About this property
Glen Ayr Cottages, Pokolbin NSW
Murray cottage is one of five cottages at Glen Ayr Cottages, situated in the heart of Pokolbin vineyards, five minutes' drive from Hunter Gardens, concert venues, and many wineries. Murray is a comfortable two-bedroom cottage with two queen beds; the bedrooms are en-suite. It has a large living and kitchen area with an open fire and air-conditioning. The cottage is kept meticulously clean by our long-term housekeeper, who uses alcohol-based cleaning agents.
Murray cottage is an hour and forty-five minutes' drive from the beginning of the M1 Motorway (Pacific Highway) at Wahroonga, and an hour from the centre of Newcastle. Despite being within five minutes' drive of many large wineries, it is quiet and secluded. It has views of neighbouring Audrey Wilkinson's vineyard from its verandah. Nearby attractions include wine tasting, fine restaurants, galleries, horse riding, hot air ballooning, bushwalking, golfing and sky diving.
There is also a great variety of birds and other wildlife in the surrounding area, including kangaroos and frill-necked lizards; kangaroos often graze in front of the cottage.

Murrays Cottage at Glen Ayr was a great little getaway.
So much nicer than a boxy hotel room.
Great communication with the owner and everything went smoothly.
I stayed here with my mum and my 6 month old to celebrate mum's birthday. It was perfect!!! Such a lovely quaint little cottage, with a large bedroom each with queen beds and we each had our own ensuite. It was very hot when we visited so the air con in the lounge room was bliss as were the fans in each bedroom. Would love to come back in Winter and make use of amazing looking fire place. Highly recommend.
The place was perfect, stayed over the Christmas break. The scenery was beautiful, the sounds of the birds was amazing, the view was so peaceful. Cannot wait to book during winter for the fireplace. It is now our place to go and clock out from the rest of the world.
I enjoyed this property. It was close to everything and well stocked with firewood, and the fire was all prepared for us. Communications were excellent; there was loads of privacy- great. This cabin had two bathrooms, making it great for couples or friends sharing the property.
The only thing i would add, was including a cheese knife
We stayed in the charming “Murray” cottage
Very clean and cosy, bedrooms and ensuites good size and the kitchen also.
Shuttle service collection to and from for our wedding visit no problem
Bill -our contact was happy to advise and answer any questions I had prior to our stay thanks Bill !!☺️
We had a lovely stay at Murray Cottage. So much character! Great location, peaceful and quiet. We had a cheese platter on the lawn our first day, enjoyed the sunrise each morning and had the open fire burning throughout the morning and evenings. Bed's were comfortable and the cottage was stocked with all the things you might need. It was everything we imagined! Thank you so much Bill. We will be back.
Clear communication of how to find the cottage would help. eg Turn off MacDonald Road past the Tullocks entrance then the instructions as sent to us.
Once we found the Cottage, location is excellent for us.
Thank you
David K.
