Activities/attractions available in the area
There are magnificent scenic walks from Spring Beach with paths around the cliffs at either end of the beach. To access the southern cliff walk, climb the steps to the Bluff at the end of the beach and then walk in front of the row of houses (it is public land) to the point and you can then continue until the path rejoins Rheban Road. The round trip takes about half an hour. For a longer walk you can follow the road until you reach the track down to Stapleton Beach. The northern cliff walk commences on the track near the public BBQs and passes through bushland and past an old quarry before reaching the cliff edge. This track has recently been upgraded and is wide enough to facilitate prams and continues as far as Shelley Beach. Spring Beach is good for swimming and the southern end provides good snorkelling. The rockpools at either end of the beach are always popular with the children. Orford is a 5 minute drive away and has a fully stocked supermarket, a post office, a cafe and pizza restaurant and childrens' playground. Across the bridge there is also a hotel, bottle-shop, seafood restaurant and take away. Darlington Winery is at the northern end of Orford and offers free tastings. There is a pop-up cinema at local venues on a weekly basis and the Bowls Club has special meals for guests on Friday nights. We had a lonely stay in this well appointed cottage. A pretty view and extremely comfortable. I had left an item behind which Lorne kindly mailed back to me. Thank you. 10/10
What a treat to sit on the deck and watch dolphins in the bay below. This is the typical beach house that is perfect for those wanting a holiday. We had a very comfortable stay and wished we had more time there.
Clean, complete and on a perfect location to visit Maria Island

A wonderful place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay at Spring beach Cottage. It is well appointed, warm and comfortable. Beautifully situated over looking the beach, and a short drive to the shops.
There is nothing more welcoming than walking into your accommodation on a cold day & having a lovely fire going, was so appreciated. A beautiful homely place with great views & a private yard, had everything we needed, highly recommend this place.
This seaside property had wonderful views, and was located close to triabunna for the ferry to Maria Island. The woodstove kept the place toasty warm and we had everything we needed for a comfortable two days. We loved the fact that the owners gave any profits to charity and were pleased to be able to support them. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to friends.
Short stay only one night to visit Maria Island. Open fire set up to start when we arrived late was a bonus. Used the washer and dryer. Enjoyed a walk along beach in morning watching the sun rise and watching dolphins swimming. Picked up a wrap and the best lemon coconut slice in morning at Orford Riverside Cafe & Providore for food for trip to Maria island. Thanks to Frances for a great stay and instructions.
A good cottage with all the basics - we had three adults staying and it was enough room for the three of us. Beautiful sunrise view, super close to the beach, and a good fireplace which we made the most of during our winter stay. Also had other heating options (small heaters and electric blankets).
We enjoyed Spring Beach - a very quiet town especially as we were there off-peak, but we enjoyed a visit to Maria Island, the local distillery, and beach walks.
Great place with an awesome bed, beautiful setting, stunning view of Spring Beach and Maria Island. House had everything we needed; excellent kitchen! Lorne, our host, was efficient with communication. Gorgeous cliff walk to Stapleton Beach and a beautiful coastal walk/ride to Orford conservation area. Definitely recommend to couples and adults.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for being such excellent guests and for leaving the cottage so spotless!
Thanks Lorne for your perfect cosy cottage with amazing views ..... and with the profits going to charity....we loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves and even managed a swim! We would recommend if visitors want fish n chips for dinner from the van in Triabunna that they eat them at the van...the drive is just a bit too far to keep them hot and crisp! This house has a holiday feel to it. You leave and want tocome back immediately. A beautiful quiet place surrounded by nature and opposite a terrific beach. A fireplace with plenty of timber and a short 4km drive for provisions. It has a well stocked kitchen and bathroom facilities. A warm sunroom off the main bedroom to sit and chill watching and listening to the surf roll in.
