About this property

This Northstar mid-mountain neighborhood is located a few hundred yards below the Ritz-Carlton and one of only two true ski-in/ski-out. Off the back patio you can click into your skis and enjoy the day on the slopes. Soak up expansive views of the valley from the private hot tub or enjoy the club house for a dip in the pool, bocci ball, community pizza oven, pool table, basketball and more.

Trailside Loop is apart of a few
neighborhoods - the first being Mountainside at Northstar which is the newest planned community on the mountain. Private amenities available only to owners and guests include a mountain shuttle, indoor / outdoor yoga studio, kids playground, and Treehouse community pool / spa / gym / bar / basketball complex.

Of course the broader community includes both the Ritz-Carlton and The Village at Northstar. Numerous dining / bar options, shopping, golfing and year round activities are all over the mountain. We have numerous suggestions in our in house guest book.

Beyond that, we are sandwiched in between Lake Tahoe and downtown Truckee each about 15 minutes away) which both feature close to a zillion things to do. Fantastic dining, boating, golfing, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, shopping, hiking, rafting, gambling and whatever else you can think of. It's truly a year round experience.

You're on the mountain, so skiing / hiking / biking really doesn't require much effort aside from opening the back door. Both the Ritz and the Village are walkable in the non-snow months via ski runs and there is a free concierge shuttle during peak season to help with logistics as well, especially if the lower chair lift isn't open yet or if a celebration needs a designated driver.
4 Parking spaces, parking on the street is strictly prohibited. All vehicles must be parked in the driveway and/or garage at all times. Guest must agree to read and comply with Placer county's Good Neighbor Policies.

The ultimate family ski home!

Nothing but great things to report back on this Northstar stunner. The house is beautifully maintained and well provisioned. No detail was overlooked. The ski-in, ski-out was amazing … as was the private hot tub after a day on the slopes. Brett Marie was a true pleasure; check-in and check-out were a breeze and she reached out a few times to ensure we were enjoying our stay (and we certainly were!). The HOA amenities are wonderful; a beautiful clubhouse with a large pool and hot tub and gym as well as around-the-clock shuttle service. The proximity to the Ritz is awesome. I recommend this to anyone seeking a large, flexible home base for any time of the year. Five stars!

Great ski-in-ski-out home

We chose this home as a ski vacation and to celebrate a birthday. The home is ski-in-ski-out. We used the on call shuttle to the gondola next to the Ritz and then skied back to our home at the end of the day. If you use the ski out option, you ski down to the village and take the gondola up and it drops you next to the Ritz. The shuttle takes you to the top of the gondola eliminating having to stand in line. The home itself was clean, organized and inviting. I give this home 5 stars. We did have to shock the hot tub water prior to entering it, but all went well.

Amazing property, less impressed with property management

Pros: gorgeous, well-appointed home. Very comfortable for our group of 7 adults and 3 kids. Excellent location with easy slopes access and the shuttle was very convenient. Cons: we specifically booked a house with a hot tub and it was not functional for 2/3 of our week stay. The property manager was a no call/no show one day and then rudely refused to service it the next day. Very unexpected after the emails about “concierge service” that preceded our stay. This was our only request from them our entire stay.
