There was no mention of full on construction taking place on both sides of the house. The workers were gawking and making comments in Spanish. We were so disappointed in our planned week stay. Ending up costing us more money to find something in short notice. Yes. I did get 100% refund; but we wanted a vaca. And our trip was stressful looking for another place.

Perfect family get away

My husband and I and our 2 teens 18 & 16 stayed here for 10 nights. We had a wonderful relaxing time. We definitely recommend this place. Costco is 35 minutes away and so many other store so close to get all you need.

Wonderful spot

We had a very lovely time at this beach house. As it is on the water, some features were salt-effected, not not enough to hinder our very pleasant visit.

Quiet beach front setting

We were very happy with our stay here. The place was clean and the view was lovely. We had a quiet christmas here and a beautiful christmas day swim in the warm sea. Highly recommend. You will need a car tho as its quite spread out. Maria was super helpful and always answered my messages promptly.

Rest & Relaxation

Maria was very quick to respond when we had any concerns about anything! The home was very clean & well equipped! If someone is looking to get away for rest & relaxation this was a great location & we felt very safe in the neighborhood! Get groceries & supplies in Merida or Progreso or Chelem before you get to the house! 15 or 20 min walk will get you to Chuburna or Chelem where there are more supplies & some restaurants but lots of them close at 6:00pm! Only item missing at house was a toaster & a better bar-b-q & the coffee pot was very small. Outside area on pool deck was wonderful with great chairs to enjoy morning sun!

Great house right on the beach

Loved the house, it was perfect! We spent most of the time at the beach vs the pool. The bed was freaky hard and uncomfortable so add a few layers of blankets to help with the softness. There is a small town about 5-10 mins from the house where you can eat at local restaurants that have AMZANING food and everyone is so nice!! When we had questions on the house the owner responded right away and was very helpful. Note that there is only two rooms in the house the other room/beds are out in the detached garage. The hammocks were such a nice touch of comfort, naps for days :) I didnt want to leave.

Lovely stay in Chuburna

Maria was prompt in answering questions, her pleasant manager, Irma, checked us in and showed us around the home. Both immediately responded when there was some cable work outside that interrupted our electricity and reassured us that the town workers would have it up and running soon which was the case. My husband and I had plenty of space to relax. Very comfortable bed with waves lulling us to sleep. We used the washer one time. We enjoyed the private beach and ocean swims. Restaurants were basic in Churburna and Chelem. There was space for our rental car. All in all, a nice respite from the cold midwestern weather. Thank you.

Beach House

The house met our general expectations. The kitchen was well stocked (utensils, pots and pans, glasses, etc), Smart TVs, furnishings were fine, outdoor patio area, including the pool were fine. A/C in the bedrooms works well. The power went out the first night of our stay, I suspect this is a grid issue, too much demand not enough supply. Power was restored around 10 AM, approximately. We were out of WIFI our last day before checking out. Some general maintenance updating would be appropriate. The neighborhood is a mix of very upscale villas/casa and downtrodden properties. Unfortunately, the neighbor directly to east is doing construction upgrades. Not sure how long this will last. It has a nice beach, with an excellent sand bottom that extends out from the shore, would be excellent for a family with kids. Due to a beach restoration project, walking the beach can be a challenge at high tide. We visited Playa Chuburna, a 15-minute drive, is beautiful, easy to walk. During the week very few people. Chuburna Puerto and Chelem have some pretty good seafood restaurants and Progreso, about 25 minutes drive has a beautifully done promenade and excellent restaurants. We enjoyed our time here, weather was hot, perfect time to be staying at a beach house.

Vi var 5 personer men nÀr vi kom till huset visade det sig att det inte fanns tillrÀckligt med sÀngplatser i huset utan 2 fick sova i ett annex som var tvÀttstuga och luktade bara klorin. Annonsen sÀger 3 sovrum, det stÀmmer inte.MosqitonÀten i dörrarna var trasiga och dÄ visste vÀrden sedan flera mÄnader tillbaka att vi skulle komma. Varför lagar man inte det. FlÀkt och spis var jÀtte smutsigt. Inga affÀrer eller restauranger. Stranden var en soptipp och poolen hade ingen cirkulation.HusÀgaren snabb med Äterbetalning, dÄ vi lÀmnade efter 1 natt (hade bokat 5). Annonsen borde tas bort omedelbart.jÀtte smutsigt

L’hĂŽte ne s’est jamais dĂ©placĂ©e, elle n’a jamais rĂ©pondu aux appels ou messages. Nous avons dormi dans une piĂšce extĂ©rieur Ă  la maison sans Wc (obligĂ© d’aller dehors en pleine nuit) aux fenĂȘtres et volets dĂ©labrĂ©es , l’eau passait sous la porte rien Ă  voir avec les photos idylliques affichĂ©es sur abritel. FenĂȘtres cassĂ©s sur la baie vitrĂ©e, tout le monde peut entrer, zĂ©ro sĂ©curitĂ© pour nos affaires. Poubelles gravats ect autour de la maison. Photos et vidĂ©os Ă  l’appui, nous avons signalĂ© l’annonce non conforme a Abritel. Nous avons du partir et louer autre chose . A fuir

