The Neighborhood Overview:
The Ebenezer Estate is a small neighborhood community that makes up part of Dutch Cul-de-Sac. Centrally located between Phillipsburg and Marigot. It's a residential area located in a valley, surrounded by hills. The impressive nature of the green hills is always in view. The area is accessed by a single main road, LB Scott Road, which ends in a cul-de-sac against the hills. This road runs through the valley and provides access to the many side roads on which the dwellings are located. The main road, LB Scott Road, connects Dutch Cul-de-Sac with the rest of Sint. Maarten.
What I love most about the neighborhood are the quietness and privacy. On most days, the block is quiet, other than vehicles passing on the streets from time to time during school hours. It's a short drive to the attractions of both the Dutch and French sections of the Island. This neighborhood is pretty safe; I wouldn't be too worried about walking around the neighborhood; people are amicable. You'll find the communities warm and welcoming. The best way to discover the way of life and customs of Saint Maarten is to take a stroll through its towns and villages.
Twenty-three minutes to Juliana International Airport, Fifteen minutes to Philipsburg, the boardwalk, Great Bay, and Divi Little Bay beaches. The area is home to The Flying Dutchman, the steepest Zipline in the world, and the Rainforest Park.
Emilio's Restaurant- Fine dining with lots of history.
Jose Lake Ballpark- host to local and international softball.
Carrefour Market- the largest hypermarket in the world.
Carib Lumber Ballpark - hosts local and regional cricket.
Juliet’s Gym- 5 minutes
Mark's Place - American and Caribbean Cuisine, large portions, and friendly staff.
The lookout point is on Cole Bay Hill, where you will enjoy an excellent view of Simpson Bay, Cole Bay, and our neighboring islands.

Getting around:
If you want to explore the island and its beaches, and evening entertainment, I recommend renting a car. However, there is easy access to public transportation in the Dutch Cul-de-Sac area. By car or taxi, the journey is short to Philipsburg and the airport. The nearest bus stop that goes into Philipsburg is about a 5-minute walk.
You can get a cab at the airport. Prices are set by the government and are determined by how far you go. The restaurant will call a cab for you. Just make sure to wait for the cab number they give you. Taxis are also great transportation at night, particularly as the buses are less likely to run. They are unmetered, so agree on a fare before entering the cab. The main Taxi service in St. Maarten is called Dutch Taxi. I can also provide a more reliable taxi driver and a car rental company, highly recommended.

Blessing in Disguise
Ohhhh myyyy goshhhh! I have nothing but high praises to sing about this apartment as well as about Menavia as a host. Our apartment had everything you could need in a home away from home. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I'm still in shock with how stocked Menavia's place is, which honestly is rare with a lot of homestays. Every drawer and cabinet in the kitchen was fully stocked. There was no shortage of towels to bathe with or take to the beach. Though we didn't use the tvs once, I loved that there was a tv in each room. There was also a printer in the apartment in case we needed to print anything. As far as location, I felt VERY safe! This apartment is tucked away in a local neighborhood yet very close to everything. We spent our time on both the French and Dutch side and never once felt we were driving for too long. Menavia was also very full of recommendations via whatsapp but also via the binder available for you in the apartment. I HIGHLY recommend! I'm already looking forward to my next trip back!

Excellent Stay for a Last Minute Trip
We unexpectedly had to fly to St. Maarten for our Grandmother’s funeral and ran across this property when looking for a place to stay. This was an excellent choice. The owner was very accommodating and made sure that she communicated with us during our stay. We received daily messages and calls to make sure that we were settled in ok and had everything that we needed. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home and for being an excellent host.

We had the best experience at MEcassa Menavia, the cleanliness, ambiance and tentative care
You feel safe and secluded at this resort, with CCTV in operation around the perimeter of the premises. All you need to do if coming here is to pack your clothes, minus towels. Absolutely everything has been provided, it really is a home from home experience. The locals are very friendly along with local shops and bars further down by the local supermarket. Very well situated, you’re able to get around without a car as buses are regular. But with a car you can explore the whole island at your leisure. I would definitely come back and tell my family and friends if they’re visiting.

About the host

Host profile image
My name is Menavia Langlais. I was born on the Caribbean island of Dominica. I migrated to the beautiful Caribbean island of Dutch Sint Maarten at an early age. I am a hardworking, honest, reliable, kind hearted, and a very compassionate person with lots of great ideas and a great personality. I love to make others happy. I've owned my own business for twelve years in Sint Maarten until I decided to retire and moved to the United States of America, where I now call my home.

I love traveling the globe and meeting people. My favorite travel destinations are Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Belgium, Hawaii, Australia, Holland, and the Caribbean islands surrounding Sint Maarten.

Someone like me has a consultative hosting style and is concerned with the guest's needs--consistently asking questions to uncover what the guests truly wants, and then being able to meet those requirements.

I worked very hard to build and design this beautiful home, which I take great pleasure in sharing with awesome people like you, people that have an interest in visiting and vacationing on the beautiful Caribbean island of Sint Maarten.

It would make me extremely happy and proud if you have a perfect. Remember, feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or questions.

Why they chose this property

This property is so important to me, because for better or worse, by the presence, it is a crucial point of reference, in memory, feeling, and imagination for inventing the story of myself, my life narrative, for understanding my place in time.
It is also a vital link through which I can connect with others and with the world and the universe at large. I love that I have the opportunity to share it with others.

What makes this property unique

The unique benefits Are you have the best of both worlds. I get to enjoy my vacation home, while also benefiting from rent earnings during the rest of the time. I can visit the property during various periods of the year, either by blocking the calendar in advance or even by making a last-minute trip if the timing is free.
For me my vacation property is where some of my best and most lasting memories with friends and family are made.
