The Forest Lodge Apartment is just metres away from riparian rainforest which you can discover. There is a wide variety of birds and you might even see some of the native wildlife. As we are Wildlife Carers you might have the chance to see some of Australia's nocturnal wildlife in the huge aviaries where the animals can exercise as preparation for release. While staying with us you have your space and tranquillity but, if you wish, you can explore the property any time.
Forest Lodge is a peaceful oasis only 15 minutes from the pristine beaches of Agnes Water and the Town of 1770 on Queensland's east coast where the Great Barrier Reef begins. Here you can book a trip to the Great Barrier Reef, a ride on the LARC to nearby sand dunes and lighthouse, visit the museum, or just enjoy yourself on the beaches or in one of the cafes and restaurants.
This beautifully appointed apartment consists of bedroom with queen size bed, living room, kitchen and bathroom. It has access to a private terrace and a Bali-style gazebo which sometime is used by the owners, too.
Bed linen, blanket, doona (duvet, quilt) and towels are provided. Also free WiFi connection and TV. For chilly nights there is an electric heater and for hot summer days a fan, which you will rarely require because of the efficient cross ventilation and high ceilings of the apartment.
Rainforest, creeks, billabongs, birds and Australian wildlife - a tropical paradise. And only 15 minutes away stunning beaches from tranquil coves, long stretches of white sand, surf and a patrolled beach for safety. Agnes Water and the Town of 1770 are access points to the Great Barrier Reef with daily services to Lady Musgrave Island only a little over an hour out by smooth riding catamaran.
The kitchen is equipped with cutlery, crockery, kitchen utensils and glasses. There is no stove but electric kettle, fry pan and pots and also a small desktop oven.
Please treat our apartment as you would your home. As we do not charge any cleaning fees we would like you to keep the apartment reasonably clean and do your dishes before you leave. This is a pet free apartment. Although we love pets (we have a small dog of our own), we can't allow pets as they are not familiar with the wildlife we care for. The apartment is also smoke free.

Unfortunately the photos are miss leading, it shows feeding possums and sugar gliders ect (as an animal lover, this is why we choose it) their was not any, their is cages with them in, but the owner does not offer for you too see them, she was feeding one while we were there, was an opening for them to show us, as we asked lots of questions.
We had the cabin that was attached to the house and it felt as tho you were on holidays with them, as they weee so close and could hear them.
It also show a rain forest water/creek, but nope it was about a 10 minute drive, to the national park
Over all the apartment was clean and tidy.
The park lands were overgrown with piles of dead plants ect.
Was a really uncomfortable stay.

Magical Retreat
Our stay with Helene & Manfred was amazing the unit is perfect although a little cold in winter with no heating. In saying that the unit is spacious clean and extremely well stocked. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is lovely. The surroundings are beautiful with Kangaroo's and other wildlife visiting. Helene and Manfred are wildlife carers and allowed us to visit the huge Avery which is attached to the house to see the sugar gliders and hold a baby. Helene & Manfred are wonderful hosts and are currently building another separate unit on the property which is also beautiful. Great Location !!! Great Hosts !!! Beautiful surroundings !!! we will certainly be back.
