Located in a fully renovated circa 1888 building in the heart of historic downtown Frankfort. This ground floor studio apartment suite with high ceilings in the bedroom. The suite retains its historic charm, yet is fully furnished with updated finishes and full separate kitchen. The suite comes with a refrigerator, microwave, oven/range, dishwasher, coffee maker, free Wi-Fi with 1 Gigabyte download speed, Smart TV, washer & dryer onsite, central heat & A/C, luxury hotel bath towels and linens, and memory foam mattress. Sleeps two.

The historic property originally housed the Greenwood Female Seminary established circa 1844 by Mrs. Mary T. Runyan. Mrs. Runyan sold the property to T.J. Congleton Brothers and the current two-story frame structure was constructed in the late 1880’s.

Enjoy an evening cocktail on your private porch, while smelling bourbon being made just blocks away at Buffalo Trace Distillery. Ample on street parking is close by or dedicated parking space on adjacent property. Bourbon themed artwork displayed though out the suite.

Fun in Frankfort

We came for the distilleries but wanted to have a cozy place to stay. The True House was perfectly updated and clean. Next time we visit we plan to expand our itinerary to other distilleries but we'll be staying at the True House..

Trip to Buffalo Trace

We came to Frankfort to visit Buffalo Trace distillery and to check out the town. It was a nice getaway from home. The apartment was Quaint with a touch of love. We loved having the plush towels ready for us and a comfy bed. It was convenient having so many establishments close by in walking distances to us. We walked around town checking out all of the wonderful places and meeting so many locals. The town is so nice, many things to see and the locals are so friendly and helpful. We will definitely book The True House again in the future.

Nice Get-Away

This place is absolutely adorable! It was beautifully furnished and was within walking distance of the historic town of Frankfort! The town had many restaurants and shops! This property had snacks, teas, coffee, and toiletries provided, a nice touch. It was a lot smaller than it appeared online, but the design used all of the space well! I also didn’t realize beforehand that there wasn’t a small living space at all, just the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom! This turned out to not be a problem for us though! I would definitely recommend this property for two people looking to get away for just a few days!

Smell the Mash!

The location and apartment was the perfect little vacation spot for my husband and I. We were there for the bourbon and so close to several distilleries. You can really smell the mash from Buffalo Trace! The apartment is very well stocked with anything you may need or want. Short walk right into downtown Frankfort for dining, drinks, ice cream, beautiful scenery, and so much more! The town has so much to offer. The apartment was clean and quiet. We also enjoyed our nights out on the patio. The only thing I would recommend is to pack the extra clothes as the washer and dryer are shared between the other apartments. We LOVED our stay at the True House!

This apartment was perfect for my stay. It was very well centralized for all the events I attended and was amazingly charming. The pics of this place are nice, but, the place is nicer. Everything is perfect in this turn of the century updated rental in the heart of bourbon and horse country. The owners greet you with brochures and a gift pack with local goodies. No detail has been overlooked. The rental is equipped with every amenity to make your stay so comfortable you might not want to leave! You’ll be walking distance from shopping and dining as well as historic sites and museums. And you're just minutes from several distilleries as well as wineries. We highly recommend True House as your vacation headquarters for the Frankfort area.

Great spot!

Walking distance to downtown activities / sites. Very close to Frankfort area distilleries. Clean and all the creature comforts have been thoughtfully provided. Actually looked forward to coming back to "The True House" after a day of exploring.

Rene’ and Leslie True are life long residents of Central Kentucky and live only minutes away from the vacation suite. The couple has been married for over 20 years and they have three children. Both are retired from Kentucky state government. The couple both now stay busy with second careers in real estate related businesses, including three vacation rentals.

Why they chose this property

The apartment is within 2-3 blocks of several restaurants and bars. Restaurants in Downtown Frankfort include: Bourbon on Main, Goodwood Brewery, Main Street Diner, Serfini, Mi Fiesta, Brown Barrel, Mortimer Bibb, Brick Alley, Howser Tavern, Kentucky Coffeetree Cafe, and Sub Pub. Locals Food Hub & Pizza Pub and Limewater are both a short 15 minute walk from downtown area. Two coffee houses downtown are the Engine House and Kentucky Coffeetree Cafe. B's Bakery is in downtown with Poppy's Bakery a 15 minute walk. Sig Luscher Brewery is about 100 yards from the apartment. Several other bars and brew pubs are located downtown with The Cooperage Bar, POURter's, House of Commons: A Bourbon Library, Blind Harry's, Dicey Riley's Irish Pub, Capital Cellars Bar & Liquor Store, the aforementioned restaurants and others.

As the Capital of Kentucky, Frankfort has several historic properties and museums downtown. The Kentucky History Museum and the Capital City Museum are two blocks away from the apartment and the Kentucky Military Museum is about four blocks away. The State Capitol Building and Governor's Mansion are 1 mile away. Two distilleries, Buffalo Trace and J. Mattingly 1845 are with 1.5 miles. The Kentucky River is about a 5 minute walk from the property.
