About this property

The Jetty - Cowan Cowan - Moreton Island

The Jetty was built during WW2 and has undergone a major renovation resulting in this modern, quirky beachfront property, with 2-bedroom,1 bathroom which can accommodate 4 guests comfortably.
The lounge is separate from the dining/kitchen, which opens up onto a deck with beautiful views of your private beach. There is also a BBQ and a large lawn complete with a fire pit perfect for those winter nights, where you can relax with a drink and toast some marshmallows.

The house is completely off grid and runs on solar power and batteries. All water for the house is from rainwater collected in rainwater tanks.

The Jetty would be ideal for a that special occasion!!

The property is a duplex with separate yards and entrances. It has a starter pack which contains a limited quantity of commonly used items. As this property is self-catering you should bring all toiletries and kitchen consumables based on your usage and length of stay.

The location is the most exceptional thing about this property. So close to the beach and truly a lovely little area to explore.The house was as expected from the photos - unpretentious, cosy and basic. The only drawback on the property is the management. The check in was great but when I queried for the Wi-Fi details (at time of booking the property listed it had Wi-Fi) I received a curt reply and then was completely ignored when I pointed out the discrepancy. We were aiming to work remotely so it was a bit of an issue given there’s also limited Telstra reception at the house. After again following up days later the property manager blamed it on someone in the office and invited a complaint to Stayz. Great host!

A delightful stay by the bay

We loved the neat and tidy cottage with water frontage. Everything was as we expected and Colleen was a delight to talk to as we sorted out the details. We'd stay here again for sure.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Jetty! So spacious and has everything you need. The location is the best part! Colleen is such a lovely host and we can’t wait to book this property again next year!

The Jetty

Have stayed in Cowan Cowan many times this place is amazing everything you need it’s right on the beach. Extremely comfortable and clean. Will definitely be back. Fire pit out front plenty of space for car. Lots of games and dvds. Great little spot to sit out side with bbq. Lots of effort put into this. Great views.

Great location, lovelyinteriors, great outdoor area. Kitchen is great, 3 double beds, nice hot shower. It's a gorgeous little spot to slip into island time and relax.

Great stay

We had a lovely time. House is in a great spot and well equipped. We were even lucky enough to see dolphins and a whale from the back deck and dugongs swimming at the beach out the front.

Perfect beachfront long weekend at Cowan Cowan

The Jetty was a perfect location with everything we needed for a long weekend at Moreton Island. We enjoyed ourselves so much and will be back again.

Perfect

The BOM said there was a cyclone offshore with a massive surf warning and Cowen Cowen was still perfect. I’m almost hesitant to leave such a positive review because I don’t actually want other people knowing how great it is.... shhh, keep it secret. I’ve been visiting the island all my life, camped, stayed at bulwer, at tangalooma.... Cowen Cowen is by far the most serene and the Jetty was absolutely perfect for our family of four. Wish we could have stayed longer....sigh I use to fly around the country for a living, I’ve travelled as far North as Cairns and down South to Tassie, SA, lived in the West for 5 years, up to Broome. But this is where I choose to take my family to get away from it ALL.

Great location- no cars on the beach out the front. Great house- history, well appointed , fire pit and perfectly clean. A great weekend escape!
