The Light House Cottage

Welcome to The Light House.

The Light House is the closest house to the working Burnett Heads Light house.
Views of the ocean or harbour from every window in the house.
Discover the pristine coastline of Burnett Heads and Mon Repos, with intriguing turtles, whales and the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.

This well-maintained home is the typical Queenslander with closed in verandahs (sleep-outs), and a large, central lounge.

It was the old pilot stations' house, moved with logs to this prime location back in the 30's.

There are 4 bedrooms and a 2-way bathroom, with a claw-foot bath and seperate shower. The toilet is separate.

The 2 queen, and 2 single beds are very comfortable, as is the leather lounge suite.

Ceiling fans are throughout, and sea breezes are too pleasant to bother with air-con.

The fully fenced yard is large enough to park your boat and car, and keep your dog happy and secure.

Outdoor pets welcome and pets may sleep in the laundry at night.

Lockable single shed.

Great fishing and swimming from the rock walls and private beach.

Excellent boating and fishing in river or out to the reef.

A short 700m walk to local Supermarket, shops, PO, pub and club.

Playgrounds and skate bowl in adjacent parks for the kids.

Summer Getaway

Good clean property in quiet area close to ocean and river access. As advertised - secure yard for the dog. Would highly recommend a stay if you are looking for a peaceful getaway that is a good base for a Bundaberg escape.

Burnett heads

We have never stayed in a more meticulously clean property. It had everything we needed for our short stay with the kids and our 2 small dogs. Quiet and picturesque area and hope to come again in the cooler months!

Dog Friendly

Great location walking distance to everything. Big well fenced yard for our young dog. A park across the street with a free electric BBQ where we had several breakfasts enjoying the sun rise and breeze. Lots of friendly dog walkers to have a chat to. This is our second stay and will return again.

We have two young disabled adults, both able to climb the three stairs at the front and rear. Our son loved wandering around the fully enclosed property while our daughter enjoyed watching tv shows. The playground opposite and the playground a wheelchair walk away was wonderful. We wheelchair walked to the shops and the house had everything we needed. We accessed Mon Repos, Oceanfest, Bundaberg Steam Train and Botanic Gardens and all of the beautiful beaches nearby. We will book again for next year! Loved it!

Terrific Stay

Everything you could want, spacious, beautiful views, fully equipped kitchen. Only no internet or dryer (my fault, didn’t check but wasn’t a big deal. A great stay and we wish we could have stayed longer, perhaps another time’

A lovely stay with a few drawbacks

We’ve now stayed at Burnett Heads twice and really enjoy the house and yard—both are well-maintained and comfortable. However, this time, the mozzies and midges were quite bad, making it a bit challenging to fully enjoy the outdoor areas. Additionally, we ran into an issue with the hot water system, as the owner's tariff setup meant it only heated up during the day, leaving us without hot water at night and forced to take cold showers. Aside from these setbacks, it was a great stay overall, and we appreciate the property itself.

Our stay at the property was fantastic, property was very clean and true to its description with provided amenities spot on. Only negative was it was very hot and humid, would have been more comfortable with air conditioning.

Beautiful spacious house

This house is spacious & beautiful. Very clean and tidy, kitchen has lots of space, big fridge, full of all appliances. Bathroom was very neat and spacious. Location is local will short distance to all local shops, activities-attractions(mon repos),port of bundy Marina, bundy rum factory , Parks just access the road , Water front, lights houses are in walking distance. This is a very beautiful town. Absolutely loved this house. Was a great choice !

PLEASANT COASTAL COTTAGE

The Lighthouse house is a spacious modernised old Queensland cottage. Comfortable bedding and furniture. Dog friendly with pet allowed outside in fenced yard & internal laundry. On hot and sunny & humid days inside of the house is like a sauna. So air cond in lounge area at least is needed for these days. As per listing remember to bring your own bed sheets and pillow cases. Good overall

Great home with character

Such a great house in a great location. House was lovely and clean and hosts were a pleasure to speak to. Some aircon in the bedrooms would be a massive bonus for the hotter months but when we were there the fans were just fine. The laundry is a great place for the dogs to sleep and the fully fenced yard with shade is perfect for them while we went out for the day. Only negative thing is they wouldn't let us buy the place haha. Will definitely stay again
