Getaway House - Great Value 5 mins walk to beach - Family friendly holiday home

This centrally located house ,4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There are two eating areas, a long dining table inside and alfresco eating area on the deck adjoining the large family sized pool.

This property is very private from the neighbours, enjoy the large family pool and open living area.
Great value for money! Superb choice for family getaways, weekend golfing tours, shopping at Pacific Fair.

At the end of the street (one block up)is woolworths, chemist, bottle shop, medical centre , butcher, cafes and restaurants. Not to meantion the BEACH! is just a 5 min walk

Thank you Wendy for a wonderful stay. It was a perfect getaway for our family and the location was amazing - so close to walk down to the beach or grab a few things at the supermarket to do a cook up. Very spacious with ample room for multiple family members and it was lovely to relax by the pool with the great weather. Wendy was responsive and lovely to deal with. We would definitely stay again!

Wendy was very helpful and responsive. Travellers looking for a pool should be aware that the pool is not heated, it was not usable during our trip due to being too cold, (July) the sea was actually warmer. It may sound obvious as it is brisbane’s winter when we visited, but the pool is listed on Vrbo for searches and we booked the house specifically because it had a private kpool. If it is not usable for half the year, I think this needs to be mentioned in the listing on Vrbo. So If a pool is one of your main criteria, just double check it is going to be usable for your trip and big enough for your needs. It would be great for small children and for adults to take a cooling dip in the Aussie summer.We’ve had a fantastic time at the house though, Netflix and prime video available of the smart tvs and good WiFi We would definitely come back and stay again. When they finish the G-Link Tram works, it will be fantastic for easy connection to Broadbeach, Surfers Paradise and Burleigh heads.

Wendy was easy to communicate with. Was disappointed we had to clean the house when we arrived especially when the rate included a cleaning fee. Due to the cleaning problem we wouldn't stay again.

Mermaid Waters Week Away

The house was fantastic. There were 11 of us (3 families) 5 kids and 6 adults. The house was big enough to fit us all very comfortably. There were plenty of rooms, bathrooms and beds. The house was in a great condition and looked exactly as it did in photos. It was a very short walk to the beach and there is a woollies around the corner. The house is in such a great location. We all had hire cars but you could definitely use public transport to get around as the house is very close to the main road. We all absolutely loved the house and would definitely book it again. The check in and out was easy and instructions left by the owner were very clear. Thanks for everything Wendy.

This property was close to shops and the beach. It is located on a through road which is busy during the day but fairly quiet at night. It was difficult to get on street parking. The house had a lovely pool which was well used by the family, overlooked by a great patio with a bbq. A gas bottle was provided but it was running a little low. There were plenty of towels provided, some pool noodles and lounges and even sunscreen. The rear garden was basic and unmown. The bin area was a little untidy. Inside had a lovely beach vibe and was a great relaxing family space. There was plenty of comfortable seating provided and the kitchen was well stocked with basic groceries, cookware, wine glasses etc. There were a couple of maintenance issues, eg. loose skirting boards, dishwasher left some dishes with residue, no body wash in main bathroom, of the 2 hairdryers 1 wasn’t working. The house was very clean except our bare feet became dirty from the floors on the first day before we had been outside. Beds and pillows were all comfortable. There were plenty of cupboards and storage space, books for toddlers and adults, a couple of games, a good iron and ironing board. Thank you Wendy, we had a really wonderful stay in this spacious family holiday home.

Property was perfect for our occasion allowing heaps of room for 8 family members. House was comfortable, had everything you need and a few nice little touches supplied by the owners that make that little difference. Checkin was super easy and location was handy to many facilities. Yes there are a few maintenance and little TLC jobs that are evident but they do not detract at all from a pleasant and very comfortable stay. I would stay there again

Had a wonderful stay at Wendy's place. The house had lots of space for our large family. The pool was a lovely way to cool off after a long day at the theme park. Wendy was a great host from the time of initial enquiry and throughout our stay. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic house and location

We stayed at Wendy and Peter’s house for 10 nights and were totally thrilled with it. The location is wonderful and so easy to get to all attractions on the Gold Coast using the public transport at the end of the street. The house is beautiful and well appointed with plenty of room for the 6 of us to be able to relax very comfortably. I could not recommend this property more highly. We will be back that’s for sure. Thank you.

We enjoyed staying at the house. However the manager’s husband arrived at the property at time 10:00am Sharp, the checkout time when we were taking our food and bags out to the car. He came with cleaners. We over heard him telling cleaners to start cleaning straight away and to push us out. Mind him we paid $$$$ for a week stay with two toddlers and two children under ten years of age. There was no kindness at the end of our stay, it almost felt like our worth is money and nothing else. What a disappointment!

Gold Coast family getaway

The property housed a family of 9 including couple with two children under 3. The 'granny flat' was great for the little family to afford separation and quiet space for little ones. Pool and outdoor area were north facing and comfortable all day. Open plan living allows for cool breeze to circulate. Single air con in that area provides cooling for all bedrooms in hot summer if you leave bedroom doors open and fans on. One ensuite bedroom in house. Others share sizeable bathroom with shower and tub. Only discomfort was smelly bins waiting for collection. Perhaps a commercial collection could be arranged as we had to leave quite a lot of rubbish after 5 days also. The vanity units were slow to drain and had to clear hair and muck from under plug waste. Cleaners should be made aware. Overall location to beach was great. Good amenities with shopping strip 2 minutes walk away and larger supermarkets a short drive. Close to Pacific Fair for a big shopping day out. Fox TV and Netflix provide back up entertainment. Overall very satisfied with this choice.

I manage many holiday houses in Broadbeach and Mermaid, and I like to meet and greet every guest when they arrive at the property to make them feel welcome and to answer any tourist questions, although the first question is always "what's the wifi password?" ). I always say to guests that if there are any problems during their stay, please contact me immediately so I can fix it.

Why they chose this property

Location is very central - This house is perfect for a trip with extended family or friends, as it includes 2 separate lounge areas and a large dining table to seat everyone together.

The neighbours are lovely, but you will probably never see them.

What makes this property unique

The layout of this property is unique in that the outside is just a natural flow from the inside. From the kitchen/bar and dining table you can see through to the outside eating area and the pool, which is great for groups and families all joining in

The Location is very central, you can walk to cafes, beach, bowling club, bus stops.
Pacific Fair shopping centre and the Star Casino is just a short 7-10 min uber ride away.