Splendid Time On The Beach

We’re an American couple in our 30s and stayed here for just three nights during a “tour de force” house-hunting trip in Yucatán. It’s a really lovely cottage located directly on the beach. Simple, but efficiently appointed. Owner Maria is great - just an absolute doll. We made the silly mistake of not going to the grocery store before arriving and Maria was kind enough to take us there after meeting us for check in. Go to the super Aki in progreso before you get here! There are several restaurants within walking distance (if you’re healthy and used to walking) and we tried them all. Brisa was by far the best. Oxxo is also an easy walk for essentials - but go early in AM or around 6pm because midday heat can make it uncomfortable. Beach is adorable and is a typical gulf beach with shell midden and then soft white sand. We were able to catch several species of fish right from shore using a US #7 hook, 6lb test and some pieces of raw shrimp (we bought the shrimp from Brisa restaurant). Lots of snapper and grunt when fishing a few inches off the bottom with 1/2oz weight. Needlefish and one small mackerel on the surface with plugs. Bring lots of bottles water to drink. A/C in both bedrooms. We moved the beds to one room to cut down on carbon footprint but we did need to run the A/C at night. You don’t need it during the day with windows open - spectacular breeze pretty much all day. Neighbors are all very friendly. If you walk into town you will meet several (and their dogos!). Pool was a very nice relief and we used it daily. We could not find a local source for hard alcohol (eg rum) but plenty of cold beer places (Oxxo/Six).

Nice place.

This house was exactly what we were looking for. Comfortable, pool, great beach. Maria was very responsive when asked. A few things could be improved upon. It rained HARD one night and the back door leaked badly, but it's not the rainy season, so a minor inconvenience. The restaurants were primitive, but delicious and close by. Special shout out to Bistro Maasai Maya. We ate here twice in the week. BEST pizza in the Yucatan along with terrific and ample pasta dishes. Very private and quiet beach with almost no seaweed. The seabirds liked hanging out here almost daily. There are nicer places, but not at this price point. Thank you Maria.

Good place for good weather

Die Unterkunft ist basic. Die Einrichtung ist funktionell. Maria bemĂŒht sich. MĂ€ngel werden umgehend behoben. Das Highlight ist die Poolarea mit Sitzmöglichkeit und Liegen. Auto ist erforderlich. NĂ€chste Einkausmöglichkeit in Chelem - ca. 10 km. Es gab keinen Check-in Vorgang. SchlĂŒssel steckte an der TĂŒr.

Beach House Review

Maria (property owner) is one of the best. Maria both picked us up and brought us to the airport in Merida when it was time to return home. No other renter that I know of does this. Upon arry, Maria took us to Walmart so to pick up groceries while on our way from the airport to her property. Maria kept in touch with us throughout our stay and was very responsive to our needs and requests. Initially, we found there were no towels available. Maria was easy to contact and immediately saw that towels were on site. The beach house is as advertised. It is roughly 50 feet from the surf. The house is clean and comfortable. There is an issue with the pool (water level drops over a short period of time) but Maria ensured that it was usable and kept it full. We did use the pool daily with no concerns. Maria was great in providing contacts along with ideas for things to see and do in the area. I am very happy with both our stay and with our host, Maria. She is a really sweet heart. Gracias

Wonderful house and great location!

We stayed at this house for 8 days. The location was great for us. Quiet, peaceful and friendly neighbors. Perfect beach access. House was clean and had all of the amenities you would expect. My only recommendation is to provide more towels. We only had 2 for 2 people/8 days. Luckily we brought beach towels. A car is probably helpful from this location but we did not do that. A short walk to the main road and you can get a ride anywhere which was fine for us. Overall this house is in a wonderful location. Maria is very responsive to questions and helpful. I would defintely stay here again.

Tolle Lage am Strand mit Pool

Die Lage direkt am Strand, die Terrasse mit Sonnenliegen und der Pool haben sehr ĂŒberzeugt. Die Schlafzimmer sind ausreichend groß und modern eingerichtet. Die Doppelbetten sind allerdings etwas klein. Weniger ĂŒberzeugend ist das dritte von drei Schlafzimmern, welches außerhalb des Hauses, in einem kleinen NebengebĂ€ude direkt an der Straße neben dem Parkplatz liegt und kein eigenes Badezimmer hat. Das Haus ist sicherlich auch fĂŒr Kinder geeignet, diese sollten aber schon schwimmen können, da der Pool und auch die Terrasse keine Absicherungen haben. Insgesamt ein schöner Aufenthalt.

La ubicaciĂłn es ideal ya que las Plata estĂĄ a unos cuantos pasos, la terraza te enamora!

Totalmente tranquilo el vecindario, justo lo que buscĂĄbamos. Tiene lo bĂĄsico para la estancia, sĂłlo nos hubiera gustado saber que la tercera habitaciĂłn era independiente de la casa, fuera de eso muy bien.

My family bought the house in 2000 because we like to have a place to relax and escape from the city, and is very close to the city.
My dad is the one most loves to be at the beach house , the jogs in the mornings on the sand, swim in the sea and take a nap in the hammock in front of the sea in the evening .
In addition we love seafood.

we decided to buy this property because it is in an area where the beach and the sea are very nice and very quiet, besides the house is in front of the beach and has two windows that let you see from the kitchen , living room, dining room or fourth sea and the beach.
The house is very spacious and is a nice place just 35 minutes from the city
