We enjoyed the cabin and some fishing over our stay. The cabin had everything to make our group feel at home and loved the screen porch sail’s design to keep wind and rain out while sleeping to the birds singing in the forest.
Enjoyed a couples retreat, great location for hiking, fishing and time to reflect on how peaceful and enjoyable the BWCA is and the history of this place amazed us all, will be back already planning next trip. Incredible trip.
Great cabin and great location for families. The kids love the kayaks and sleeping in the bunks on the wrap-around porch. Close to Chik Wauk Nature Center that has kids and family programs as well as as nature walks and a museum. Cabin very close to shore with easy access to dock, boats, and kayaks especially nice for older family members. About as close to the BWCA boundary as you can stay making it very easy for day trips down the lake.
My family had a great time, kids loved the bunk bed and wrap around screen porch, plenty of room. Beautiful log cabin. Had visits from grouse, snowshoe hare, nesting robins and even a moose
Had a wonderful stay, kids loved the sea kayaks and sleeping in the screen porch. Saw lots of wildlife: two moose, a wolf, a pair of snowshoe hare, grouse with babies, turtles and a resident bass Ernie who lives under the dock. Very nice modern cabin, the loft is really cozy and great location for a family adventure!
Super accommodations along the gunflint trail. Enjoyed the lake views with the sounds of loons. Weather was fantastic and enjoyed the time with family and friends. Bass fishing was good.
Great property for families , kids love sleeping on the porch bunk beds and hearing the loons and whiporwills at night. Plenty of room for the grandparents to join us as well. Nice great room to sit, talk and play board games. Kitchen well equipped for making family meals. The kayaks and short path to the dock are great, lots of fun paddling into the BWCA for a day trip. Also fun to visit Chik Wauk nature center and hike their trails. Property is very clean and modern, beautiful log home, great communication with the owners.
We have been coming to this location for several years now and it is our annual retreat. Love to come here to unwind, fish, catch up and just enjoy the all around beauty. Tim and Judy are great hosts and the cabin is just lovely. Can't wait for our next stay!
Enjoyed our stay at Seagull Lake. Tim and Judy were easy to communicate with and responded quickly to questions we had before our stay. The house easily accommodated our group of 8 (two families with teens). Our families enjoyed using the boat and kayaks available with the property. The kitchen included all of the household cooking supplies we needed. The porch area was a bit cool to sleep in on cold nights, but provided a great overflow area during our stay. Although the fishing was a bit slow the week we visited, we were able to catch small mouth bass, brook trout, and a few pike. This cabin is off the beaten path and provided us with some much needed peace and quiet. Beautiful area and a peaceful retreat. We would definitely stay again.
Our arrival was just 48 hours after the BWCA closed and an hour or so before the area was put into pre-evacuation status. I cannot say enough good things about the owner. Extremely professional, insured we had all information that we needed, and personally attended to details that only he could to make our stay safer. We chose to stay & are very glad we did.
The home is absolutely beautiful; we realized the silver lining of not being able to travel far was hanging out in a very clean, well thought out and guest friendly accommodation. Kids and I loved the ease-of-use with kayaks and canoe. (immediate be area is not part of the BWCA.) We caught several bass via the motor boat and daily were serenaded by loons. Really all you need to pack are clothes and food - everything else is there.
Great communication with the owner and his wife who were there at our arrival. Extremely clean EVERYWHERE! No dust or cobwebs on any of the logs throughout the home. Nice to have access to the motorboat and canoe and kayaks. Very lovely and quiet. I loved sleeping out on the porch but everyone said their beds were comfortable. Nice to have a caretaker stop by to pick up trash. Close to trails and enjoyed the Historical Society museum.
Highly recommend!! You are off the grid!
We had a wonderful time staying at the cabin. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and watching the loons. The cabin accommodated all 7 of us. The only down fall was that there was only1 bathroom. The trees are slightly overgrown so its hard to see the lake from inside the living room. It would be a pretty amazing view if the trees were trimmed. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We would recommend this rental to others!
