitation came about. So come and experience "The Promised Land."
I am not a professional hostess, but I have hosted many people here before. In the past I facilitated many retreats on this property. I love sharing this special place and look forward to welcoming you.

Perfect for a summer trip!

This lakeside cabin was the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. Plenty of space for 7 people to stay and you can also fish by the lake as well. Be sure to bring plenty of bug spray!

It was a pleasure to have Victor and his guests at The Promised Land. They were great tenants and respectful of the cabin and surroundings. Sorry the visit coincided with this year’s two week deer fly season. You can always count on mosquitoes at night in the woods, thus the large screened in front porch.

What a lovely place to be! The pond through the window and easily accessible down the mossy path for swimming and floating. The kitchen was easy to cook in and we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at the window. For a real getaway, remote, quiet and relaxing, highly recommended.

Overall, a nice stay. The property grounds are fantastic—lots of space for outside activities, and on the water with access to a few kayaks. Perfect for a summer sunny day! Inside, there are a few quirks to consider before booking. The cabin itself is filled with knicknacks, almost to the point or clutter. Travelers with young children may hesitate (we likely would have, if we had known). We also found some personal belongings (likely from other guests) in the bedrooms/bathrooms, suggesting the cabin hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned prior to our stay. Otherwise, guests have access to just about anything they’d need, which made for a pleasant and worry-free getaway.

Dear Jaime, Please know that the house is thoroughly cleaned every time someone leaves. Some things have been left in the bathroom in case you have left home without yours. I will remove them all. I appreciate your comments about the Knick knacks. It has been a long time since my children were little. I hadn’t thought that their presence might be difficult for small children. I thought they added to the cabins charm. I will put them away. I am glad that, overall you enjoyed your stay and that you appreciated the beauty of the property grounds. It is a beautiful and peaceful setting.

The place was so serene and beautiful that it felt bad leaving the place. Spent 2 nights staying at Jane's place and felt so much calmer spending time there. Listening to the sound of leaves falling and the pond nearby helped calm the nerves and enjoy the view while sipping coffee in the morning. Highly recommend!

Gary and his mother were very pleasant and appreciative of anything done for them. They were respectful of the house and left it as they had found it. I would be very pleased to have them come again.

Absolutely wonderful! The cabin is spacious yet cozy, clean and welcoming. We absolutely loved the screened porch and spent every evening chatting and playing games out there. We went kayaking on the lake, grilled out, played outdoor games, sat by the fire with complete privacy. This property is nestled in by the trees and the lake. Jane was an absolute fantastic host. From booking in February right through our trip, she was friendly, accommodating and answered any questions I had immediately. We will definitely be returning. If you are looking for a serene, peaceful, private getaway Jane’s property is ideal. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Jane and her cabin.

I would be thrilled to rent to Janice and her friends another time. It was fun to think about them coming. They had just wanted a quiet place to gather the three couples and enjoy each other‘s company. I knew they were going to love this place from the very beginning. Hopefully they come back.

As a child I grew up on an island in the St. Lawrence River. I always thought I would have to own a piece of island property someday. Then I found this spot. The property is without equal. I have shared it with so many people through the years. Now is your turn. You will be happy here.

Why they chose this property

In this very private and tranquil spot, the deer are your closest neighbors. They won’t bother you, but if you’re quiet, you might actually get to see them in the early morning or just before dark. Perhaps you’ll get to hear or see an owl high up in the tree. There are raccoons and fox in the neighborhood, but they will likely not show themselves to you, unless… You are one of the lucky ones.

What makes this property unique

This property is so unique because it has both features of water and words. There is a small lake to enjoy with a kayak, or two fish, and beautiful woods to enjoy the mysteries of nature and the beautiful sites and sounds in this secluded place.
