About this property
Azalea House - Family Accommodation
Azalea house is a perfect way to come and relax in the beautiful surrounds of Warburton. Azalea House is a spacious self- catering holiday home for families, groups or couples. It enjoys lovely views of the mountains from the balcony at the front and is a short drive from the shops and cafes in Warburton.
One of the great features of Azalea House is the large, open plan ground floor Kitchen/Living/Dining Room with a wood-heater to keep you cosy in winter. There is 2 Televisions and plenty of DVDs to keep you entertained. It also has fully equipped kitchen and dining table to cater for many.
On the ground floor is the master bedroom with wardrobe and queen size bed. The 2nd bedroom also has a wardrobe, queen sized bed and a cot, There are 2 bathrooms, one with bath, 2 separate toilets , vanities and 1 shower.
On the second floor: the 3rd bedroom has 2 King Singles or beds can be configured to another queen bed. The 4th bedroom has queen sized bed and access to the upstairs balcony.
There is also the large rumpus room upstairs with a television along with books and DVD's.
Couples, young families, extended families or groups up to a maximum of 8 people can therefore relax, cook, eat, drink, sit and sleep in comfort. Individual bookings secure the whole house. Relax, watch the sun go down from the balcony, enjoy the BBQ and entertainment area at rear of property. Azalea House is a very short drive to Warburton town-ship and within a 500 metre walk to La La Falls, one of Warburton’s finest Forrest Walks.
Why stay in Warburton?
In our opinion the urban sprawl of Melbourne ends well before you reach Warburton, but is only just over an hour’s drive from its centre. It can also be reached by train to Lilydale linking a frequent and regular bus service to Warburton.
Warburton sits astride the Yarra River approximately 20 kms from the Upper Yarra Dam (well worth a visit). Walks criss-cross the river or why not take a dip? For other walks the choice is endless ranging from a 15 minute stroll to an all day hike. The Warburton Bicycle Trail “Warby Trail” from Lillydale to Warburton was the old railway line and is now well used by both cyclists and walkers.
Should you want to 'ruin' a good walk try the inexpensive and grossly under used yet superb local golf course (club hire available). There are also tennis courts, a bowling green and a sports arena. For those who prefer a swimming pool rather than the Yarra a ten minute drive to Yarra Junction will answer the need.
There are numerous cafes and shops and the township is well served with excellent produce from the bakery, butcher and IGA store.
Within half an hour’s drive you can reach the summit of Donna Buang, visit the cellar doors of several excellent wineries, take a trip on Puffing Billy, go to the Races at Healesville, take a picnic to the acre Lotus Garden and or merely enjoy a scenic drive through the wooded hills and rolling countryside.
